I liked the idea of starting as Lost Lar and never getting out of Angel the most. It would challenge the crap out of him to pull off. :-)

I think N-S deserves the chance to play the game the way he wants, and not worry so much about keeping the rest of us entertained. It is good enough that he has thrilled us with 2 fantastic tales, and he has inspired many people to take his approach to the game which has breathed new life into it.

Having said that, I will eagerly await any crumbs he may decide to throw in our general direction :D

Not only are there a number of potential bugs that cause reloads, but you get forced into dangerous, even deadly, situations that under 'normal' DiD play you'd avoid. ...
That would make it just more... challenging?

No, I'd say just more frustrating. All who have completed every one of the five major plots without once reloading for one reason or another, please raise your hand/claw/tentacle. What, no one? Not a single appendage? :o

I believe that so far he has played the game exactly as he wants. We have done nothing more than suggest ideas in hopes one or more will call to his inner wants. He, of his own wanting to share his love for the game, has graced us with awesome narrations of his personal quests. It is not like we are holding a PPC to his head and screaming "WRITE AND ENTERTAIN US, BITCH!"

Could do.

What spec. Pc are you running the game on?

I'm also guessing that you prefer mouse control to joystick- am I right?

Nice rig, about the same as mine. Except mine has a Nvidia GTX260. Since when did ATI start making Nvidia cards? :P
Yep, mouser.

Ah, the easy button. That explains a lot. Real pilots use joysticks. :P

Yes, especially real pilots of fictional spaceships in a simulated universe ...

Oh and Slug, maybe just play and if you feel like it, write down your story. I think it could be very useful as a walk through of the Terran plot for newbies. And also I'd like to read your version of the more demanding plots like Hub, HQ and the new Aldrin, which I will never get around to play ;-).

I would much prefer seeing a DiD plot the slug way. That is what makes the stories entertaining and so worthwhile to follow.
Plus we could really do with a great walkthrough slug style in the stickies. :)

But plots are short, lame and boring. I'd much prefer they created a plot based on this AAR (run away from core Split sector, wander in Pirate sectors trying to snatch some shields, go on a capping spree and use a crowd of capped ships to get M7M and later an M2, then in the final mission go fight Ray at point blank range in a damaged destroyer).

Can't get much more real than that for space combat at the present time. I don't think they mount lasers on the space shuttles yet. :P

They don't? But there must be an experimental EMPC project mounted on a secret rear turret on the space shuttle, just in case some aliens show up ;-). And I bet it's controlled by a mouse as in "the easy button" :P.

Naah, any real life space-laser will be directed by a gaze-sensing system - what you look at is what you shoot.

A mouse is just a cheap simulation of a gaze-sensing system.

Who, me? Heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, short sight, dizzy spells after coughing - I'm not even allowed to drive!

But, that is exactly the sort of thing I imagine when using a mouse to control gunfire in TC.

And you might even cap ships by accident, because you've hypnotised the targets captain and crew ;).

I was tinkering around with various ideas for a possible DiD gameplay last night. I'm not sure that a plot run through would work. It's too scripted for a start and wouldn't leave anything to the imagination, and that's what makes these stories great.

I did come up with something that might be tough enough, while leaving the scope open for some decent storytelling though.
DiD - One of everything. (shipwise at least).

The aim is to collect one (UNT PRECISELY VON!) of every cappable ship in the universe, Starting with the main races and pirates, and finishing with the Xenon.

The can be no buying ships, and limiting it to a single vessel of each type means that even if ships bail for you, you might have to leave them floating - do you sell a ship for profit and risk not capping another?. At no time are you allowed duplicate ships in your inventory.

You're only allowed to take a race missions from 2 stations in each race's space, limiting the rep increase possible to he point that by the end of the game every race in the universe will be hostile to you, but you'll have a big enough fleet to deal with it.

Unless it's a Ray coming though a jumpgate of course.
