Amazing!! It does no small amount of justice to say that this ship is your best yet!!!!
Quick question: Will it have a small internal docking bay for fighters?? I'm thinking it could carry maybe 5-10 fighters........
Edit: I'd personally love if all USC and ATF vessels could use mosquito missiles, I know at the moment that the commonwealth races are not exactly friendly towards the Terrans, But the mosquito missile is such a low grade weapon that I think they'd willing license the tech to the terrans. I'm sure the Teladi would sell the mosquito to the terrans, Even the argon might be willing, The boron are another possible source.....
And that's just listing the races that have dedicated stations for they're production....

Good idea?!
Ok... So i have an idea for a new class of ship. you see lots of mods with M3++ and so on but what about a M6-?
Here is my thought. if you were going to be a space pirate.... The main objective would be to be faster than anything that could kill you and be able to kill anything faster than you. you woulden't last very long otherwise.
My issue is in TC they use slow ships for pirate activities. which really doesn't make much sense as a raiding vehicle.
give them the raider designation, as to diferentiate them. i'm thinking 200mj shields but about 240ms speed min, turning would still be less than an M3, maybe 12 Rpms? maybe up to 20ish? smallish cargo hold two turrets but only 4 forward guns.
Basically what a springblossom is suposed to be. Fun to fly but up against anything real heavy not verry effective.
Cool part is you could design them as sleek craft as militarys would use them for deep recon. would you want to spend a week in a fighter cockpit on a recon mission? M6 raider would be much better =)
Awesome Ships Cad. have you thought about putting together a demo reel and submitting it to game developers? You could make a good living doing what your doing now and more than a few company's will let you contract out from home. Just a thought.

@LarryBurstyn: Those are entries for Logain Abler's FDN/PM mod, not a bug but put in to maintain compatibility.
@raistlinmajere8: Sorry the two aren't compatible at this time.
@supahfly: there are two tools available x2bc IDE which I assume is the one you're using since it screws up bump maps and lighting and the one is doubleshadow's x2bc which screws up navmesh. I use both, DS's tool to convert the model and IDE to convert the invisible safety net.
@MadMan: 12 heavy guns per side, no front guns. 8 on top, 6 bottom, 4 medium guns rear. Of course missile tubes too.
I want to try and balance this the same way the Tyr is done, lots of guns but not enough cargo space. So I think about 8000 cargo space would do, so if you go full mount 24 PSPs and SSCs you would be left with around 1000 space to fill with e-cells and abit of missiles. Or forget PSPs and and use something smaller (M/AML or FBC) and you'll have plenty of cargo space for more missiles
@Railgunner: Yes a small hangar for 4 fighters and 2 externals for TS/TP/M6/M8. Sorry no dice on the mosquitos, it shares the same slot as firefly, dragonfly, firelance, wasp, disruptor and rapier missiles. Can't make it available without making those available too.

Hell, it's great! Really love this design and the way it's balanced. Bad, that it can't be the backbone of the fleet since no front guns, but I'l have one or two for support mission. It has full missile compatibility, am I right? Oh, gonna build more missile fabs...

I can't stop thinking of a mobile battlestation. Fortress with huge shields, not so bad guns, low speed and tonns of docking slots for ships from M5 to M1. The point is that there is no good way to attack with a big fleet altogether. So, I see it like this: fortress jumping it sector, undock it's battleships, carriers and fighters, jumping out. Point-to-point jump also recommended.

Interesting idea... Perhaps the (Pirate?) "M6 Raider" could also fire boarding pods? Perhaps from an Aft tube... As the raider drops the shields from a straffing run it would launch it's boarding pod(s) at reasonably close range and continue to supress the shields with the Top/Bottom turrets.e46justice wrote:Ok... whats with the M0 you want to fit in here ? i think it was on earlier pages ..uhm i found it :

ot right now, if you want to use it with other mods you'll have to merge it yourself.

I like the design, it doesn't make Osaka redundant coz she has more frontal oriented firepower. I hope that the Nagoya will have less speed and rudder so this will make her more like blockade (broadside) and artillery ship (missiles), while Osaka will remain a line ship and strike ship.@MadMan: 12 heavy guns per side, no front guns. 8 on top, 6 bottom, 4 medium guns rear. Now that's a pure evilthis new M2 fully loaded with PSP SSC and missile and a Hataka to transport it = AWSOMENESS!!!

I't good that the missiles are ballance by slow production output for M7M weapons this will prevent the Nagoya from beign too IMBA (simply by the fact that if you would like to mainain more than one M7M ship you would require some serious production complex).

Maybe this is too much to ask but have you ever considered some tweaking of the vanilla terran ships? USC's ones mostly. I find it extremely annoying that whoever did the models for them decided to use those god awful vertical stabilizers all over the place which aren't even properly modelled (for example argons use this and in their design it looks finished and polished) and look like children's drawing of a plane — just thick triangles... gee. And some are extremely large (like on the TP) and totally pointless.
The job didn't take more than half an hour when I tried that myself but compiling ruined all my work. Maybe it's just me or my soft or something though.

[Bug report]
Hey Cadius, noticed a minor bug on the new USC Headquarters:
Was experimenting with docking and undocking the Baldric Super Freighter. Docking went fine, and also undocking the ship didnt cause any collision etc, but I noticed the launch bay doors (of the bay the freighter launched from) of the station didnt close after the freighter left, even after it had docked with the station again.
Might be connected with the other weird thing about launching from the station; when I launch from the station in a fighter, the doors seem to start closing the moment the fighter starts moving out, causing it to clip thru the doors partially (no collision tho).
Besides that, awesome stuff, and the upcoming content seems to have your high quality stamp all over it as always ^^

If theres one thing I can't stand it's the OTAS Mistral SF. The design, like the Boreas, seemed very alien and far too different from other argon ships. Motivated by annoyance, here's a replacement for the Mistral Super Freighter.

@supahfly: what do you mean by vertical stabilizers? those tiny fins?
@dougeye: yes it should be able to fit through gates, I really don't think it will be as big as the Valhalla. There's a few problems making ships that big, gates is one thing, the other is turret coverage. The main role of an M0 as I see it is not a jump in kill everything super battleship. But rather a supercarrier with a large hangar bay, a couple of cap ship docks and the ability to salvage, build and repair ships. The dream ship to use Logain's MPM on.
@FireBoltnl: I've noticed this with the Orbital Patrol Base as well, it seems to be tied to the dock itself, not exactly something I know how to fix.
@Colossus32: No where soon I'm afraid, still plenty to do.
