When I read this poll the first thing that came to mind was the way I got Elite for the Commodore 64.
A nice box including a manual with quite some humor, a refference card and a short novella wich I must have read for a hundred times.
I wouldn't mind at all getting X2 the threat comming to me that way :D

Cheers,

Well, I have already got a T-shirt, so I don't need another one at the moment. And I want to explore the X-Universe on my own in the next game, I don't need a map therefore (if something like the normal in-game
map is included again).
But I like manuals and novels in case they are printed on paper and not only burnt on CD.
Actually, this all doesn't matter, but PLEASE don't send just a CD in a jewelcase without any manual.

I'd like a box with a CD case (of course) and a manual that is like the BTF one (IE: keys, items and race descriptions). Plus a book that is set in the universe but doesn't give away the game story, and a poster that I can put up on my wall and receive comments from my housemates about how much of a geek I am. (they do that all the time.)

that's about it, really. the basics, with a few things extra for fun.

Oh! how bout a ship model? like on some games with models of characters, maybe a ship model or a model of a generic member of a race! haha and the price goes waaay up!

How bout this Steel,

I want X2 in Santa's sleight, This FREAKIN' Christmas. Picture all of us good little xers, waking up Christmas morning, with a nice Egosoft package under the tree.

Christmas would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Except for Rusty, Grimm and Vader, Santa told me they have been bad.

not so much a novella, but a decent enuff manual without giving it away, and deffinately a poster-map

poster-map a big must ... but again, without giving to much away?? could have it folded and sealed or sumthing so peeps dont see it first thing, and they can choose when to open it up themselves ........ or is that asking too much?

Duno bout other prople but i'd have it either in a slim line case with like an x-btf styley manual not to much to give away type. Or i'd like it in a box with a huge thick manual were 1 part tells you the basics and the other part is like a bit of a spoiler. New weapons equipment e.t.c
Perfection could be found in what Torch said above. ;)

No option for stright forward DVD case and manual,

I am of the firm beliefe big stupendously oversized boxes should be banned, and all rounded up and sent to island to rot together in unsold hell ... well maybe not that extreme but I do much prefer the uniform practical storage of DVD style cases, even if it is double depth to acomodate more manuals etc (Baldurs Gate 2 style) but please no big cardboard shelf hogs ;-) :D

box with all the dangley extras is cool too but inevatably that is reflected in price and I personaly want a game not a makeover for me and my home :-P

You missed off the 'Served to me on a sliver platter NOW' option, so I'll have to say, Don't mind what box style we get. A good descriptive acurate manual with script advice, and tutorials would be good.

A poster....well not a map, I wanna find out for myself, but a picture of some nice ship's overlaid with members of each race would be Very cool.

Novella. Well if it's gonna be on the disc, it's not worth the cost hike to print it.

T-shirt. WAY to much, probably a tenner on the price, so no thanx.

A nice gimmic instead would be something like the X2 logo as a keyring.

That's my 2p worth anyway.

Plain brown wrapper works for me!

Don't need any big clunky manuals or maps........that's what the beta testers are here for

I'd like to see the bare essentials: i.e. a box with a CD and basic manual. I'm definitely in favour of fiction on the CD but not too bothered about seperate novella.

I think that now that X will be in the 3rd game, there is a reasonable expectation that the manual should be more substantial than the X-btf one (where everything was new and alien).

AS someone else said, if I want a T-shirt, I'll get one from the online shop!

And thats about it.

Al
