I am sorry about not updating this and a few of my other projects as I promised I would do. In the past few months, several things happened that either kept me busy or kept me from having the ability to continue my work. I apologize for it. I will try to work on ITS as well as my Weapon Select Extension soon.

You're welcome. Stay tuned for a new version some time in week after next. I get paid this Friday so I should be able to buy the parts necessary to allow me to play/test my plugins again.

How is everyone doing with my plugin? Are there any complaints? And propositions?
Specifically, are there any search functions (race, class, type, string) that you use most often or the least?
Please take the time to rate this plugin.

Finally, the new version is out. I have rewritten everything a few times now and tested till I could not test anymore. I could not find any errors, but it would be hubris to say that there definitely aren't any. If this is to be included in the Superbox, I would like as many people as possible to test out every function in every possible way. Find a way to break the blasted thing!

Updated to version 1.50
- Version 1.50
- Reworked Category/Target hotkey scripts.
- Added Saved Targets Menu.
- Added Saved Targets Multi-Press Hotkey.
What this Does...
Adds two (2) new hotkeys:
- ITS: Saved Menu
- ITS: Saved Target
- This hotkey has up to ten multi-presses.
To use the Saved Targets Menu, press the Saved Menu hotkey to bring up the menu.
- If you have a ship or station selected that is not already saved, the option Save Current Target will be available. With this, your target is saved to its appropriate array.
- The option Save New Target will bring up a user input which will let you select a ship or station. If the selected object is already saved, the action will be canceled.
- The option Edit Saved Targets will take you to a sub-menu which allows you to remove all saved targets or individual targets from their respective arrays.
- Multi-Press Menu will take you to a sub-menu which allows you to set up the multi-presses.
- If you have targets already saved, the targets will be listed under the Saved Ships or Saved Stations headings. Selecting one of these options will target the object if it is in open space and your sector. If it is docked, in a different sector, or no longer exists, the parentheses will say so.
How to Use...
To use the Multi-Press Menu, select its option in the Saved Targets Menu. This sub-menu will show you the ten multi-presses. Select one of the options to take you to the Assign Press Menu.
- The option Assign Press ## will always be available. It will be the only option if nothing is currently assigned to the press slot. Pressing this will take to you a list of your saved targets. If something is already assigned to the slot, it will ask for confirmation to overwrite.
- The option Move Press ## will allow you to move the key press to another slot. If something is already assigned to the slot you choose, it will ask for confirmation to overwrite.
- Remove Press ## will remove the key press.

Okay, now I'm not sure if the error I've found is really an error or not. Will someone please download, go into a sector either with all elements or place them yourself with the cheat pack.
You need, NPC ship, enemy ship, player owned ship, NPC station, enemy station, player owned station, flying ware, asteroid, and gates. Try using the Previous/Next Category hotkeys and tell me what happens.

Okay, I found the errors and fixed the little bastards. Anyway, I did not increment the version number since no new features were added.
Updated to version 1.50-ish
IF YOU DOWNLOADED VERSION 1.50 BEFORE AUGUST 15, 2009 AT 1400 CDT (UTC - 0500), DOWNLOAD THE FILE AGAIN
I apologize for the idiocy of the errors; I cannot believe I did not find those before I released it the first time.

So, is this working right for everyone? Did everyone who downloaded 1.50 before August 15, 2009 get the revised version?

I just got this a couple days ago and I gotta say it's been useful. I was wondering if it's possible to configure it so that when I hit "next category" it will cycle through different classes of enemy ship (on category will be m5, the next is m4, then m3, then m6, then m7, m2, m1, then tp, ts,tm, etc etc). I saw that you can narrow the search down by category but I want to be able to switch between enemy ship classes easily. Narrowing down the category would only allow me to search through one type of enemy ship class without using the menu if I understand this correctly.

Thanks for this script, it is a big help. One beef I have with it though is that if I manually select a target by using the egosoft target key, either on the sector map or ingame, the target usually switches after half a second to a seemingly random enemy vessel. Extremely annoying if I for example try to target a neutral vessel or a crate with an enemy still in sector. Any possibility to deactivate that?
Evem worse is that this also happens in battle if I manually select the enemy flying right in front of me ... I have to hit the "next target" key frantically to try to cycle to it.
Also, I just switched the entire Split race to enemy, and the target locked itself to one now enemy civilian vessel. Both the next/previous category and next/previous target hotkeys only re-selected this single vessel, as did applying the egosoft target command on any ship in sector.

drugfreeboy: This is a possibility. I may do that and have it be configurable through the config menu.
Mailo: It sounds like you have Auto-Target Enemies turned on. Open up the main ITS menu and select that option to turn it off. This feature is to be used during battle so that you can target the closest enemy or the closest enemy with enough power to destroy you. If that is not on, then I'll try to reproduce it.

I just did a complete un- and reinstall of X3TC, which of course included a reinstall of the target script. I also deleted my savegames and started up a new game, again the hotkey "next target" is missing from the controls menu, I can't assign it.
