Funny you mention this sound. I recently thought that this is one of my favorite sounds in the game. I even intentionally try to dock from too far away sometimes, just to hear the sound.
I didn't know Alexei also made the sounds. It doesn't surprise me, he makes the best space sim music. His music adds so much to the feel and atmosphere of the X games.

Will you pretty pretty please change the intro music for 3.0 (something less gloomy and more frenetic like the first one when Rebirth was released) ?

and to pester you a little:
I have some teladi not talking in beta4, report on the way if beta 5 doesn't fix it!

I do apreciatte your feedback on sound producing, keep it up!

Music is such a personal thing it's probably impossible to please all people at any time. Having said that, personally for me, the best intro music and 3d start screen for any X universe game is in X2 The Threat. imo it is a masterpiece of mood setting for a sandbox space game. (by 3d start screen I mean the way the camera pans around as you select different options)

I'm not a fan of 'frentic', or 'gloomy' intro music. X Rebirth intro music was better than X3 TC (and X3 AP the intro screen music which I just despise). X3 Reunion/Bala Gi eludes me at the moment, can't recall it, I'd have to listen to it again, so can't comment.

Hehe. You will also be able to hear such a sound when you try to boost but don't have any shield energy left.

Yeah especially music is a field where people have very different opinions. And in the case of e.g. Fallout 3 i preferred to play without music at all to suck in the atmosphere of the world by only the environment sounds.
