my current - and only - game on X3 TC is over 140 Game Days long, so, you know? Yeah, 'hundreds of hours' is correct.
Edit: Originally I quoted game hours, incorrectly, because I meant game DAYS.
For clarity: 140 Game Days = 24 hours x 140 days = 3360 hours. SETA not included.
Edited errors in my previous Edit: 150 days to 140, and spelling ...

Same. I've somehow logged 1,503 real life hours on X3TC (Steam tracks play time per game), and only played since February 13th of this year. Ah, the joys of drawing unemployment.
Hundreds of hours is most definitely not "untrue."

What part of "real life hours" didn't come through... Steam isn't tracking SETA. It's sad, but it's true. Hundreds of hours is exactly what it sounds like... hundreds of hours.

should it not be almost impossible to take a ship class thats 2 higher than yours? i know i am exaggerating a little but an M5 SHOULD NOT be able to take on an M2, an m5 is cheaper for a reason and although it is nice to take on an M3 in an M5 you SHOULD be dying almost everytime....in my opinion
Yes, a M5 should be able to take out a M3 with enough skill and a bit of patience, or a M4 vs a M6. In fact, beating the odds is the fun part of combat. Clearing a sector with a M7M is easy but gets quickly boring.

Even if it *was* 1500 hours in-game (which he's clearly stated it's not) the maximum amount of time acceleration SETA provides is 10x, so 1503 hours running SETA constantly would be more than 150 real-life hours! And nobody is just going to sit there running SETA continuously for 1500 hours from starting the game, since they wouldn't be able to achieve anything.

The difference between fighter classes should feel "organic", not like it was artificially created. In other words, there is no need for different fighter classes to be so super-different in tersm of stats, with a massive chasm between classes. No head-bangingly huge difference in shield strength, armor, speed or price.

Dear employees of company EGOSOFT, comment please on given value FPS. Whether really we are waited by such quantity of shots in a second? Or it is a joke?
Thanks.

But if you do get an answer (which you may not) it'll only be that that was on an early version of the code before optimisation and system requirements (as has been mentioned in here a couple of times) will only be released nearer to release date...

I hope that there will be a difficulty setting other than start ship & credits. I like the first part of the game the best: struggling in my m5, choosing fights & trades carefully, dog fighting while attacking stronger opponents in the hope you get that slightly better ship.... In TC I had the idea that this was over quite fast, since there were plenty of quick jobs, with quite high rewards. For me this should take a longer time.
M6 were still fun to buy for capturing and fighting, but fighting was aim and shoot, not much skill required. The bigger you fly, the less skill you needed. Maybe later on with big fleets of M1/2/7/6s it will be better, but by then I restarted my game. So I hope the changes in X:R will make flying capital ships more challenging.

That's why I love CMod, it ballance weapon to the point where you can take out M3 with M5 if you're good, but still if M3 will be able to hit you 1 or 2 time you're dead. In vanilla it was impossible because M3 shields regen faster than fully armed M5 could deal dammage.
I hope that X-R will be the first game that won't need CMod, but I somehow doubt it.
What would also be nice is pilot rankings..... So taking out a pilot of rank "captain" would be much harder than taking on that ensign... It would also mean that your AI forces would achieve ranks and higher ranking pilots would be more dear to you..... you wouldnt risk your commander in a suicide mission... it would also make having alot of money less important because you would be able to replace the ship, but not the pilots.

I hope not to see any more as game it is set up under a rank of the player. If in new game (X Rebirth) at a job taking there will be again opponents corresponding on forces to the player, it will be a pity. I trust that now EGOSOFT will work over errors and will create tasks more elaborately. Namely: at a taking of the job for stations, the player should receive the information on level of complexity of the task. That is, for example, having seen an award for destruction of pirates attacking station, at a rate of 30 000 credits, the player will understand that on one fighter here not to consult any more. And, for example, at other station there is a task with payment in 7 000, here most likely it is possible to try. Well or itself NPC giving the job can specify in complexity and not give the job to the "green beginner".

Given the footage is of an Alpha build I really wouldn't be that concerned - there is probably a lot of optimisations to do in both the engine and the models used.
I see something that could change the feel of the universe. To me it appears that instead of flying an unearthly amount of miles and kilometers from station to station, it appears that you will instead be in something that looks more like a city. Just my opinion on this, I could be completely wrong, but I do believe that it is possible.
That aint no city, that's one of the supper stations said to be in the game.
The tiny standalone stations and fabs of old have apparently been replaced by these hulking monstrosities.
