Boron are a somewhat squid like aquatic race. Suck air in and blow it out to propel themselves in water. They have 4 main tentacles/limbs and mainly other auxiliary ones. ;p

Heres the pic Black gryphon spoke about;

I know there's an offline mode, so (presumably) you could continue to play anything already downloaded, but are you able to back up the files offline or transfer to another computer and still have them working? (I'm guessing "no" since that would destroy copy protection)
Steam is getting large enough as a digital distributor where it would most likely never just disappear. Bought and absorbed by another company maybe but not disappear, which in that case they would be under the legal obligation to host the games for you instead.
I have to agree. Just look at the current situation in the US. Even when huge mega-banks fail, they just get bought up by a bigger, stronger company. I doubt Steam would just vanish suddenly one day.

Steam...

I've already ordered and installed the game from steam, and I will say that it was a quick addition to my growing list of games hosted by them. Contrary to popular belief, STEAM does not bar you from installing games purchased through them on multiple machine. I have all of my games installed on at least 3 machines, and continue to update/play them (also I have done lan games) without any problem. If you're in the US just order it, and you'll be able to play it the second it is released as long as the pre-load is complete.
Plays on the Monolith from 2001
X3 Mogul, EXTREME
TC Mogul, Legend
AP Master Industrialist, Battlemaster
XR WTF, WTF

I don't think I've seen that artwork - I had always seen them as humanoids. In any case, they still fall under the sentient category, so they should have the same rights as humanoid denizens of the X-Universe.
Granted being sentient should take them out of the food class... I may have to go find some steamed crablegs noow...

Ah, yes. Its been a while since I first saw that picture. Kind of takes the passion out of the missions for thier 'princess' doesn't it? She's probably as huge as a Terran Orca.

It is not that the rolling demo won't work with V64 it's because the Star Force drivers can't be loaded as they are unsigned. The question remains "Why were those drivers in the rolling demo to start with?" The rolling demo was just a download not a purchased product. The second issue is "Why are they still there?". I did a fresh download of the Reunion Rolling demo only two days ago.
rolling demo uses the same executable as the standard game

therefore if you stripped the copy protection out of it, pirates can compare the files to see where the copy protection is located in it

this makes it far far easier to strip the copy protection
