He specifically said a "printed" manual--e.g. a physical book you can hold in your hand.
My bad... mind you it's only good until you lose it or spill some form of beverage on it...
Ah, but then comes the enjoyable challenge of trying to interpret whether the stain's the letter T or just shaped like the Letter T. I'm somewhat an expert in the art of.... So we put the threads together. ;)

There is so much repetition going on at the moment that it's not possible to keep a track of who posted what first, so it might just be bad luck that yours is the thread that gets locked or moved. If I see two threads the same on the front page of the forum, the one with the most descriptive title will be the one that survives. And that's exactly what will happen, they'll release crappy localised version half year from now. Just like with X3. Don't want localisation and don't want to wait that long.

Play.com and amazon doesn't ship to Poland, Steam is out of question for me as well. Only option was to order it through egosoft shop. Had not get my copy yet but it is said that it was sent 15.10, so I expect it to be delivered on monday.

Good luck.

[X3TC] Shipment of game box to south-america

Post by rafaelskywalker »

Hi fellows,

I live in Brazil, and I am wondering if it is safe to buy the game from egosoft, since not even X3 reunion didn't get this far, and i simply hate how steam works.
As an alternative, perhaps some closer store like amazon.com (well, they're still far but one ocean closer to me than german) will sell it someday, they ain't even announcing yet.
Could someone from egosoft please tell me that?

Sorry if this sorta question was posted before, couldn't find this info for myself. I really need to buy this game you see...

Thanks !

I just want to be able to order a hard copy from amazon. I've found that amazon.co.uk is good for this as you can ship to the US, and it doesn't cost *too* much.

I just like to actually have the game in my hands.

As with most every other game I buy, I will probably wait to buy until I'm reasonably sure there won't be any more patches (excluding the optional content).

How to buy DVD of X3 TC game in Canada

Post by Nividium »

Hello,
I would like to buy the X3 Terran Conflict game. I live in Canada and read that Egosoft will only be releasing the game in USA - Canada via the STEAM download system. This is no good for me as I have a very slow internet connection and my Notebook pc keeps shutting down if left unattended for more than 1/2 an hour. Does Egosoft have any plans to make DVD available for USA - Canada ?

I finally gave in and downloaded via Steam as there is nothing anywhere hinting towards a North American CD release. You can try gogamer.com or order from this site, but the hard copy will still be coming from the UK.

On one hand, I can see their reasoning. Via Steam, the game will get MUCH more exposure in the US than it would otherwise. It's been on the front page of the popup Stema news window for weeks.

This saves them the money of replication, packaging, advertising, and distribution in the US.

On the other hand, I have a hard copy of every X series and even my old copy of Elite from the Commodore 64.

If mods are released, I am curious if they will be for hard copy owners only or if they will be compatible with the Steam version. Also, the 1.2 patch is not available on Steam as of yet either since it has to be "Steamed" before it's applied tot he game via Steam.

I hate it that I had to digitally download the last chapter that has kept me entertained for years, but my guess is that many things will be going to digital distribution eventually.

I was at least hoping that they would haev put it up on Direct2Drive.com, but they didn;t even do that :(

Nividium, I'm also from Canada, and personally I prefer a hard copies of my games which is why I won't use steam. I've been searching for any online retailers that carry X3: TC as well as Transport Giant, or maybe X: gold to finally get X-Tension (not likely) so i'll post what I find. So far I've found:
http://www.gameplay.co.uk/
http://www.game.co.uk/
The cost would be somewhere around £29.94 (£24.99 for the game, £4.95 for S/H) which translates to about $61.67 CAD. Not sure about customs, I didn't see anything in particular for PC games and software. Video games were listed as free though.

If I can link a couple more non North American release games to it, I might order it online to make use of the cheaper delivery costs, otherwise i'll wait and see what happens. If anything, I'll wait for the updated CP free version to come out like I did with X3:R, although that's more for not having to download X number of patches. Tages isn't factoring into my buying decision as strongly as Starforce had. :)

For any Australians wondering, EB games will be stocking it officially on the 23rd here. But it will be actually int he Stores on the 22nd, so if you go in then, they'll probably just sell you it then, like they have with other releases that come out early.

I spoke to them today, they gave me that line 'we wont get to many copies in though, so if you want to guarantee you'll get it, you should place a pre order'

As if they are the only video game store in the country

Gogamer thread

Post by The Great Destroyer »

I just looked at my order status & it appears to have changed, not to mention Gogamer appears to have copies of the game as well.Since this likely the only place in the US that sells the game I was wondering what everyone's order status is if you're in the US.

Just a headsup for the Belgian posters/lurkers:

Gamemania (www.gamemania.be) still has X3:TC slated for a 31 October release. I have pre-ordered a copy and they will notify me as soon as the game hits the shelves. There's a chance that the game might be available in the shop this Friday, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

In case anyone found the game in another store (Freerecord shop, Fnac, Droomland, Bart Smit, ...), please share that info. :)

Any ideas how long it can take for a pre-ordered game to arrive to the US? I wonder if anybody in the states have already received the game....

I don't know how long it will take for sure. I have an e-mail from Egosoft from yesterday that says its already in the mail.

The USPS says a package mailed TO germany from the US takes about 2 weeks. (at the $12 rate, I'm pretty sure they didn't go for the faster, $25 option). That means by about Friday of next week.

Let us hope we get lucky and its here sooner :)

I got my X3TC from Steam, in addition to the pre-order from Ego.

The only gripe I have about Steam, is that they screw up the 1.2 patch, leaving me with a Modified tag (and no fault of mine, I don't use script). Yeah I know that the remedy is to restart the game, but I have progressed far enough to do that. About the only thing that restarting the game gives you is the bragging right with your game stats.

The other thing is that I still can't post in the Spoiler or Tech Support forums. even though I am a legitimate X3TC owner.

The last thing is that you can't print the manual from PDF. The Dark background used in the PDF just jam the printer, and this is no laughing printer. It is a HP Color Laser printer at work, not your home LaserJet one.

The restriction on the spoiler forum was lifted last night (at least for a little while). Enjoy.
