I havent tried using this depth myself, but just from reading your post, try setting purchase to 50% as well.

The Agent will buy intermediate wares if their stock at the complex is below this value. This value is also when selling intermediate wares; the Agent will always leave at least this much in the complex in order to safeguard production.

Yes but in case it drops bellow 50% i dont want them to buy it ...

Meanwhile ive set my traders to a specific job, Salesman/Shopper so i dont have conflict between buy/sell stuff, this obviously required more ships to cover all my needs which atm i cannot afford.
Tho even this way, ive set for example my salesman to sell Rastar oil down to 50% stock but he kept selling until it reached 0 , as if it doesnt cares ive specifically set

Sell products : 50%


Sell Products
The Agent will sell stock down to this level.


Im not sure these restrictions work as they should (duh, stating the obvious lol) or again its me doing something wrong.

clearly im doing something wrong so any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my set up

Argon Prime complex Solar power plant and crystal fab
Silicon Mine Herron's Nebula

All I want is for one ship to pick up energy from the complex and take it to my silicon mine, pick up silicon wafers and bring them back to my complex in argon prime. I use to have 2 separate ships doing this but with CAG it seems like 1 tanker should be able to do both.

My mine is 100% full of wafers and has zero energy. My complex is 100% full of energy but has zero wafers. The CAG just sits on standby instead of taking energy to the mine and bringing wafers back. Basically i want the CAG to act as an inter-sector complex tube. I have tried making adjustments but can not figure out how to make it do this simple task. Any help would be greatly appreciated :?

I think CLS might be better for what you are trying to do there rather than CAG.

ya i was able to get it to do what i wanted with the external trader. It's better then nothing but i was hoping for something that I could control a bit more. The CLS will strip every last bit of energy out of my complex and cause it to the factory to shut down for a while. I came back from afk one time to find all of my energy and crystal was gone and the factory was just doing nothing.

More importantly I guess I was just using that run sort of as an experiment to learn how to use the CAG

Hello, I have a problem in one of my factories. Using default CAG settings, my two CAGs will buy, but not sell. The main reason I am confused is because I have a similar factory in which the CAGs are both selling and buying without issue. My prices are set in such that there are 0 jumps to find a buyer. Any ideas? I'm quite new at using this specific software and am playing vanilla with the bonus pack.

It's most likely the pilots havent leveled up enough on purchasing items yet, they need to get a higher level before they can start selling, 2nd Rank, Courier before they will sell.

If you are close to Herrons Nebula you could try flying your ships to the trading station there, then try firing and rehiring the pilots from in the control screen until you get one with a higher rank than apprentice, I've managed to pic up a couple of pilots at Major Dealer rank doing this.

Oh, that makes sense! I didn't realize that they needed to be rank 2. My first factories CAGs ranked up by buying energy cells, but not my second factory. Thanks!

My trade is so jacked. The current CAG I have just don't work. I have tried everything (I think) and they just sit there on stand by. I hope it's just a code error of something from a bad (20th) install.

Without any further information it's impossible to help you. A log generated by the Analysis to Log function would be a good start.

If I give him a high jump range, will he foolishly go into Pirate/Xenon Sectors even though I set them as Foe? Do I have to individually blacklist every Xenon/Pirate sector?

Edit: So I'm trying to test CAG out and its not working. I built a microchip complex that requires about 200 imported crystals to maintain the energy cell level and I wanted to use CAG instead of "Buy ware at best price".

My crystal inventory is always at most 3% and I made my CAG try to keep the inventory at 50% stock, set the guy to Shopper... but he's still on Standby. There's Crystal three jumps down selling for 1700..

What gives?

The rank of the pilot helps. My CAG still gets stuck with out a foreseeable reason. I'm going through the logs and I see a few mistakes I have had. I hope the next time I try this it'll work. FRACKING A!

... this is your full log, or is there something missing on the bottom of it?

If it's complete, CAG doesn't seem to find any stations selling crystals within the range of the station. Not sure if this is affected by checking the prices too ... if there are crystal selling stations in range, check their prices and adapt your own pricing, so they can be bought.

As this script is part of the bonus package, you can download the bonus package from the main site's download area. (Link).
