R.I.P. Skyrim. Bethesda have announced they're moving on and there will be no more DLC/ Expansions for Skyrim. A shame, good though they were another one or two would have been nice.

Ah well let's hope that means they're working on Fallout 4. :)

I hanged on a rack a unique shield - The Shield of Solitude in my Hearthfire home Windstead manor. After I came back to the manor I noticed that the shield was gone :/
Is there any way to bring back the shield via console commands or any other way once it's gone?

Yes. You need to get the item id for the shield (try one of the TES wikis) and then do I think it's "player.addItem <id>" (but check the syntax, again available on several wikis)

No need for a Web search. Skyrim console has a nice help/search feature included - just type 'help "shield of solitude" 0' and you will get all the references.

Looks like someone made a new ENB. Why do people post these vids without a list of mods that they're using?

(That's a joke, btw...)

The real excitement is that it will now be available on current generation consoles. Also, the possibility of mods for consoles, but I wonder just exactly how they're going to do that. Let's hope they don't try the cluster-hump pay-mod root they tried with Steam not too long ago. That was abysmal, with virtually no organization or planning whatsoever.

Presumably they're going to use the same mechanism as the console modding that was just added to Fallout 4.

And people are already making mods that brick your console. *facepalm*

Frankly Im not impressed by the re release of Skyrim. Sure, it looks nice, and the possibility of adding mods to the game is pretty sweet. But is it worth the money the re release will cost?
And should Bethesda be putting its efforts to better use working on future new games. Its not looking like we will be seeing Elder Scrolls VI till at least 2020. Which will be the longest wait between ES games, ever. :(

Anyone heard of Starfield. Apparently a space game Bethesda is working on. Fallout crossed with X, perhaps? I am having high hopes for that one.

Weren't Bethesda making "Planet X" a long long long time ago? Back when Daggerfall was number 1 in the hit parade? Supposed to be using the same or newer engine, about the mysterious 10th planet they found in our solar system?

Unfortunately, googling "Bethesda "planet x"" reveals 44,000 hits. The first few weren't what I wanted, I didn't look at the other 43,989 hits.

Too bad I was too busy working on this to know this forum existed. Skyrim started as a mod to Oblivion. It had it's own webpage and forum until Todd Howard started suggesting in early 2009 it might be grabbed for the next ES property. I was in the group that was saying, "big mistake". I not only got overruled but this ended by attachments to Bethesda. As I thought, Skyrim was "Steamed". Bethesda was dazzled by prospects of the MP community which never really panned out and the lost their single player base which was proven to be falling towards zip when they steamed FONV. The unfortunate truth was it costs much more to insure a property and comply with the IPCC rules in a stand alone build than it does to use a third party compliance mechanism like Steam has became.

Overall the IPCC was an okay idea with the untntended consequence of almost singlehandedly killing PC games, creating laws that demanded an internet connection for registration and authenication and in the process creating an environment that almost demands you build games for consoles.

Some would disagree I know, this is simply the opinion of an insider watching the end of his livelyhood unfold around him. It wasn't a pretty picture then and isn't now either.
