Oh, and the Ministry of Misinformation doesn't apply to either of those? Yet the mods are coming out and sometimes defending MoM! I mean, that's an ultra-mega-stupid contradiction there.CBJ wrote:The two primary reasons for looking to move general clan activity off-site are a) because they tend to dominate the forums which can be quite intimidating for new users and frustrating for non clan members, and b) they are a focus for quite a high number of arguments on the forum which adds a fair bit to the overhead for moderating.
Also, I proved a solution to the latter point, which you refused for reasons I posted on the UNCC forum (and got a unanimous, omg that's stupid even from the non-clanners that visit)
"You should take care of your own security" said George Bush to Iraq. This does not mean that clans are not welcome, nor that their members are not welcome, simply that these forums are not currently an appropriate place for large inter- and intra-clan discussion threads. These threads were moved here to give you the opportunity to retain a presence in the form of an RP thread but, as you have pointed out, this has turned out to be easier to conduct on your own forums.
Two minutes work.... to keep the most dedicated members of the community and the ones who will keep any future MMO alive (and trust me, it's the clans who keep MMOs alive, not the people who never play it... I PLAY/TEST/RUN alot)When EGOSOFT has a multi-player game in the pipeline (as opposed to simply planned for an indeterminate time in the future) then I'm sure they will want to make some dedicated space for clan activities on the forums, complete with dedicated moderators and so on, but for now it doesn't make sense for them to do so.
Not a single person... in the hundreds of people IN the clans had noticed that damn things. And we have asked, quite a few times. The admins have never once replied to one of my PMs... related to any issue... that's about a dozen. As previously mentioned, there are links pages accessible from both the homepage of this site and from the "Community" links at the top of every forum page, so I hope you will consider submitting your clan site links for inclusion there. I know you've said no-one ever sees these links, but for anyone seeking to join a clan these are the logical places that they will look.
Sounds like bloody slave labor to me, at BEST. I refuse to take part in X-OU. I'll stick to EvE thank you very bloody much, where roleplaying is not only supported and encouraged, but being out of roleplay in some areas is considered spam.I hope that you will all decide to stick around and continue enjoying the game and contributing to the community as a whole, and that when X-OU is looking a bit more imminent you will still be active here as a group.
I will finish this post with this:
Trying to use logic with the moderators is proving harder than convincing my ex-fiancee to say sorry to me. Despite the fact she cheated on me, used me, lied to me and manipulated me.... she can only think of herself despite the fact I'm the one trying to repair the damage, giving her a second chance at everything and generally, I think, being a ****** amazing person (and it's the first time in my life I've ever said that... I'm not a self-sponsoring person at all.). She finally said sorry last night... yet the mods are proving even more stubborn than her.
Initially, we were organising a mass-leaving of the threads by the 100+ clanners... but instead I just call upon everyone to fight this at every turn. Mods, your authority might be uncontestable... but dedicated members are the base of this forum. Without us, Egosoft will have a lot more to worry about on this forum than a few large (dedicated) clan threads or two minutes worth of work to add an area for it (which we've made clear we'd gladly moderate 24/7).
HAIL UNCC
and f*** the mods
