free ship co-ordinates
Hey everbody. I got a problem with this script. I have a giant list of co-ordinates for free ships but when i one nothing is there. Nyanas hideout was my first and nothing the second was omicron lyrae. I know that the numbers are in meters. Has anyone else found any problems?

Why should we create ships when there are already tons of the available?Skite wrote:Because it is a step between administrating possible script-created ships (exact IS coordinates wouldn't have been necessary) and cheat-finding all free ships.
If you are going to cheat, you might as well just create a fleet of K's and Q's for yourself, play ten minutes, then uninstall the game when it becomes boring.
This script helped me figure out how certain other scripts worked. I wouldn't call it a cheat.
After all, anything can be a weapon, but that does not make wielding a keyboard in public a violation of the law. (Read: in most western countries)
I would really love a script which finds all the ships without a pilot, assigns them to the pilot and sends them to the HQ for repairing and resupply.

The ships this script looks for aren't in the game anymore. This makes the script appear that it is not working.
I have modified it (original credits to Grax and Cycrow) to work with AP.
This script reveals all sectors, asteroids, gates, then places satellites at all abandoned ships and tuning crates. Hope you can use it.

You will have run the script manually from the script editor.
Place this file into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Egosoft\X3 Albion Prelude\addon\scripts
or wherever you installed the game.
Enable the script editor by changing your players name to "Thereshallbewings". Make sure to type two l's, it wont let you type them back to back without a delay. Then go into the script editor by hitting 'y' then 'C' then 's'. Find the script (highlight it), then hit 'r' to run it. Hit enter until it gives you a message saying the satellites were placed. Take note of the locations. If you dont want to have a modified game, delete the script from the directory and reload your game.
Someone else posted a different script to do basically the same thing on the forum recently. You might want to try that one also.

Grax's script works perfectly fine in AP...
It does not use static ship lists, it actually scans the universe for ships with no pilot, it works well (at least for me) with AP.
If you shoot ships and make them bail then run find ships it will even put those in the message log. If you are not finding the ships then you are either in the wrong system or at the position.

Very strange it seems to work perfectly OK for me in AP as it did in TC.
Not sure about the external log file, but the in game message log gets written to for me :/.
Maybe I'm special
I have the SPK version marked... "Find Free Ships" Version 2 (26/11/2008).
I did download this quite a while ago for TC so I'm not sure if anything has changed since.

That's the same version I have. In any case, it doesn't matter anyway because apparently there aren't any free ships in AP. I used Moxx2's script (which works in AP) and flew out to an "abandoned" ship that it marked, even though I had read someone else's post that said AP took them out entirely.
Looks like that person is correct: They're not actually abandoned, just bugged and floating with "unknown pilots," so you can't actually claim them.
