Have I missed something or is there a tutorial on how to use this editor. Changing the money is easy but the rest of the editor is out of my league.
Or it could be true what my Grand kids are saying, I'm getting to old to understand such modern apps..

Heheh working on making it more user friendlu and have a manial planned. If you let me know what you'd like to achive i'll clarify

If anyone is interested in a new save game editor for X4 and would like to contribute to the creation of one let me know. I do not have sufficient time to create it alone, but if there are enough people who want it and want to contribute we might be able to set something up.

No you keep up the good work. I always loved a good challenge. Back in the day I was pretty good with a Hex editor and changing code. Thanks for the hard work you've put into to the editor.

Not seen an update in a long time now, or if there was iv missed it lol, hoping this mod is still running along! Have serious plans for stuff ingame when its done, assuming its finished.

Hey hatchets,

Have been swamped at work and busy with stuff for my kid. I'll try and get an update out there during the coming weekend.

There are some tabs that are mostly working though. I've added in app tool tips to clarify known issues.

@the nets location, nobody really knowns. Some say its terrestial others think its etherial, maybe its both. However just will it and all will be em blessed. Or something like that.

Hey nemesis. You've made a beautiful thing, especially with it auto-creating backup files (was wondering the first few uses why the heck are there new folders in the save file directory. Then I realized what was going on XD)

Do you have any plans on making a ship ware editor interface? I know someone else created something with that feature but had long jumped ship. I'm just curious, that's all. Other than adding that, I'd say it's great as-is; I'd like to report that 3.50 is playing nice with it as well.

Hey nemesis!

I must admit that I haven't tried your savegame editor until now because I've been using the other one (made by Isbeorn) and it's worked well for my needs (it also has a very polished user interface - it's a shame he stopped working on it)

I just took a look at the features offered by your editor and it looks like it offers many things the other one doesn't (I particularly like the way yours lists all the known NPC's).

Is there any chance you could send Isbeorn a message and see if he's willing to let you use his codes? It would be really neat if the features offered by the two editors could be combined.

@konwannya: Thnx :) Good to hear. Shipware editor is on the list. I am currently working on such a editor. However in the initial version it'll be limited to constructing cvs only.

@Simoom: I've tried contacting Isbeorn but never got a reply. Let me know which features you like the most and I'll see what I can do.

I'm not entirely sure but I thought Isbeorn was giving permission to use his code in the following post. Might be ambiguous though.

I think Revils used the available code and produced an updated version and gives permission for the use the code he made available.

The main features I would like to see if asset management (viewing ships and stations you own, add drones/wares to them, repair their surface elements or hull, renaming them, manage their crew, etc.)

Not sure how easy it would be to implement, but I know it's possible to transfer crew between ships and stations through save game editing, for example. It would be cool to be able to do that through a game editor.

Updated version is out. The changes:
- You can select ships and see basic information
- You can change a ships name
- You can change a ships owner however it is advised not using this yet since it doesn't change the owner for the crew

To be added soon:
- View turrets
- View Shields
- View and change hull damage
- Change storage for CVs
- Change storage for all ships
- View crew

He he. Always wondered what it would be like if I were to "gift" the Xenon a ship with a secret agent inside.

Minor update:
- Changing the ship owner now also changes the crews owner (sorry w.evans no more spies for now, When the NPC editor is integrated into the universe editor you'll be able to create spies again ;) )

Err, my save seemed to have caused v0.1.21.6 to stop responding. Was the same save I sent you. Were you able to open it?

Sorry. Details: fired it up, automatically updated, application restarted, asked to automatically look for XRebirth.exe, chose manual, went to the correct directory (cool!), double-clicked XRebirth.exe, fine up to this point.

Clicked "Browse," browsed to my save game directory, clicked on quicksave.xml, clicked "open." Then it stopped responding.

Just tryed to load a 3.50 Beta 3 game on my system with the latest build.

The Save file loads but it takes my system 4 Minuets 15 Sec Aprox

@alexal, dos: please provide your saves so I can test them. The ammunition error is ok (the node is not manditory. This should be a verbose message). update error should just be a warning. It can load longer since it parses much more data now.

It's on my list to make the app lazy loaded but that's a bit of work for now it'll just be slow :P Also there are quite a few things that can be optimized.

@w.evans: I'll look into it.

@all: tomorrow morning I'll disable the new parsing code to temporarily fix the issue since I don't have time to look into it tomorrow.

Re-opened the file save. File opened for 2 minutes. But if the file is large, it opens a long time. It is necessary to speed up the processing of the file, if possible.
