Confused Noob
Hey guys! My roommate and myself recently installed X3 TC. We installed your mod and have been playing it for 2 days now. Sadly I haven't seen any of the ships mentioned in your mod. Spent that better part of this afternoon looking for any sign that the mod was working. Nothing...
Where do you find these Ships and new systems? I have been flying around all over scouting and exploring. Its been fun, but sadly I have yet to see any modded ships. Really looking forward to seeing the Empire from Star Wars and the Federation from Star Trek!
I really just want to confirm the mod is working. I see the load screen, and the cockpits.

AWRM, Marauder Shipyard, Cycrows Cheats, Research at EQ docks and a script for adding blueprints to your HQ all work with this mod. you just cant use the plugin manager.
EDIT: Played for a little while with AWRM installed. The weapons don't equip to the right ships. The weapons are also different than i remember. particularly the energy based mass driver. Also there is a problem with SETA and ship speed. a ship going 242m/s doesn't seem to go through the universe as fast as it should. SETA speeds the game up for about 10 seconds then the game slows back down to about 2x speed even with SETA active at 1000%.

Just curious, Why in the latest update did you remove all Capital ships from shipyards? I can't find anything higher than a M6 for sale anywhere. Is there a reason for this or do we have to unlock them somehow? Also I haven't been able to figure out how to get to the Star wars sectors. I cheated to display them but I would prefer to have my game free of cheats. I tried to find a legitimate path but the starwas setors seem to be cut off from the rest of the universe as well as the StarFleet sectors and the Allianz sectors.

capital ships have to be borded, or if you're lucky baught from pirates. makes the game more challenging and lets you keep better care of your capital ships... no matter how rich you are, capital ships are something exceptional... you don't see bill gates having a carrier now, do you?

i haven't played for a while, so i am relying on the info i got from TGG. try checking pirate shipyards, there must be quite a few, and if, it will be a hidden one, so hard to find.
worst case, try boarding one with marines. that works for sure. having capital ships is now much more expensive. not credits, but the own life and reputation.
i don't think this will be changed, because most are very satisfied with the additional challenge, and it makes more sense this way.

Just downloaded v3.8 but it appears that there are only 16 cat/dat files. Does this mean that we do not need 17-20 anymore or is there something missing here?
(Noticed that the no-cockpit mod is still #21. What does this mean in relation to the 16 cat/dats in the main file?)
BTW-Super mod! Love that you keep adding ships and making it better and better! I can't play X3 without it.

i haven't managed to download it yet, so i don't understand what you mean by only 16 cat/dat files. after unpacking the rar file, what exactly is there, in case of cat/dat files?
this version should be a full version, so if the files don't go up to 20, than reduce the CP files to next lowest.
i still would like to know what number of cat/dat files are exactly there after you unpack the file.

In MG 3.8.rar file are the following folders:
director, loadscr, readme_Yaki_K, scripts and t
Then there are the following files:
14.cat, 14.dat, 15.cat, 15.dat, 16.cat, 16.dat
Inside the MG_MOD_3.8_ohne_CP.rar file are the following files:
21.cat, 21.dat
Installing only the contents of those two rar files and renaming the 21 cat and dat files to 17 does not seem to make the mod work. Looks like just the stock ships are in the game.
It works if I drop those files into an already working multi mod game and just replace the included files (i.e. using the old 17, 18, 19 and 20 cat.dat files but I don't know how to tell if this is a full 3.8 install since there is no 3.8 update list and those higher numbered cat/dat files are NOT included in the updated 3.8 download so currently, I don't think anyone can install the mod from scratch as the older files (3.0 through 3.6) are available for download. This does not appear to be a full install.

TGG says all you need to do is change the 21 CAT/DAT to 17 and all should work. the whole mod now has only until 16 CAT/DAT.
try it and check if all is good. it should be working this way. i re-installed to check, and it did for me.

Hi i really need help on instalation. have try'd many times to install this and get it working but cant seem to do it. want to try out the new ships but only have a simple few. deadalus,intrepid an a few others but no goa'uld or wraith ships cant seem to work out what im doing wrong help!!!! plz!!!!

make sure your x3tc is updated completely. install 3.8 with all cat/dats. put update 3.9 after it. if you want to play without CP install those cat/dat as last (should be around 18 cat/dat). do not install aldrin untill you actually want to play those missions. delete aldrin after playing it. do not play any other missions or buy anything during aldrin missions.
that should be it.
