Glad you like helping, cos we're not finished yet. :D
I'll be submitting it to the library in a couple of days, i don't like doing it until it's been tested on a large scale for a bit, just in case.

Thats the way to do it, and if it's working fine then the array update code is working as well which is good to know.

Now all of you go play and enjoy the fruits of our labours. I've just been playing (no scripting) for 3 hours (a lot of that looking at a Stock Exchange screen, lol) and enjoying the game for a change.

I got caught a bit off gaurd when asking for a casual tester, but it developed some interest so i kept the post going. Took a day off after Stage 1 for a breather, but then back into it again.

As of right now, I'm building the 'Corperation / Company Index Menu', same basic layout as the 'Local Stock Exchange Menu' to keep things uniform in layout, but with a surprise or 2, just to make it something different and not get bored by the same menu just different numbers. 8)

Still got the Buy /Sell menu, Report menu and Options menu upgrades to go as well.

Will prob be a week before i get a test version out. Get it as good as i can before sending it out.

Could use your feedback and ideas on establishing a value for the ingame corperations though, Terra Corp, NMMC etc. Only assets they have are ships owned by the Corp Station and their contents and the station itself.

Not Presently compatable with,
Transend Modifications have been made to the script to make it more compatable, but no testing has been performed, try at your own risk. But let me know if it works or what still needs doing if you do.
transend version still doesn't work correctly. only exchange that is listed is boron. no other race.

also if no exchange is located:

You could add stations in near by sectors that belong to the market orientation of the corporation(weapons, mining....) so that volume of assest increase for every corporation.

Thanks draffutt,

I think the Transend Mod and a few others are going to take a bit of work to get compatable. I'm going to leave really working on that area until i have the rest of the script done. Any further findings you find in the mean time, please let me know so i have an idea of what needs chasing down, thanks.

Update :

Stage 2 is progressing nicely, with the usual amount of hair pulling, (notice the 'Completo Meter' in the OP). After discovering the '<ret> convert string <var/string> to integer' is one borked command, it randomly HATES commas!

Both Corperate and Company indexes are incorperated into the one menu rather than using 2 seperate menus. The Company Index is currently over 200 entries long thanks to the use of the Forum Name Library.

If anyone has found any problems or has suggestions regarding Stage 1 'Commodities Index', i would like to hear them. Similarly if there is anything you would like to see added / included in future releases.

Screenshots and info for the new menus will be added to the OP over the next couple of days.

As I see on the 'completo meter' you have done more then half work :D .I assume that the other red pointers are area of beta testing.

About the last quarter of the red pointers is when it's in beta testing.

One part of the new menu is a surprise, and i don't want to spoil the surprise for the beta testers either, that's why the 'keep em in the dark' :D . I'd like your honest reaction to it without being forwarned, i'm hoping you like it. (beta testers will also be asked not to post about it in the open forum, but rather comment via PM)

I have been working on it, prob more than i want to admit really. So i thought i'd give you a look.

Just a sneak peak at what it looks like so far. Not a whole lot different in appearance than what is already in use. But once you start using it you will find quite a lot is different.

As you may notice, the 'Company Index' is 9 pages long, please don't tell me there is nothing to choose from, cos i wont believe you.

Stage 2 Beta v1 includes the full Stage 1 release version and does not need to be downloaded seperatly.

Installation Instructions:

(except Idea and Nho, you have PM's coming with your instructions for updating)

With Stage 1 Release version installed,
- Sell all currently owned shares in anything you have. (or you will loose them)
- Follow uninstall instructions as for standard removal, as documented above.
- Install by extracting the Zip file to your X3TC main folder or extract them to a place of your choice and manually copy them to the correct folders in your X3TC folder.

Without Stage 1 Release version installed,
- Install by extracting the Zip file to your X3TC main folder or extract them to a place of your choice and manually copy them to the correct folders in your X3TC folder.

Removal:
- Sell all currently owned shares in anything you have. (or you will loose them)
- Open Options menu and select the Uninstall option.
- Make your choice from the available options.
- The Uninstall menu will then close.
- WAIT until you see the Subtitle Text informing you the "Stock Exchange has Stopped and is ready for Removal".
- All running scripts have now been stopped, not waiting will cause your game to freeze !!
- Save and Exit your Game.
- Remove All Stock Exchange files from 'scripts' and 't' folders in your main TC directory. Script files begin with 'plugin.mc.st.ex ~', and 'setup.mc.stock.exchange' and the 't' files are 9740-L044.xml and 8806-L044.xml

You weren't joking.......I went from a mere 500,000ish credits when i downloaded this mod 2 hours ago and now I have 530,000,000ish credits. :o

VERY nice mod btw it adds allot to the game in realism and depth. Just somehow tone the Naturals down a little because they almost feel like a cheat atm. (Using the Stage 1 V1)

EDIT:I have an idea that could help with the problem of insane profits like I have.(I just went from 530mil to 680mil on one trade of naturals :o ) I discovered that is you are patient and wait ONLY for 100 index that it's impossible to lose money and if you can buy the right kind and several dozen million of each then you will make insane profits quickly as now every single up in the value is several million extra.
The problem is the fact if you do what i said above you can't lose a thing but can gain unheard of profits fast. What I propose is to make it so there is no bottom to the price of the stock. That way it is impossible to make risk free trades like i seem to find allot.

I understand what you are saying in regards to the insane profit opertunities atm, there is some refinement requiered in the formular used to set their prices. They are based on in game values so each players experience will be different. From what you have said i know you have a very busseling economy in so areas of your game 8) . There is a bit of a similar issuse with the 'Company' shares as well in Stage 2 beta 1.

Having a really low possable floor to the prices also brings it own problems. Again you can buy share at a very very low price and wait for them to rise.

I'm looking at doing a quick revamp to stage 1 to change a bit of the layout and address some issues like this before i proceed with Stage 3, so all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Each time you start Stock Exchange the extension for the names will be changed so you will get all sorts of combinations happening, yes some can be quite a giggle. Naturals are in the Local Exchange menu.
