some who deserve life receive death. Others who deserve death receive life. Can you give it to them? Don't be eager to deal out death in judgement, for not even the wise can see all ends.

As for Feran, he's still alive and kicking (probably some minion) :) Doesn't get much of an appearance in this story but he has ways of making his presence felt...
yeah the scruffin farm........ just sorry he wasn't khaak food .

very nice Merc. I wonder if they will attack or not. There is nothing to suggest either way at the moment. Unless you think that sending fighters is a sign of aggression. Witch really, it's not because Tor and the crew are in their space.

Very well written yet again :D One can feel the tension building up, almost apprehension of what may happen. Good to see Tor subtly putting his foot down in front of the station managers and Parrel's support.
I like the 'not perfect but close enough' :D You have been around foreigners for too long

Looking forward to the next part!

Excelent.. as said before, well writen, though i do have reservations about the repeated names in one paragraph. ThaGorack and ThoBeight are said far too much.. but then I cant think of anyother way to word it.. other than mindless back-forth dialogue which really isnt you. Hmm, perhaps a point to improve on then. Good development, Tor looks to be getting his act together a little, and seems, for all his disinterest in life at the moment, to be a bit more knowledgable than we've known him to be.
Looking forward to finding out how the warships are going to handle the shuttle.

Very interesting read Merc, I like the veiled threats to ThaGorack from his father (well maybe not so veiled), Mohraban politics at work.

Some nice tension building up with the 'visible' fleet, I am wondering if the testing of the aliens is still going to happen.

The other question I missed earlier too, which stars? will the Mohrabans be heading too, have to wonder if they may all be populated by Khaak now tho!

Good to see Tor getting it right too :) he's just fine when under stress eh? .

I do hope you haven't forgotton that assasin, we've heard nothing about him since he was making plans for a new career, and you did say something about a murder being linked to this.

Anyways looking forward to reading about this meeting, and much more too :D

The assassin is just biding his time and waiting for the right moment.... Needless to say life for Tor is about to take a few nasty turns in the very near future...

Cheers,

Always good to see a new reader, :D. There's a second story available which if you follow KiwiNZ's sig link has downloadable .pdf and is in chapter form on a couple of the X series fan sites.

Excellent read and very atmospheric! Well, let's hope Tor cannot foresee the future, that'd rather nasty. But anxiety in his situation is nothing too surprising, even more so considering his personality and current position.

Looking forward to the next chapter. This one left more questions open than it answered :D

"the distance as the gap" - needs comma after distance

"Sweety voice gently commented"

"Stations and ship burning"

ooo, good ending. I was just about to ask for an ETA on the ending, but your 1 step ahead :o Good conclusion.. looks like Tors personal life on the station hasnt improved, but then he does have a lot on his mind. Wouldn't you with warships, far more technically advanced than your own, heading your way?
Looking forward to Ch4  :D

O, and dont work Tor too hard, he is allowed some time off.

Tors anxiety about the future certainly clouds a fair bit of his judgemnt where it comes to the people around him

Corrected cheers..

Lovely nightmares, seems awhile since we heard anything from Sweety, nice to know she's still there, even if she's finding freedom a little less than expected.

Can hardly wait to see whats happening aboard the shuttle and what those warships get up to when they arrive, i'm figuring the coms blackout is part of the testing, certainly is very testing having them baring down like this with no comunication at all. Not sure I could sit around and just wait for them to act, i'd have all ships out and loaded for battle :)
