I think the Xbone will be coming out at the end of this year, Plenty of time can be directed at features before then.matthewfarmery wrote:I'm not really sure how this will pan out, I guess they could have done this for new players, but still, is the game really feature complete to be made available for a console?
I'm not really sure on that, by the looks of it, the game is still pretty shallow, so to me, I don't think it will work too well for console players.
I'm happy about this, I hope we can encounter xbox players.
Xbox controller is actually very good at playing Elite: Dangerous, Since you can assign true 6DOF over your ship and experience more control over your ship than even a x52 pro user, like myself...Krusade wrote:Huh, I can't see this working that well on any of the consoles tbh. Sure the basic controls can be mapped to the pad but in my very brief period playing the game (since Sunday) I've regularly been needing extra buttons that my stick simply doesn't have. However if it does work that's great, and if it sells well, that's even better. I'll be sticking with the PC version though.
Speaking of the PC version as I said I only just started playing at the weekend and only really been able to put a couple of hours in the first of which was simply learning the controls (and learning then again when my new stick arrived in the post). I am enjoying the solo experience thus far, I've got no intension of going multi player until I've learned to play the game a bit and got the hang of combat. Not really done much beyond a few delivery missions. Got about 10k in the bank which won't get me far but I would like to start upgrading my little Sidewinder soon. Any advice as to what I should look at upgrading first?
There are 2 joysticks on the xbox controller, 1 is assigned to the rotational axes and the 2nd is assigned to the Lateral thrust. That way true Axis control is felt, Much smoother feeling of control like no other.
The closest you can get to this is a full CH setup where the throttle has a similar joystick on it.
