This is Musk you are talking about, he is currently trying to rescue his reputation which has already been flushed down to toilet and this is probably why Trump is not saying anything, as he knows it's all just smoke and mirrors, that Musk is just trying to fool everyone into thinking that he is actually a nice guy and not the knobend that we all know he is. At the end of the day no matter what Musk says and does, he will always and primarily be remembered as the guy who stood on a stage in front of the entire world and did a Nazi salute.

Humpty Trumpty has replied. Aww.
In response, Musk doubled down on X and accused the president of "Such ingratitude", adding: "Without me, Trump would have lost the election".
Popcorn time.

Not denying that, but it seems that Musk is clearly angry at Trump, Trump said, that Musk knew in the inner workings of the bill, better then anyone here. Musk responce
Musk is now responding in real time to Trump on X. He just reposted a video of Trump saying Musk “knew the inner workings of the bill better than anybody sitting here.”
“False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!” Musk wrote.
So while Musk might be trying too regain some esteem, but there is clearly hatred between the two. I don't think Musk is going to let sitting dogs lay. I think there will be more to come. Musk clearly thought, he had bought a president. And with that, a chance of power. But the throne can only be occupied by one. What is interesting, is that Musk isn't as bright as he think he is, this was coming for some time. sure Musk got a lot of out it. But clearly he wanted more. And now Trump has turned his back on Musk. There trouble brewing.

Which probably is true, which means, Musk helped to Trump to get into power, which means the results were indeed rigged. If Musk continues like this, Trump certainly will want Musk to keep his mouth shut.

I haven't seen any actual evidence that Musk rigged anything beyond indirectly paying people to support Trump -- and those antics didn't even help Trump in the election. His influence was just popularity and social influence. Musk has courted deplorables for a while and that put them on the same page, but even then Trump pretty much had the deplorables locked down for the election anyway. So I don't think Trump actually got much from Musk, whereas Musk got policy benefits from Trump. As per usual, someone powerful exploited Trump's ego for their own gain.

Musk donated $288m to the Trump campaign. This kind of spending by private donors may be considered normal in the US, but in most democratic countries campaign spending is limited to prevent candidates from simply buying their way into power.

I guess we may never know what Musk did for Trump, but yes, he did spend a lot of money. But I also think things were rigged in Trump's favour. But I doubt we will never find out the full truth of the matter.

So, Musk has hit out on Trump, and this is pretty big
Elon Musk Escalates His Feud with Trump

Elon Musk on X:

“Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
I suspected Trump will be in those files.

Edit
Lets not forgot, that Musk was given access to a huge heap of classified data, and at least one person in Musk's team has connection to Russia. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that Musk has got a huge amount of dirt on Trump. This newest accusation is probably only the start. But of course, Trump probably didn't realise that at the time. or how damaging it would be to allow Musk access to that data.

Now we are probably about to find out, how much Musk knows about Trump, and what will Trump do about it?

You're right and thanks to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC, corporations can give as much as they want and further thanks to the orange one, who has all but dismantled the FEC, there's no one thats going to stop republicans from using foreign money.

He did allegedly spend a lot on helping Trump get elected - by financial means. But did it swing it?

https://www.dw.com/en/us-campaign-finan ... a-70436716

The amount raised by Harris campaign.
over $1.27 billion has gone toward Harris' campaign war chest.
vs
bringing his total funding to just under $940 million, according to OpenSecrets.
So, realistically, the answer is no.

But... Musk owns Twitter. Personally I'd believe *that* is where the power lay; he who controlled the social media narrative didn't "buy" votes by election money. They "bought" votes by being able to shape, influence, lead (mislead) opinions in preferential directions.

That's hugely powerful. Even our UK Govt uses it as a means to communicate to the masses outside of regular media channels - but in doing so, continues to add/aid legitimacy to the platform that Musk has been using to shape public opinion and sow discontent around the world. He controls the algorithms that drives what you see, so has a direct line to influence the susceptible. And various discontent flair ups show it works.

Screw the funding, Twitter was hugely important imo.

As for Musk vs Trump - I've not opened the pop corn yet; I don't want to peak too early :D This is what (lets be honest) we've all been waiting for :D :D :) Just hoping their egos are such that they ignore the undoubted epic chorus from various advisors that it could be a cripplingly bad idea to go down this path. LET AT IT BOTH!
wouldn't surprise me in the least that Musk has got a huge amount of dirt on Trump.
the amount of dirt around Trump (including court cases and convictions) I have to admire the belief/hope/idea that anything could be revealed at this point that'd have an effect :D :D :D

My work day was utter stress - as it's been for the last few weeks - but this evening, hearing the news, everything is well :D :D :D

You could say that, who am I to disagree?
Lets hope this brings down Musk, the GOP and Trump. Who knows. The GOP are trying to distance themselves, but they are just as complicit as Trump and the rest of the clan.

So the Trump administration is trying to undo the damage what was caused by DOGE, A mess which they are responsible for.
Trump Administration Cleans Up After DOGE

Washington Post: “Across the government, the Trump administration is scrambling to rehire many federal employees dismissed under DOGE’s staff-slashing initiatives after wiping out entire offices, in some cases imperiling key services such as weather forecasting and the drug approval process.”

I suspect this is to try and distance themselves from Musk, and to say, we are on a different path then Musk. But Trump allowed this, ans was endorsed by congress. They all to blame.

American Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth threatens to send the US Marine Corps into Los Angles to suppress civilian riots against ICE „if the violence continues“.

Source: https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-856895

Also and that is obvious just to add it here, Pete Hegseth‘s Twitter Account.

To quote him directly:
Pete Hegseth wrote:The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal Law Enforcement are designed to prevent the removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens from our soil; a dangerous invasion facilitated by criminal cartels (aka Foreign Terrorist Organizations) and a huge NATIONAL SECURITY RISK.

Under President Trump, violence & destruction against federal agents & federal facilities will NOT be tolerated. It’s COMMON SENSE.

The
@DeptofDefense
is mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement in Los Angeles. And, if violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized — they are on high alert.
