You never now we might not get an update next time if we all winge about this one.........Mmmmm Isn't this what we were told before by egosoft as being the reason why they don't like giving updates about patches

for james_2k, sure it works fine in widescreen, but the graphics are stretched, so planets are oval and you don't see more than in a normal 4:3 (just stretched). woud be nice to have the broad movie like view... Still no biggy, just look sooo easy to implement...from outside I mean.

:D Go Ego Go! :D

I'm assuming this refers to NOT having an insanely high Argon rank at the end of the plot? Well, will this patch give my savegames (all well AFTER the plot was completed) a high argon rank? Or do I have to start over to get the high rank from the end of the plot?

Thanks for all your fine work ........

I think the timing is just about perfect for my current game. The lack of targets is just starting to chafe ........

All I can say is that this patch better address the blatenly obvious bug after the Don's daughter mission. I've had too many frustrations getting this game to work, and if I have to restart my entire game because of a rediculous mission bug I'll be done with Egosoft for good. This is the patch where Egosoft can redeem itself...

looking forward to the patch. enjoying the game anyway. but the patch will add even more. :)

one question though - how on earth can posters in this forum who comment so loudly on x3's condition expect to be taken seriously if they don't take the simple step of registering their game serial on their profile and hence be the possesor of the blue tick.

The_Abyss wrote:A few hours later than promised, I can reveal some of the feature list of the 1.3 patch. The update is due for delivery prior to Christmas, so everyone can have a decent holiday break this year!

The features are of course not final so some may be missing upon release but the intention is to get as much in as possible.

Feature List, and Fixes

- Mobile mining
- Sector enhancements
- HUD render performance increased
- Bullet render performance increased
- additional user-defined graphics options
- Optimized shader overall performance
- Higher quality /and speed of medium shaders
- Plot elements restored to working (should also be for existing saves too)
- CPU load reudced, increasing whole game performance
- NPC fight AI improved
- GOD engine rebalanced, also affecting economy
- M1 & M2 shield generators increased
- M2 laser generators increased
- Swarm missiles rebalanced and NPC AI tweaked to allow handling of them
- Complete tips menu with all game tips introduced
- Pirate stations spawn pirate ships
- Increased NPC fights and conflicts
- Plot ending Argon rank bug fixed
- Argon v Boron battle issues resolved
- Captured ship speed bug fixed
- Ships straiking a gate following jump fixed

The above is certainly not an exhaustive list but just designed to give you an idea of the content. A new version of the update has very recently been released to testers.
Excellent - thank you Abyss for the post and send my thanks to the patchers. :)
Complete with a sense of humor not even I quite grasp!

I have not registered a product with a company in a long time. I choose not to, which is my prerogative. Why don't you worry about something else, like why the gaming industry continues to pump out unfinished games...

Well I think that the policy is if you do not register, you are not liable for any support, which I believe includes patches, hence, I don't really think you have the right to say anything about the patch. Now I could be wrong about this and if I am, I apologize.

You are wrong. I do not have to register my product key to receive game fixes (patches), nor should I have to. I would have problems with any publisher who made that their standard policy.

You can get the patch I know, but I still think that as part of the policy you aren't really liable for support, the fact that egosoft allows for patches for unregistered versions is their own choice. It may be different for each company, but let us face the facts, if you haven't registered you may have a pirated copy of the game. I am not saying you do, but you might, I really see no reason not to register. It takes a couple seconds and it is just putting in a serial number, not even any personal information so what is the big deal?

This whole registration issue has never been a problem anywhere else except here. I don't register because I stand on principle. It's my way of protesting what I see as a decline in the gaming industry, and you can't tag that one on piracy.

Either way, this thread is not the place to be discussing such things. Many of us are placing a lot of hope in this patch. If I can get passed the mission bug, I might just register with Egosoft to show my appreciation!

Will there be a warp tunnel sequence in-between gates? The black screen is so cheap-looking! And it ruins the whole atmosphere of the game

Thank you for the graphic options though! :)
