Can you make an "unbalanced" version? I'm not a hardcore junky I just like to fly neat ships and to be able to dock TS in my TL and higher carriers and a single fighter or two in the corvette. ( m6? its been awhile since playing x3 and its hard to remember ship designations since they don't make sense anymore anyway)

In other words I dont want the rebalance hardcore crap.

I just want the good features of DDRS, no new weapons or other crap that makes rebalance necessary.

I loved the earlier "unbalanced" DDRS but this is getting worse not better IMHO.

JrStonewall,

Rebalanced is not for everyone, and I suspect most players will continue to play the original "flavor". It is called DDRS Leveled (in recognition of the original "leveled" approach to balancing), and can be found in the original thread - http://forum2.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php ... sc&start=0

Hey, still getting a general "I need to eliminate (random race) scum" but no further instructions... is there something I'm missing here? Shouldn't there be more information? I downloaded the newest version just to make sure this was right, but still no luck...any help would be great. :)

Oh, feedback too, the T'Loth (that's the big one that looks like a couple star destroyers on their sides) makes the game just a wee big slower. Nothing unplayable mind you (not like a previous version with the Ranger and/or the asteroid base that was causing problems...that knocked me out of the mod for a while altogether). Looks pretty neat though...but I'll be avoiding too many of them if possible. :)

Fendalis,

It sounds like a problem I saw during beta testing...turned out to be a quick fix to a script.

However, once I updated my test game...I still had the same problem. I found that I needed to go into the AL menu, turn off the DDRS plugin...wait for a couple of minutes...and turn it back on.

This caused DDRS to re-load it's "brain box", and all was well.

I just checked, and the fix is in the current package.

I'm not saying you have the same issue, but could you try turning the plugin off and back on? Let me know what happens.

ALL: Has anyone else had a similar issue?

All of the main configuration files, and some of the scripts are different. The mods are developed and maintained separately.

If the threads were combined, I would be almost impossible to maintain. For example, a bug report about turrets not firing on a ship in re-balanced will typically not apply to Leveled.

The graphic elements are common, and the core plugin by Red Spot is common...but the ship specs, weapon loadouts, and custom scripts are not.

This is very similar to my old SSG mods for X2, where there were different versions, with different game play characteristics...but common graphic models for the ships and stations.

Each unique version of SSG had it's own thread, since the bug reports were specific to the version. This is the same situation I have with Rebalanced and Leveled.
Fine just checking, it's just not all that clear. Not being a DDRS user, all I could see was 2 seemingly identical threads.

Yep, I did indeed scroll down (I've been the goomba who didn't scroll down before...learned that lesson). :)

Will try the turn it off, then turn it back on thing. Will let you know how that works.

I thought it might be a general "just go kill some of that race" so I got a paranid one and wiped out most of Trinity Sanctum. No luck. I'll nab a screenie if the off and then back on trick doesn't work.

On a side note...is anyone else utterly amazed by how often "turn it off and turn it back on" actually does work to fix things?? It's stunning how successful that strategy can be.

Hello DeadlyDa

Just a question about G'Quan what is the skin color for this ship. Cause in my G'Quan in the rebalanced DDRS mod is black dull red and a dull green when not in the direct starlight and black and a green or a silver color. Or is this the right color. Because I really like the black and whatever color the most.

Know about that M7 in that mod of yours it is perfect is there a chance we could talk you into making a big brother or sister for that ship in a M1, M2, or TL class with a hanger for more ships. Also this is to RustiSwordz love your ship design's keep up the good work

Starscream99,

Actually, the G'Quan was the first time I really "stepped out", and tried to do custom DDS texturing. I found that I actually liked the way the G'Quan textures sort of "morph" under different lighting...and decided to stick with it.

Glad you like the Naginata...I'm planning to do a full series of ships on the Naginata theme. However you'll have to be patient, since the "todo" list isn't getting any shorter

Okay, here's a screenshot of the problem mission...I shut the plugin off, turned it back on, and when I got this mission (chose the third option at the bottom) no further info was forthcoming. Hope this helps....

Hope that works... :)

Edit: Okay, it works. Just copy the link and paste it to your browser...clicking on it doesn't seem to work...not sure why.

Here's a thought on it, actually. That was under my plot start, but seeing as I can't do the plot anyway because of how horrible that city-scape mission is, I restarted under a non-plot start (granted some money and a trading ship by the Split Tribunal(TM) for my trouble) and got to the asteroid base. Took a mission, and it worked out fine with the additional message with further details. So I'm guessing it has something to do with not finishing the plot.
Hope that helps. :)

I'm having the same problem with the leveled version of ddrs 2.4a. I haven't figured it out yet. I'm using a non-plot game.

swoopinghawk,

I think I now know what the problem is...I'll check it out when I get home from work tonight.

The reason it is taking me so long to run it down is that it does not effect everyone.

To DeadlyDa

Sorry to bother you, but on your little info on your M7 Naginata says that
it can load gamma kyon emitters. but in my game it had no g.k.e in any slot so was this something you decided not to put in or just forgot to. any how still one of my fav M7 in the whole modding community.

oh on your coustom skins keep it up love the G'Quan colar changing also because of your answer to my last post realised what I will call mine MORPH.
