They aren't dependent on the PHQ, at least certainly not in not plot game-starts.
The appear quite frequently, but have no 'accept' button, just some info
about crates that are in a named sector, you then have to go & find the crate.
(normally up to +/-150 km in y or z)
They are continuously repeated (at least until you go get them, I think)

I used a TL and 6 M5's. parking the TL at the center and send the M5's out along each axis, but that was after seeing the BBS messages letting me know what sector"s" to look in.
I had applied an engine and a couple rudder tunings to a Hyperion, With the extra rudder tunings the M7 is much more fun and usefull as a personal ship.
I also added engine and rudder to a python.
with both ships the added speed is nice but the rudder upgrades are the biggest improvement. making both much more fun to fly.

@ Skyblade - see I always assumed that it was either one of these:
If what you say is true, I'd suggest using SETA and a fast ship because that's going to take some time just looking for that crate.

Hi Guys,
maybe not the "honest" way but the salvage network script can help you here.
You can use it, among other things, to tell you if a sector (where you're in, or where you have a sattelite, has an unclaimed ship or crate in it.
You still have to go get it though.

Well, you can't buy Pirate versions, only capture them.
Never could see why they are cheaper/quicker to RE & build,
especially since I think typically the Pirate versions are better.
Carlo - you're right about the P/Odin/J, but you do see them flying around,
(i.e. they are in-game) which you don't (didn't) for the Nemi Vanguard.
