ich find die idee auch spitze da würd ich mir sogar auch eine ausdenken vielleicht soollte mn das aber so machen das nur die die auch ne news geschrieben haben das sehen dürfen sonst wäre es uunfair da manche fürs nichtstun solche leckerbissen kriegen!

Das basiert halt auf Freiwilligkeit. Bitte keinen Zwang hier, jeder soll mitmachen wann und wieviel er möchte
Ich bin sicher, dass eine extrem hohe Beteiligung kommen wird.
Wer will denn nicht den anderen helfen, z.B. 30 neue X²-Screenshots zu bekommen und sich damit sogar gutes Ansehen im Forum zu verschaffen?

BBS Team have been hard at work trying to sort though the 400 articles. And we have now updated the numbers by assigning the unassinged ones that were submitted.
Note the 5 Main races have now got high numbers. And are beyond 50. If we can get the others up to 50 then i may concider allowing the others to go up to 75. Remember the more the better.
Lets aim for 50!

Handby, what the hell are you doing?? . After having read your last posting a few days ago I sat down and began to write a set of ten articles. Five of them viewing the same event from different race's viewpoints as BurnIt! explicitly encouraged us to do. Now I am about to send them to you, what do I have to read? No more articles ... please! Just Pirates, Goners and GalNet. You did NOT say in your postings before that you did want almost exactly 50 articles per race. You said you wanted AT LEAST 50! O.k., I understand that you need an about equal number of articles from each race, BUT: Couldn't you do it the other way: Instead of stopping people from writing articles, encourage them to write MORE articles especially for Goners, Pirates and GalNet?

I remember BurnIt! saying you (i.e. EGOSOFT) planned to gather about 1000 articles. And you say you have 400 by now. There's plenty of work to do, isn't it? And there are three more weeks to go before deadline runs out. What's the problem with having too many articles of some kind? Simply discard the less interesting ones.

Now I feel better. I guess I have a good night now and send you the ten articles tomorrow. If some of them are to be discarded you may well do this instead of me. And I'll write another set of ten articles, Pirate only, promised.

Ans Forum gerichtet: Tschuldigung, daß das komplett in Englisch is, aber ich bin mir nicht im Klaren, ob Handby nun Deutscher, Brite, Ami, etc. bzw. mehrsprachig ist.

As you may understand that the BBS job is quite a task. In fact its one i have been co-ordinating since last november.
The original value that was set by myself was 700. But at the end of april we only had 300. It was decided that 700 would be a value we wouldnt be able to reach.
because my german goes as far as "Mein Deutch ist nicht sehr gut..." BurnIt! has kindly helped me with the german side of this job.
Most of my comments are on the english forum, and i have tried to post what i do there, here. Unforuntly i may have missed one post which states im looking for 450 articles. (50 for each race/group) Although personally i would like to get to 700.
Any articles i recive get put into the database. I do not delete any just because i have enough. These articles become reserve articles because we may end up having to delete some because of consistancy.

I would also like to comment that i do not work for egosoft, i am just a developer whos been placed in charge of gathering and co-ordinating the articles. No targets have been set by ES themselves

The Message "!No More *** Articles Please!" means although we have met our current target. We would like you to please concentrate on other races. A message many people have understood.

ONCE our 450 target is reached and we have arround 50 articles per race, we will increase the target to 75 per race. Allowing for more articles, but you may understand we need to balance out the article numbers.

I appologise that the message may not have been understood. And i hope this message will clear this up.

1000 Articles would be great, but with only 20 days left until the deadline, we can not at this time meet that value. And we urge all people willing to partcipate. If you have already written articles, before this update message. then please send them. They will be entered into our NewsEd database as backups. Nothing will be deleted unless if it breaks copyright law or if can not be entered into the game.

Vieleicht sollten wir kleine Gruppen zusammenstellen: So 5-10 Leute, die gemeinsam die Nachrichten schreiben. Sie werden dann noch untereinander Ausgetauscht und auf Rechtschreibfehler kontrolliert. In jeder Gruppe sollte dann auch noch jemand sein, der ganz gut Englisch kann und dann alle übersetzt. Dann werden sie alle unter dem selben Namen abgesendet.

Die Gruppe, die mehr zusammengebracht hat, bekommt dann ein Video.

@Egosoft: Bitte startet so nen Wettbewerb! Ihr wollt doch 1000 Nachrichten haben, oder? Vieleicht schaffen wir ja 1500.

Im affraid we can not do this.
Many reasons are involoved.

All articles are checked for spelling errors and grammar errors, no matter if we have already been told they have been checked. The articles also have to be altered when we get them so they can be entered into the game.

I want to have 700 articles, but its not ging to happen. We have until the 20th june 2003 for the submission of articles from here. They are then compiled into a database, sent to someone for checking, sent back to me, checked again, delete any that cant go in. Send back for checking if needed or submitted to egosoft for entry into the game.

If you can arrange with yourself and others to create more articles in a group then great. But you have until the 20th to send them in. Any articles that are submitted after 10pm (thats 11pm or 2300 german time) english time. Will not be entered into the database. Well i say that, i will give a day or so.
Basicly im running under a very strict time limit, and this job has been open since november 2002. It needs to be ended soon so the translators can start their thing.

Ich habe da gerade etwas über die Festnahme eines Piraten geschrieben, und möchte jetzt noch eine Nachricht schreiben, in der etwas von seinem Ausbruch steht. Kann man so etwas auch machen?

Hoffe auch baldige Antwort, denn mir brennen die Finger...

Kann man eigentlich auch Nachrichten Schreiben, die alle etwas miteinander zu tun haben, aber nur nach der Reihe kommen sollten? Ich habe da gerade etwas über die Festnahme eines Piraten geschrieben, und möchte jetzt noch eine Nachricht schreiben, in der etwas von seinem Ausbruch steht. Kann man so etwas auch machen?

Ja das geht, man kann Ketten von Nachrichten schreiben (maximal 10 Nachrichten pro Kette)

Schreib sie der Reihe nach und mache nen deutlichen Vermerk, dass die eine erst nach der anderen kommen darf.
