About Hyperion fitting, i put 8x EBC on main, HEPT's on front and PAC's on back. Im fairly satisfied with it, everything up to Xenon Q i can take down with main guns, everything above M3 i can follow with main guns, everything below i leave to my turrents + WASP's and DRAGONFLY's.
Otas Venti... if you figure out where to grab one... i want to know!!

Ok i may be wrong, but the Venti may be THE SECOND reward from OTAS missions!!
I'm going to my girlfriend's in a bit, and then I shall write up the next part.
Already played it. It's a couple of hours worth of gameplay I have to write up, so I may split it into two parts.
As a spoiler, The Cure is now finished.
Alright, here we go.

25,000,000 cr for one Paracetamol? I ought to....
I slowly make my way back to Lucky Planets, taking Xenon Patrol, Assassination and Station Defence missions as I go to earn the last four million credits I need.
The Barn door is continuing it's ST actions in Aladna Hill, earning me a small trickle of profit. I can't wait for my trade rank to hit Trader so I can turn him into an Economy/Supply Trader, since they are much better than ST/UTs at stabilising the economy.
I take another patrol mission in Lucky Planets, which I judge to be my last one as I've entered the mid 24 mil cr range in my bank balance, and am jumped by my first P. Around 3 fighter squadrons, one of which is backed up by said P. I immediately go after this wing of Xenon fighters, considering it the most dangerous, and start picking off the Ns, followed by the Ms and finally the Ls, all without much bother. I then go after the P, a little more cautiously. Closing to firing range, I let loose a couple of Banshee missiles, but they unfortunately get shot down, and the P turns his attention to me. Swinging round, I begin to run for the nearest ore mine for cover, but not before a barrage of Ion Shard Railgun spatters around me, stripping my shield down to 10%. Another burst follows that one and by the time I make it to the cover of the mine superstructure, my hull is down to 70% and I've lost my jumpdrive.
With that P circling like a shark that scents blood, I don't have the opportunity for repairs, and like a wounded animal caught in a trap, I turn around and bite down hard. Gunning out of the Mine as the P presents it's side to me, I fire a long burst of my main guns before launching my last three Banshee missiles and pulling away. The P turns to follow me and... disappears in a fireball as my missiles impact against it's amidships region. (I think I literally punched the air and shouted "Yee-haw!"). I then limp after the remaining fighter groups, and after clearing them out with a little help from Boron Sector Security, I get my payout. And it brings me to just over 25 mil credits.
The Lady Luck has served me well, so I do her the honour of repairing her before heading west to get cured of my disease, to regain my standing with my race, and to retrieve my Hyperion and assets.
A short flight later, and I'm docked at the Boron Trading Station in Shore of Infinity, paying for my cure. A little while later, I'm transferring all my equipment from the Lady Luck to my Advanced Persues, the Lady Luck II, before ordering it back to the shipyard in Lucky Planets to be sold, and sliding into the cockpit of my Hyperion Vanguard, the Dark Athena.
I undock from the royal boron trading station, order the Lady Luck II to dock with me, and head for Lucky Planets to purchase all the software updates I can get for my Hyperion. It has 6 Ion Shard Railguns on the front (Out of 8 mounts), 2x 2 HEPTs in the front turrets, and 2x 2 FBLs in the back turrets. It also has 5x 200mj shields for a massive 1GJ of shielding.
Once I get the software updates, I take another Xenon Patrol in Lucky Planets to test it out. I square off against Around 4 Ps and their fighter escorts, and my shields never drop below 80%, and the payout brings me up to 1.5 mil credits.
With that in my bank, I pay for the cargo bay extensions, rudder optimization and engine tunings for the Hyperion, before making the long journey to Legend's Home to purchase a Jumpdrive and to work for OTAS corporation.
With my Paranid rank back up to Nomad, the universe is my oyster, and my plans for the future are uncertain.
The Second part that will be written up later has me working for OTAS, doing a convoy Escort mission, after I jumped back to Paranid Space to earn a little rep, and to buy a Medusa RFM Interface, and a lot of missiles.
Other than working for OTAS, I am open to suggestions as to what I should do now. And loadout suggestions for the Hyperion are always welcome.
I especially want to replace the FBLs on the rear turrets
As mentioned before... 8x EBC on main will leave your turrents with plenty of power (and hyperion cargohold allows him to move around tons of ammo with no problems). HEPT's on front turrents for firepower support and pesky fighter tracking... And on the rear... anything thats not FBL or IRE
That's the best i came up with and im realy satisfied.
Alright, thanks for the advice Shinpl, I'll see about getting enough money and Teladi Rep to make a tiny loop that produces EBC ammo for me, along with Disruptor missiles from the Marauder Shipyard.
Disruptors are my favourite anti-fighter missiles. They can take out M5s and M4s with ease, leaving the easier to hit M3s.
I don't intend to end this any time soon, the next write up will include a brief spell of Paranid Rep-Gaining, the purchase of the Medusa RFM interface, the escort of an OTAS convoy, and whatever I do after that.
About the ammo loop... hmm... i buy 300x ammo every 'few long hours' and a pack of ammo has 200... so 60k ammo... a P goes after 200 shots? So i dont think you need a loop unless you plan to do lots and lots of fighting
Try out first how much you realy use up.
Well, on my main I use a Blastclaw Prototype with EBC as my main weapons, I do use up a fair amount of ammo on that, enough to justify an ammo loop with Tupman if I have other ships that use EBC.
I'll take your advice and wait, but I reckon that as the game progresses (If I don't die first), that it will become a worthwhile investment.
Well, if your a big combat fan then sure, you can burn alot of ammo this way . Still as you said, i would first set up a nice weed complex in teladi space, for steady profitssssss
After that a nice Ammo/Missile complex maybe a good choice!
How on earth did you find a P dangerous? Ion Shard Railguns' speed of shot is only fractionally higher than HEPTs, you should be able to avoid them easily; in fact, whenever I'm doing a Xenon patrol in my Skate Prototype, I find the Ls and Ms to be 100x more dangerous than the P!
I got cocky, to be honest. I'm so used to flying a Blastclaw Prototype that I forgot that a Barracuda Vanguard wasn't one. Plus, I got caught in it's sights.
It was a bit of a feth up on my part, but there you are.
I often find that fighters are easier, plus I wasn't running with full shielding anyway, one of my shields had been destroyed in a previous engagement, so it didn't take much for the P to bring down my shields and start stripping away my hull
With P's its always a matter of Hit and dont get hit. And with EBC thankfuly its not a matter of 'tons of ammo' for P
Now Q's i find more annoying, you realy DONT want to go head on with it, they like to carry some nasty weapons on main, and turrents hit with P's power on sides... and in Hyperion you need to use a crapload of ammo to take them down.
As for fighters... depends on the actual swarm. Big swarm - big trouble, small swarm - little annoyance.
I'm rather at a loss as well, I'm currently doing OTAS missions right now, to earn enough rep to get the Venti, but asides from that, I'm open to suggestions.
I've also purchased marines for my Hyperion (It already came with 3 quite experienced [4 star] Paranid Marines, I bought two inexperienced Argon ones), so I'm open to capture ideas that would not be too difficult.
A Pirate M6 is really not a bad idea. I'll start roaming Pirate alley, looking for a hapless M6 to cap, and write about my experiences.
When I write the next chapter I intend to summarise my OTAS operations, as nothing interesting has happened. Some very easy battles and escort missions, that's about it.
Lol I once tried working for Terrracorp doing a escort mission in a very under sheilded and underarmed buster. It didnty go well stupid Terracopr cant they protect there own frighters.
It is to be continued, but a lack of anything exciting happening (*Yawn* OTAS missions are boring as heck), coupled with a lack of time as the end of uni term comes up has brought it to a standstill just now.
However, I'll be glad to take suggestions on what I should do now.
Go on, you all know you want to give me some suggestions as to where Tupman should go.

Seconded. Someone poisoned you after all, so time for a bit of excessive revenge - 'termination with extreme prejudice', I believe it's called - exterminate every single Paranid & you're bound to have got the one that did it somewhere along the way...
