Long range primary weaponry?

The worst part I have found with long range weapons is that the AI at this point is somewhat hardcoded to its dodge and weave range.
A capital ship can take out a fighter with ppc's at long range if the fighters are not dodging incoming weapons. So that should be relatively easy to mod if someone knows where that script is.

It actually doesn't. I did modify some weapons to have a "range" of 20 or so km. While in control of said guns I can point it towards the enemy and the aim would kick it and auto-correct for me. The problem you'd run into though is when an AI gets in the turret. They do not target beyond 10km. They will probably increase range of weapons and there is no need for increasing speed of projectile because ships will be big and they will be slow and hard to miss
And i ships will be more durable (strong shield and HP)

It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....

That is by far the most interesting change, besides changing capital ship weapons to 10km... but to change the number of shields a capital ship can carry to a massive multiple of what they carry now.
So like an when you usually see 6 x 2GJ shields on a ship.... I made it 22 x 1GJ.... so nearly doubling the shield strength... wham.. capitals can last for a while now.. missle frigates are not as dangerous, and you even have time to move with your capital ship...
With these changes the game becomes a different beast with a corvette and an capital ship..
Even better is a 4GJ shields on a corvette... not impossible to defeat by a m3... but far more likely to keep on trucking.

They can add more shields or they can increase shield regeneration....
Long range weapons(high damage) strong VS M1, M2 and M7 ships (30 to 40 km )
Mid range weapons (mid damage) strong VS M3 ,M6,M8 and average damage VS M1, M2 and M7 ships (10 to 25 km )
Short short range (low damage) shotgun weapons for m4 m5 and missle defense (3 to 6 km )
EDIT: M2 are 3-4 kilometers in length so distance is not that big only x10 for long range weapons
