Ok got it now. Had some issues with getting this script to run because of my german version.

but I still dont know how to hire pilots. I am using the "list avail. pilots" cmd and it works. So I get a list with 9 Pilots i.E.

I go to hire pilot, choose the correct sector and enter the pilots no (in this case 1-9). But I get always the same error message: Cannot establish link to sector or something like this.

Yep, I fell for that too. The sector name is where the pilots are from - not where you have to meet them. You have to target the sector you are in.

any conflicts

Post by balogt »

if there are any conflicts ill try to work em out, i read there was a sheild stunt conflict...as i havnt used that script i wasnt aware. i use several scripts/mods and thus far it hasnt been an issue. as far as the cycrow install...its not really needed here. all you do is copy the scripts into the scripts folder and the /t file in the t folder. SORRY about the missing readme file ill put in my real pilots addon im working on :)

add on will have pirates///and some custom folks all with their faces

mira mirani/don marani
the goners..ion baltter etc etc
even kyle brennen..getting him working was fun so i made him have super extreme skills.

saya kho as saya kho..some of you might notice there is a chance of
getting here already if you got her.
brett sera(at least his face when he was alive)
and many more

BTW i did not make the origional real pilots scripts, all im doing is modding them for x3 and adding some stuff to them.

cheers

no , if i spemd another second tryin to get this to work im gonna spontaneously combust

its a clean game install with just this script, nothing else (apart from 1.3 update)

i see nothing apart from a new tab called `piracy` :? :?
i bought every police licence, i took 3 different ships to every races equip dock in the game and made sure they had every last piece of equip on board as is possible.

i then took the mamba , buster and disco into every core sector (with a trading station) of every race and checked commands while sitting in each ship, nothing but a new one called `piracy.`

i try that one anyway, nothing!

so then i docked every ship at every trade station with me in in and checked commands, nothing!

after 3 days im sad to say ive give up until somone says somthing i havent tried cuz atm im totally confused :? :?

i expect its me being dumb

i take my hat off to script writers, this has been the most frustrating experience ever in my gaming history (slight eggageration  ) but i tel you the loading, trying, savin, quiting, loading , saving, quiting, loading has driven me up the wall...........god only knows wot its like to write one when i cant even play one.

fair play to all of you :)

ps my install was done as follows....

put the files in scripts and t folders
started my game
changed name to thereshallbewings
saved game
exited x3
started x3 loaded the save (the script editors is running) and all i see new is a piracy tab

in case your gonna ask

the only thing i can think is the problem is one of the posts says i need the `company command extension software` what the hell is that and where do i buy it....or is it somthing else....is this my problemo??? :?

II. The Commands

Below is the listing of all new commands.
-List available pilots: In order for this command to be used you must first have the Trading System extention and the Company commands system extensions or CCSE installed on your ship. This command can then be used within any friendly or nuetral none pirate sector that has a trading dock. The sectors owner will also require you to have a Police Licence and also be in good terms with the trading dock. Once requirements are met and you have issued the command you will recieve a message detailing the list of available pilots at that sectors trading dock. Each pilot will be listed along with his/her personal record. Personal records will be describe more below in detail. Pilot are not static, they come and go, get hired or get tired of waiting to be hired. So it goes that new pilots will arrive ever so often from planets and other stations and sectors. With each use of this command you will be given an estimate of when the next pilot shuttle will arrive. These shuttles will bring in a fresh load of pilots for you to choose from. Normally there will be around 3 to 6 pilots to hire.

-Report Status:
This command becomes available on all ships once the CCSE is installed. You can enter the command menu of any ship and recieve a status report detailing loadouts and system configurations. If a pilot is aboard this ship you will recieve a more detailed report from him/her personally. Important note...this will cancel what ever command the ship or pilot is currently executing.

-Sector report:
This command is only available on ships with the CCSE installed. It will allow you to recieve an "at a glance" listing of all ships in flight in the sector chosen. Details that are listed in red are extensions that need addresing. Such as badly damaged hull or missing engine tunnings. Also listed is things like what type of scanner is aboard, if the ship has life support, and if a jumpdrive is installed. Note outside the jumpdrive indicator and in brackets is the number of jumps left in energy cells aboard that ship.

-Transfer/Rescue
These commands become available on all your ships with the Navigational software Mk1 installed once you have the CCSE installed on anyship. These commands allow you to do two things. One you can target your pilots in space and have them pickuped by a rescue ship. Only one ship can be assigned to pick up a specific pilot at a time. With this command you can also transfer your pilots from one ship to another. Only "battle class" (described below) ships will allowed to have pilots in the cockpit. And TP class ships will be able to transport as many pilots as they have space in their passenger holds. To start the command first decide what pilot you would like to transfer and the ship he/she is currrently on. If the pilot is a passenger you will first need to reciece a status report back from the ship in order to get the "seat number" of the pilot you wish to transfer. This number is very important, make note of it. Now you must choose the ship that will reciece the pilot. You will recieve in flight instructions and if all the requirements are met the ship will the begin to travel to its target useing Jumpdrive if available. There are six types of transfers describle below:(Seat means in the passenger hold and Cockpit means that pilot is at the ships controls.)
-Seat to Seat or (SS): This is a TP passenger seat to TP passenger seat transfer. You must choose the Pilot Reference Number or PRN of the pilot you wish to transfer and he/she will be move to the targeted ships passenger hold. If no seat number is chosen then the pilot in the first seat will be transfered. Important note: Zero or "0" will always represent the pilot that is at the ships controls.
-Cockpit to Seat or (CS): To transfer a pilot from the cockpit of a ship to the passenger hold of a TP class ship you must enter "0" as the Reference Number. This transfer only takes place if there is already a Pilot in the cockpit of the recieveing ship and the recieveing ship is a qualified pilot transport ship.
-Cockpit to Cockpit or (CC): This transfer will take place if there is a pilot in the commanded ships cockpit and no pilot in the target ship. You must enter "0" as the Pilot Reference number.
-Seat to Cockpit or (SC): If a TP has multiple pilots aboard this type of transfer can be used to get your pilot into the cockpit of another ship if the ship has no pilot. Choose the PRN of the chosen pilot and then the ship.
-Seat to Cockpit, Cockpit to Seat or (SCCS): This type of transfer will allow you to effectively swap your chosen pilot with the pilot in the cockpit of the targeted ship.
-Swap or (SWP): If two ships both have a pilot this type of transfer will effectively swap pilots.

-Hire/Reassign
This command becomes available on all ships that can transport pilots weither at the controls or in the passenger bay once you have a ship equiped with the CCSE. You must first issue the "List available pilots" command to recieve a list of all available pilots. Pilots that are for hire will be listed at the top of the list and pilots that work for you, that have ejected and landed safely at a station and are awaiting reassignment will be listed at the bottom. Make note of the Pilot Reference Number that preceeds each pilot listed. This is the number that must be entered in order to command your ship to hire/reassign the pilot. Only one ship can be assigned to pick up a specific pilot at a time. That means you can hire as many pilots as you can at a time, but only one ship can be assigned to a single pilot and only if that ships command is changed can another ship be assinged to that specific pilot.

-Pilot Cmd
This command is only available from ships that have the CCSE installed. First select this command, you will then be asked to enter the Command Code. Once the CC is entered you then must choose the trageted ships. Below is a list of proper commands. The first listing is the Command name, the second is the abreviated name and the last is the command number. Only one of the three must be entered. Note: the full command names are always all lower case. The simbol "" means you just press enter, meaning you enter no value or number.
-tactics control or TC or 1: this will give control of your pilot over certain combat situations. Such as missile usage, the new Engine Tunning Booster, and freedom to choose another target if there exist a target that is considered by the pilot to be a worser threat. To tell if a pilot is ordered to Command at WIll or not just ask for a report from the pilot.
-report or R or "": This will ask the pilot or ship to send you a report. This has the same effect at the above mentioned "Report Status" command except the commanded ship does not stop its current action. It will send you an report and continue with its duty.

-Tactics Command
This works as the above Pilot Cmd, except it is only available in ships with a pilot aboard. This command will interrupt what ever the pilot is currently doing. It is best to use the above Pilot cmd to prevent unwanted interruption of a pilot command.
-Company cmd
As with the Pilot cmd this command is only available on ships with the CCSE installed. It has a similar funtion except the commands are more global in effect.
-gun command or GC or 1: This command will global give your ships the Fire at Will command. Meaning they can use what ever guns they have as they see fit. They will use Ions to lower a ships shielding, or Mass drivers if shields are up and hull is almost gone. If your ships are ordered to Hold, they will only use the guns that have been assigned to them by you, even if other guns are available on the ship.
-company report or CR or 9: You will recieve a report on the current status of your company. Among the stats listed will be number of pilots hired and amount of wages paid thus far.
-company name or CN: This command will allow you to change the name of your company to what ever name you choose. Your company name appears in the company report listing and because of the Employe Act of 1212 it will appear on bulletin board systems across the galaxy stating that the listed pilot was hired by your company. This is a "dual select" command and works as follows. First enter this command code mentioned above. Then enter your new Company name. You will here a message from Betty stating the command was accepted and the computer is now ready for your next command. Note the very next command you enter, no mater when it is, that command code will become your new command name.
-presidents name or PN: Similar to the above command except the name changed is your own. This can be your actual name or a title/name you would like your pilots to refer to you as.

III. OverView and Hints

-Rudder Optimisation: While the player may find it difficult to manuever in ships with lots of steering the X2 AI has a blast with it. It is best to keep ships that you want be flying at max rudder. This will allow the AI to better evade enemy fire and missiles and to get a quicker lock on thier targets.
-Cargo bay life support: Ships that are transporting pilots that are in combat and the cargo bay life support gets damaged will use its emergency back up to keeps its passengers alive. While this will allow you to continue to transport passengers no new passengers or pilots can be picked up.
-New cargo "Company Pilots": Ships that are transporting your pilots will have a new cargo called "Company Pilot". The ship will have as many Company pilots aboard as it does pilots. There is a safety override that will prevent the ejection of Company Pilots if you attempt to do so.
-As the prerecorded voice files is limited to what they say it is best to turn on subtitles if you wish to see what your pilots are saying to you. Also each message will be quoted in your logbook.
-as of this version, pirates can not be hired.
-Ships that have pilots in the cockpit will have a small * our beside the ships name. This is so you can better keep track of what ships have pilots already. The * can be manually removed or it will be removed if the pilot is transfered from the ship. Also TP class ships that are transporting pilots will have a [bracket] out beside he ship name to show how many pilots are aboard that ship.

IV. The Pilots

Each pilot will have a random face and voice when hired depending on race and gender. The average cost of a pilot is (100 credits * level / 2). Once you have hired your first pilot you will begin to recieve an annual report every 12 hours. This is also when you must pay your pilots. When a pilot sends you a report it will include things such as level, the amount of on the job experence, how much experience needed to reach the next level, how many ships the pilot has lost, how many kills the pilot has made, and how many captures and the below listed stats. Stats are pernament and do not go up with levels. Although a pilot's level and morale does add bonuses to these stats.

Pilots stats:

-Reflexes: This deteremines the pilots quickness at the controls...it effects things like reaction timeing, safe ejection, how fast they can swap guns, defence move intensity , and certain skills like Missile Blast and missile defence. The order of ability is eXtreme,Keen,Average,Slow, and lastly Delayed.

-Prowess: This determines the pilots overall space combat knowledge, courage, and determination...it effects how well a pilot executes an attack run, missile selection, determining best target to attack, and missie defence. The order of ability is eXtreme, Valiant, Average, Timid, and lastly Lacking.

-Favoured ship class: A pilot at the command of his favoured ship class will gain a bonus to experienced gained.

-Pilots Name: The pilots name will show its current rank and its number of kills listed in [brackets] at the end of the pilots name.

cheers

i case your worried about me.....

i thought it best to tell you , hurrah, i have found the software....took some doing and i nearly gave up after checking mant core sector trade docks (trinity sactum, ministry of finance.

just before ejecting my pc out the window i tried argon prime and woooohoooo its there.

so i bought it, got the list of pilots and bought one who likes m5`s :P

the cheeky git ended up in my mamba.....i didnt have the instructions to hand and everything i tried failed to move him out into the disco i bought ....so i had to get in the m5 myself and give him my ship

anyway...i decided to lay waste to argon prime as i had to go out shortly.....but he never fired a shot.....scaredycat!!! :D

he he ill go back in when i get home from the pub armed with the instruction on this page and see if i can build a nice squad.

so far it looks excellent. although it said my mamba was capable of 390ms with tunings (if i read it right) if that is so that is the one thing ive found i dislike as i am not into tunings and whatnot....but thats a small price to pay for this good lookin script.

keep it comin :) :)

for those who love the endless feel of space ill make my x3 map available with tons of new sectors and a new gate (wing commander privateer concept) idea. 1. gates need to be traveled to....ie.LONG RANGE. this gives the feel of each sector being something important to be in. 2. some gates (to new unknown areas) are hidden on the other side of planets etc etc.... this map can make you appreciate the sector your in.

email me if you want it. it should be done soon. im just play testing it now..if the plot worked on my computer id be able to say for sure my map does not interfear with it, but the plotdoes not work on my modded or totally unmodded install(s) wierd eh.

Little update:

Found the Company Command Software and hired a nice pilot (looks like Saya Kho) to fly a ship of mine. I'm leveling her up with assassination missions and seeing if she flies / reacts any better. We shall see.

Anyway, it's working as intended thus far, good job.

I have been looking for ages for the CCSE software and still cant seem to find it. Is there any Trading Docks that are more likely to have it as I have tried quite a few so far with no luck. Also when I do manage to find it is it worth hiring a pilot for the ship you are flying eg does it work on the turruts to let you fight better ????

yes if you want to have a hot pilot for the ship while you man the turret get a fella with extreme abilitys in the two skills. my version two will be released as soon as i find the pirate faces, as you can hire pirates now as well as all the main plot characters..there is a random percent chance to get a plot person....including julian :) assuming you use your own identiy in the game. or else theres two of ya. the plots folks all hvae exceptinal skills and are not likely to die...they eject almost 100% if their ship is toast. the pirates will esentially follow your orders like any other pilot..only now they look bad...again as soon as i find their face ref numbers.

CCSE software should be at eq docks and trading stations.. if not script it in..or just give it to yourself via script.

have fun

I dunno if this should be considered a bug or not...

I already had the "Advanced Mineral Scanner" script installed before I installed this one. It seems every instance of the company command software is replaced with the advanced mineral scanner ware. I haven't run into any problems because of this. Just kind of weird I have to install the mineral scanner to get the company commands menu. The company command software isn't available to buy at any station either.

Maybe not a bug, but atleast noteworthy to say its not compatable with the mineral scanner in its intended form.

not sure as i only hire em for m4/5 and i pick pilots that prefer those ships.

might be they need to gain xp???....you have read the readme on page two i think it is?

print it and keep it with you...you will need it till you get used to it :D

or maybe cuz the m1 cant get to the pilot?? dunno ill have to try that for you...but to be honest i fou8nd no probs with it so far at all and had it a month

if i remember (been using same wingys for ages) you need to tell the m1 and the pilot where to meet....his readme explains better
