LOL, I was talking about this only a few hours ago!

I will probably be adding some info. to the FAQ in the manual, but even then I expect I will still get some of the same questions asked here!

I'm just adding in a special 'bonus' awesome vessel and a 'mini-plot' for it at the minute!

There is also another option in the Configuration Menu I should mention, 'Log Ship/Crate spawn information' will write to your LogBook everytime a crate/ship is created, if you turn that on, it should give you a better idea of what is being (or supposedly being) created.
So, I'm beginning to think that my problem was a false alarm & may not have been connected to your script at all. Turns out that the savegame was bugged - as various scripted menus & items started disappearing, even though the scripts were running. I've since started a new game & am not experiencing any problems.

Again, thanks for all of your work & quick responses.

Hi nightspore333,

I would have been surprised if it was my script, as there is no reason it should do that (and no noe else has had the same problem).

Glad your new game is working properly though! :D

Can't wait for the special bonus ship.
Started a new game with just this script and it is fun in a Buster going through the war zones as a netural

You can pick up quite a few abandoned Argon/Terran ships in and around Omicron Lyrae, but I've noticed once you (PLAYERSHIP) leave one of the contested sectors, the Terrans will become hostile to any remaining ships you have there, so make sure you're always the last one out!

Does this script play nicely with salvage commands and npcs? Just for the universal and sector salvagers. Also is there a comprehensive breakdown of what software this effectively nullifies? ie Is there any point in installing this and then installing salvage claim software by cycrow or prospector by Lucike? I guess Prospector actually adds more functionality but scs by cycrow seems superfluous now.

Hi Erenar,

This script shouldn't conflict with any other salvager scripts.

I'm not entirely sure what Cycrow's Claim software does, but I would guess my SCS scripts do pretty much the same (plus a lot more  ).

I would suggest you read the first posts on the threads for Cycrow's and Lucike's scripts, that should usually tell you what the scripts do, you can then compare them to mine and download/install those that sound best to you.

I actually feel lucky I had to restart.... which, in X terms, is kinda different!

Hi Erenar,

Well done on getting the MRS!

I always restart *until* I get an MRS, almost couldn't live without one!

Yeah, most of the time you restart is because something screwed up really bad!

Is satellite deployment manual or can you send a ship off to auto-deploy? Wondering if I need automated satellite network or not. (Sorry about the questions btw :) Just started modding x3 a couple of days ago because there were so many holes i needed filled in the vanilla game).

Hi Erenar,

Satellite depolyment is manual, however it can be done remotely. The older version of the scripts (V2.08 I think) for X3R did have a satellite network script, which I may rewrite and include in a future release one day!

Also, if you don't have the money (as if often the case at the start of a new game) you can deploy Navigational or Advanced Satellites as normal and upgrade them later to the Stealth Satellites.

The new version out soon (V4.07) also features a 'mini-mission' that can net you a freebie ship that is exceptional for deploying satellites... Not saying any more about that for now though!

A good tip is to initially put satellites in sectors with Military Outposts in them, so you can see when they have a decent supply of satellites in stock!

You can also purchase the Cargo Bay Shielding at the Military Outposts too, this is necessary for upgrading normal satellites to their stealth counterparts.

It shouldn't be long, the English version of the mission is done, just waiting for the translations!

I'm english, slip me a copy to beta test <3 :D

Btw, don't know if you know but.... as i mentioned i just started again... claimed 3 ships and sent them to the mrs, the one i don't own yet because i haven't got to the sector to claim it. But, I thought that you had to pay for repairs... i checked the setting and it's set to 100% so how come I get these for free?

Haven't packaged the scripts up yet, but I'll send you a beta when I do!

Any MRS you own will automatically repair any ships docked at it (or within 10,000m), however, if you don't own one, you can call one in (that's the one you have to pay for).

The MRS has 3 levels of repair which are accessed through the 'Purchase MRS Upgrade' option.
  • Level 1 (the default) repairs 1 hull point per second
Level 2 (2,000,000 credits) repairs 5 hull points per second
Level 3 (5,000,000 credits) repairs .2% of hull per second.
Hope that clears things up!

Ah, so level 1 is free? Because i'm calling that one in. I haven't collected the salvagable one yet.

Nope, The one you call in you have to pay the equivellent of repairing at a station (depending on the setting in the configuration menu), the levels (1-3) only apply to an MRS you own.

Your best bet is to go and claim the freebie MRS you got at the start, that will repair your ships for free (and repair itself too).

If you have them, remember to take a Jumpdrive and enough energy cells to jump the MRS to where you want it. It moves like a dead brick until you upgrade it to level 2!

Hi, I really like this super mod that does a great deal of really nice things. There's one feature I couldn't figure out. "Find Best Asteroid To Mine" will bring up a list with sectors and the yield amount for each "best" asteroid, but what are the numbers after the sector name? Example: Seizewell (5,1). I noticed all of the numbers are positive, which seems unlikely for coordinates, as I tried moving to 5, 1, 0 and 5000, 1000, 0 both which came up empty. The manual was very well written and informative, though I was unable to find out what these numbers mean and how I can find this "best" asteroid.

Edit: Nevermind... I just figured out that they are sector coordinates for the universe (I had to use Roguey's x3ap sector map to notice).

Hi Guffeh,

The numbers are indeed coordinates, but they are for the sector, not the asteroids (if you have a map for TC or AP, you will see that Kingdom End is top-left (at 0, 0) and the next is Rolk's Drift (0, 1), etc.).

'Find Best Asteroid' only reveals the highest yields of each type in the sector, not the coordinates, after all, you have to have something to do yourself!

If you purchase a Camera Drone, you get another command in the SCS menu 'Launch Camera Drone', this will launch a high-speed drone that scans all the stations, gates and asteroind in the sector for you. It's great for finding out those elusive 'out-of-the-way' gates and for scanning all the asteroids. Thanks to the crappy autopilot the drone can sometimes crash into things and be destroyed though, but they're cheap and plentiful!

Also, if you have been to Elysium Of Light you can dock at the Goner Shipyard and hire a TL to move an asteroid to another sector, so you can build your mines where you want them, not where the asteroids are!

Hope this helps.
