Re: Litcube's Universe
It's been a while for me. Litcube's universe included the bounce script, remember that?
If I remember right, he worked on LU for some 9 years. I'm curious specifically about the Bounce Mod. Because it released in 2014 with the launch of LU, and X:R released in 2013. Meaning X3 wasn't being actively updated as much any longer. Was the Bounce Mod functional while updates were being added to X3 or was it required to wait until 2014 to release LU & Bounce to minimize the chance of the game being updated? Any ideas?
Another question about Bounce. Would it currently be beneficial to use it in DiD mode?

You'll be safer with Bounce.
I ran few tests scanning asteroid at SETA x10 with a ship flying at more than 600m/s and survived.
Even if you don't use autopilot, AI ships that would usually ram you out of sheer stupidity will actively try to avoid you (which doesn't always work, when in doubt brake).

Re: Litcube's Universe
Has anyone encountered such a phenomenon as lack of asteroids for building complexes? (They have run out and there is no more in the universe of none). Is not in the mod does not provide for respawning of asteroids after some time? Maybe someone knows, how to respawn asteroids without importing / exporting ?

You know, I've not played X3 for ages at this point, but I still remember this mod very fondly.
Is Litcube still around? I notice the old Litcube Wiki site is no more... shame that.
Litcube: If you do see this, hello sir, hope you're well.

Re: Litcube's Universe
Anyone know where I might find spreadsheet for factory names for either LU or the base game?
I'm trying to add a ware to a shipyard but can't decipher what is what in the WaresTemplate file.
Specifically I'm just trying to add a computer plant to any other shipyard as I have Phannon on steroids in my game which makes Omicron Lyrie inaccessible.

I don't think so. Mayhem is mentioned in this topic, when people have asked about a sector takeover option for this mod.DasViereck wrote: ↑Thu, 29. Feb 24, 19:21 Is the STO mod for own sectors or something like that in the Litcubes mod included? or is the sto mod compatible to this mod?
Purls posted an alternative link above:

I'm not aware of a spreadsheet, but Roguey has the station ids listed on his website's stations section for each station.

It's also on this github page I guess as a mirror
https://robunderscore.github.io/litcube ... _Page.html
I found out because Litcube's Universe is mentioned at the bottom of X3:TC's PC Gaming Wiki Page:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/X3:_T ... s_Universe
Also found another mirror:
http://litcubeswiki.rf.gd/luwiki/wiki/i ... _Page.html
And as I was pulling up the original LU wiki page to check what archive.org has available...
funny. uBlockOrigin prevented the entire page from opening for security reasons stating to be aware of one "bouncy.php" file

I believe this is the last time the wiki was modified. This is an archive of the original wiki. I wouldn't download GB's of data from archive.org, be nice, make Microsoft pay for the bandwidth and download it from Github above

Re: Litcube's Universe
Were there ever any mods/patches to make M2's good for anything other than OOS operation?
Keep wanting to come back to this game and mod, but each time I load my game and watch as M2's fly off into the sunset and my missile frigates not fire a single missile as they faceplant into OCV makes me switch the game off.
And no that's not a bug. M2's have the same braindead function as TL's. Utterly useless for IS conflict. Makes end-game thoroughly unenjoyable.

Re: Litcube's Universe
Linux users beware. The standard wine setup that can run X3 Albion Prelude
isn't enough to run Litcube Universe. One of them is improperly encoded and has unknown additional requirements (I suspect it's the vanilla, by the amount of trouble I had to go through to make it work). I only managed to launch Litcube Universe with Bottles, and even then, there's no sound or video. And bottles won't even say what software it preinstalls. I tried to install some and it failed, saying that it's already installed and it just corrupted my prefix.
I don't know if the complete directshow is needed, but if I install them separately, amstream first, then quartz fails to install and the game won't run. So I had to install quartz first or complete directshow, that way it doesn't fail. And that's only to run Albion Prelude properly. It isn't enough for Litcube Universe.
Code: Select all
directshow, devenum, vcrun2005, vcrun 2019, wmp11

This is a specially created site for WIKI mirror, nothing questionable there.
The more the better, since the official Wiki site has shut down.

Over the last couple weeks I got crankypants at getting this to work consistently with wine, so I made this: https://codeberg.org/nlseven/swlu-linuximanitu209 wrote: ↑Tue, 5. YMMV, as I'm on Fedora 41, but both LU and SWLU seem to work just fine including voices. That said, they also work if you use the native Linux build - I'll publish a script for that too soon.

Re: Litcube's Universe
And from 2022 to 2025. While I don't really expect that to be useful to anyone in the future, just in case, one (hopefully) last update.
As there's a fix for AFT Mammoths in Alaankwa, I'm starting to think that wasn't on me but instead a bug in vanilla LU. Although those mammoths were a symptom and not the core issue (with reproductible crashes, perfs degradations and bounce becoming unreliable over time).
Aside from the Mammoths none of that happened in my last playthrough. As I said, it's unlikely to be useful in the future as I'm left with the feeling that something was wrong with my previous computer (that thing was cursed).
But not having to do an E/I every day, after 10 years I finally wiped my first OCV sector. Hourray!
