To me it look's more like concept art. Piranha Bytes and Ego artist worked together on it: Gothic in spacelubnius wrote:Screenshot.Terre wrote:Is the following image concept art or screen grab?

Will the co-pilot get a fit of the giggles when the player looses a drone?Bernd Lehahn TGB Interview wrote:The only difference is that this is done using a virtual reality system (goggles come down from top of your cockpit and the copilot takes over flying the main ship) and you won’t die if these drones get destroyed.

I certainly hope not! It might be funny the first few times, but, like most such dialogue, it'll get real old, real fast.Terre wrote:....

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

All that we will get if their is a update is some newsletter with somit either we already know or somit like the day in the life of so so which is not why i would open the newsletter as its not news about the game details.
I would hope that their would be some exclusive news in but it has barely if ever happened that wasnt found out before on the interwebs somewhere sooner. They treat us forum dwellers 2nd class and other news sites first class.
Egosoft used to make some nice games but their interactivity with the forum is almost non existent and no rubbish about being busy. Surely they have free time out of the office and one would think they would "enjoy" talking to the fans of their games and post on their own forums every now and then even just a post a week or somit which is what 2-3 mins which isnt alot of their time out of the office or even in the office while their having a cuppa.
Really like it when devs post to the ppl on their forums with alot of other games but ES just dont care. And when i say ES i mean bernd and the other devs that we dont really see ever that post like texture artists, programmers, mappers, etc.
ES please try to be transparent like star trek online and alot of other companies. I refuse to believe it has anything to do with publisher especially for small talk with other forum users at least.

Kind of disappointed.
From what I've seen thus far about X-Rebirth, I will not be purchasing it. I was hoping to break away from the "gate" system completely, and have a more open ended way to travel.

I started disappointed but as I hear more about it the more interested I'm getting. The only thing I'm really disappointed about now is the lack of information we are getting.

I thought I had read in the "What we know about XR thread" http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=300884 that it had both. You could choose to traverse the enormous distances without using the gates but that there would be very little (read nothing) in between so that you would have to ask yourself why. I could be wrong and there is so much conjecture about this thing anyway.

What do you reckon it costs to make a game like Rebirth, start to release? (not including post release support)
Not trying to have a go or anything, just curious at what sort of cost they'd be looking at approximately.

what like have the entire universe without gates? do you have any idea how dull adn boreing that would be, not to mention the RAM and CPU loadArcturas wrote:From what I've seen thus far about X-Rebirth, I will not be purchasing it. Death is not a hunter unbeknownst to its prey, one is always aware that it lies in wait. Though life merely a journey to the grave, it must not be undertaken without hope. Only then will a traveler's story live on, treasured by who bid him farewell. But alas, my guest's life has ended, his tale left unwritten
