and yet they sent a signal that has obviously been understood by Tehran, and likely Russia, China and every other country on the planet.

Is that worthless?

That the orange one is a lunatic with an arsenal at his disposal and will attack without provocation?

Everyone seems to have forgotten he pulled this the last time he was in office when he assassinated an Iranian general with a drone strike and told us "He was planning bad things. Trust me!". He's just picking on someone that doesn't have the means to truly fight back that no one is really going to give a crap about to make himself look like he's big and tough.

Even the Congress briefing has been cancelled, Which means, that the WH is clearly hiding something, or might not want to admit stuff.
Iran Strike Briefing Is Abruptly Cancelled

Time: “A highly anticipated classified briefing for members of Congress on the United States’ surprise bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities was abruptly rescheduled on Tuesday morning, infuriating Democratic lawmakers and fueling suspicions that the White House is withholding critical information—including early assessments suggesting that the strikes may have only modestly delayed Iran’s nuclear program.”

“The result was a day of visible disarray in Washington. As Trump vented on social media and to reporters, Democrats expressed alarm at his strategy. By day’s end, many were still seeking basic answers: Was the ceasefire truly in effect? Had the strikes achieved its intended goal? And why, after risking regional war, was the Administration refusing to provide them with answers?”
If the WH is withholding information, then what else could they be withholding? And when will congress get that briefing to keep them in the loop? This could be concerning.

So a leak has happened, which contradicts Trump's claims about the strikes. But the WH has hit back to say, that this document was a highly classified intel and was leaked by a low level loser.

But there are questions there, if the intel was wrong, why classify it? and if it was so high, why did a low ranking member has access to it?

So a lot of questions, and very few answers.

To be fair, being low ranked has nothing to do with clearance level and need to know. For example, I held a TS-SCI clearance as early as E-4 in the Navy. It was part of my duties to handle extremely sensitive information related to my duty assignment. And typically mission reports are classified.

Now, I'm not surprised that the Orange one's embarrassments demand coverups. That's pretty on point for him. Remember sharpie-gate? Or Stormy Daniels? etc.?

Point being is that the regime in question lied from the first moment they made any claim right after the strikes was complete - you can't know that the results that fast in that sort of operations with several unknown elements - but that is not a surprise, since if we know anything about current US admin is that they, just like communist regimes during the cold war, will always claim some sort of victory since "they are infallible".

As to who leaked it, that is totally irrelevant. We are talking about people who use telegram to coordinate between departments strikes on Houthis. For all we know, some high level official may have had midlife crises and wanted to impress some cute trainee half his age and she rushed to share it with her journalist friend (this is kinda how this stuff goes half the time).

tbf Trump always lies when it comes to anything he wants people to think positively about *his* claims, it's not even exaggerated, just made up half the time.

Reference literally *everything* the guy says about jobs, economy, immigration and prior administrations :D

The bbc copped a load of false criticisms from the White House press secretary person recently; it was all balderdash, but likely picked on as they regularly use a "fact checking..." style report of things people say.

There's a lot regarding Trump over the time, pointing out how much BS he spews.
