In the manual on page 38 it says "WARNING: there is no return from X-treme difficulty level"........ in other words I'm going to need a seat belt for my computer chair.

:D No, that is refering to the fact, that you can change the difficulty level during playing - except, when going to X-treme, that's fixed afterwards.

Really? I may have to reconsider XTREME then...

Did you alter OOS combat to be more... more... equal? Fairer?

If so, Xtreme it is!

Seconded about OOS - do you use OOS combat rebalance script or something like that?

Doesn't this violate the Copy Right / EULA / etc. of base game for mods - aka people are allowed to mod base game as long as it's non-profit?

donations = profit

Mr. WHO:

That is not our problem. We have already stated we will not take money/fees/payments for the mod.

But, if anyone else is thinking to make some kind of donation, it's their right to do so. We don't have and won't have any account on our name, so - as we mostly take advantage of the working space granted to us for free at txu website - we suggest to donate there instead.

On a side note, the statement donation = profit is absolutely wrong.

It has been said over and over that the XTC team does not accept donations - nor is there any way we will see your money, for the mod or otherwise. Mind that TXU is not equal to XTC team.

Can we now give this issue a rest, before more misinformation is posted? Please?

here here, the devs have spoken.

I really like the sound of this Xtreme mode now if you cant change it back. sounds like the classic "press button, recieve rape" situation... I'll just make sure I have a crapton of decent ships (hopefully some of those sweet looking boron and a handfull of teladi ships) before I send the universe into meltdown.

That said I am really interested to see what features have been put in these "M2+" ships
Spoiler

Especially as the manuall makes reference of ship repair and production, ammo and missle production as well as a variety of other things which sound unbelievably epic
I think this is a much better way of labelling the classic "M0" in some peoples eyes, as it generally makes a lot more sense. While granted there is a considerable size difference between them (the paranid odyssius vs the olympos for example), in essence they are simply battlecarriers or "motherships".
At first sight I would have thought it better to label these 'M0' vessels to M1+, however I can see the reason it was named M2+ instead, as I can anticipate that these babies will be able to house a titanic amount of dakka.

Will player shipyards be able to produce stations? In manual there is clearly about ships production, but nothing indicating station production (and without station production, player can't be self sufficient).

Well, I would assume, if it's not written in the manual, that there is no such function ;)

To be sure, you'll have to wait until it's released ;)

I'm pretty sure someone answered that, but I just can't find the post.

What about the bonus pack? Will it work out of the box or will it also have to be modified to work?

I'm pretty sure there's no mention of it in the manual. :(

The BP is a set of third-party-scripts and not made by ES. As that there is no guaranted compatibility to XTC. It's completly untested, thus we don't know, what works and what not.

Btw there is no use in installing the out-of-date-versions of the BP, when there are already updated versions of the authors out there. (the "modified"-thing is there anyway)

Who needs bonus pack anyway. This will be a combat oriented mod, so there is already "engine boost" included. For anti missile defence there are "countermeasures" and "ecm blasts".

I will say I am definately looking forwards to the added areas of combat too. I can imagine smaller ships like fighters would use chafe / flares / countermeasures (as military fighters of the present day do) while the larger ships would employ the use of electronic warfare to disrupt targetting and missile systems...

I'd like to know are there any plans in the future releases down the line to add Cockpits and fix up OOS combat, and have you guys fixed any of the vannilla bugs.

I'm asking because I'm a huge fan of the Bug-player fix mod, and I would like to know what to expect from this mod in that department.
