Hey everyone I need help installing the new mod and most of the threads that I read are confusing and I need some one to explain it to me :?

I download it then extract it to a tempuary folder on me desk top now what do I do?:headbang:

That is where you went wrong. XTM goes into the same folder that X3.exe is in: C:\Program Files\DeepSilver\X3 Reunion.

Also you need to activate the Script Editor. There is a Sticky that tells you how to it. XTM is self-extracting unlike its predecessors so its straight-forward in comparison.

Ref MBD, I just confirmed over on TXU forum that it is indeed now self-extracting.

When you click on the .exe file it will now open and ask you where to copy it to.

Simply use the ... button to point to your X3:R install folder.

It should put everything in the right place for you.

Also, if you still have your clean X3:R folder, I suggest you make a copy of it and archive it. Then you will always have a clean X3:R install to add any other mods you want to try.

Xtm Problem

Hi

I have been playing x3 for quite a while now so I decided to get XTM mod for it. But ever since I installed it my x3 game which I only just start is running horribly jerky. All the new ships come up with stuff like readme 17031, only half of the sector have come up no terran or otas sectors. And ontop of that there are no new people to start of as. Now I know that you are going to tell me to reinstall it but I have 5 times and the game itse;f has also been replaced.

I install the game
I install the updates to 2.5
I then extract the games xtm 7a file into the main x3 folder
I installed crycow or what ever it is plugin manager
I then installed the xtm script 7.3

Now I know for a fact my computer should be able to run this game.

I think the version of the XTM you have is corrupted. The latest version (0.7.5) can be downloaded from here:Linky Install the Plugin Manager before XTM.

Xtended mod: bug?

while comparing some M3s, i noticed the perseus sentinel S in Trinity Sanctum comes with a 1x125 MJ shield... however, the max shields are 4x25MJ shields... does anyone know anything about this?

Sorry fo my English but I am using a translator online.
I have had a problem known of xtm, a commercial block . In practice the so many TS that there were to beginning departed disappeared son leaving the firm economy.
I am using the last patch of xtm, the 0.75, has not installed any script or other mod.
I have had the suggestion to use the cheats LV to add TS to the races but I don't know if were effective and I would prefer a practical solution.
I don't know if the matter has already been essay, excuse me if him, but not knowing the English is a problem for me to look for in this forum

XTM problem

Hey its me again I have this really eratating problem it seems I can't
do sohene mission 2. I think is the name anyways I have done the first one. I have gone to the sphere and nothing. It doesn't tell me to do anything and I tried a few different times. Is there anyway to fix this or and I doomed not to own the mother of all ship the Terran MO. Any help would be greatly appreicated. Also how can i tell where I stand with therrans there is no reputation with them.

ship problems in xtm

is it me or is there an inherent problem with adding different ships to the game when playing xtm? it dosent seem to matter where i download them from(x wings, battletsar galactica, star trek, babylon 5 etc)i always seem to get problems with them, sometimes they are there in the shipyards, sometimes they are not, sometimes i buy the ship, equip it, fly it out of the shipyard and go to external view and....nothing except moving space.

any help ? :evil:

Im getting the same problem...but my game just crashes...so i uninstall them and continue the game as normal

Running different and most likely conflicting mods usually results in what you're seeing. :roll:

This might seem like a silly question but I've had issues with other games so I have to ask...

Is XTM a mod, which allows me to play both the standard game without changes and XTM; or is it a [/i]total conversion[/i] that only allows me to play XTM only.

Some of the stuff I have read about XTM suggests that it overwrites Vanilla X3R files which implies a change to X3R. I haven't been playing X3R for long and I want to be able to continue doing so, as it was intended to be played by EgoSoft, but I also want to play XTM. In other words, can I start a new XTM game while continuing to play my current unmodified X3R game?

jay, i can answer this ^^
yes, when you open X3R (either through shortcut or the .exe file),
it will start XTM. i'm not sure how to uninstall the mod though,
i think you have to manually remove all the files you installed.

Xander Cade,

Uninstalling XTM from a X3R install rarely goes well from past posts and experience. Once you add XTM and save any game, that save has XTM written into it (ships, universe, stations etc).

Best bet is to stop right now and take stock:

1) make a copy of your entire X3R:XTM install folder and save it.

2) make a copy of all your current save games.

3) Do You have any copy of a completely clean X3R install BEFORE adding XTM? Are any of your saves clean vanilla before XTM was added?

Depending on how much current empire you need to save, you can either restart a clean install of X3R and try to get back to a vanilla save (one BEFORE) you added XTM.

If you start a clean X3R, you can either use the Plugin Manager to install XTM again using separate "profiles" for X3R and XTM

or you can make two separate installs, one for X3R and one for XTM BUT you have to move your save games in and out as no matter what the X3.exe always uses the same save game folder location.

I've never tried using the PM profiles system, instructions are in the PM links.

If any of that helps and you decide which way to go, holler back if you need links to steps for each scenario.

hi all

Anyone noticed that when on XTM , the npc factories got not owned ships (traders or fighters or whatever) ??

in 5 hours of play, no npc ship docked with my stations, there are some ships flying around the universe but what are their home bases , dunno , visited alot of npc stations to see if they have owned traders and such , no luck , its like they are all dead ...

anyone experiencing this prob ?

ive already asked on XTM forums about this and they say :
What's happened is the "jobwings" script (It basically tells the game that there should be "x" amount of ships in the universe) has failed to launch properly, resulting in the lack of NPC's........


but i want to make sure im not the only one

about the fix tho , they said :
I'm afraid the only real way around this problem is start your game all over again.... (It may take multiple restarts before the script kicks in properly)
ive restarted the game several times without luck , same prob every restart :(

as i hate using cheats, i cant use LV cheats to make money and when i play , i like building lot of stations for money , npc usualy trades with me on non modded game , in XTM is impossible to play like this , the only way to sell products from owned stations is to asign alot of freighters to sell at best price the products... wich kinda sux seeing alot of ships for 1-2 Solar power plants ...

There is also the resource supply prob , for example , my SPP need crystal and usualy i set a couple of traders to buy crystals and they do ... on XTM instead , they go flying around and dont buy nothing or buy very rarely cause the npc factories dont produce crystals as they got no resources to use for producing their products cause they got no traders bringing them the resources ... rarerly u see an npc trader that docks to a station and actualy sell/brings wares there ...

anyone else experiencing this ?

to bad cause the rest of the mod is awsome :(

Have you restarted from scratch, meaning a brand new game and not trying to load an old save?

If it is still refusing to start, I would actually suggest a re-install. When I first started running XTM, I could tell right away that my install was bad because there was no traffic at all in Argon Prime start (Extreme). On a good install, as soon as I started there was traffic running through Argon Prime.

Until I got a clean start, I didn't bother trying to troubleshoot individual scripts.

If you don't have an empire to save, maybe a clean install will sort it out. Otherwise you'll never confirm whether the actual install is bad and never find the source of the problem.

If you decide to re-install, take the time to ensure Vanilla will start clean and then archive that install folder. Then simply add XTM to copy of that folder and try for a clean start in XTM. If it doesn't work then just start over with a new copy of vanilla.

Also if you reinstall fresh, note that there are separate versions of XTM 7.5 for full clean installs and updates.
