I never thought that this modification would be possible. My dream came true. I am so grateful that I can hardly put it into words.

When I saw the preview of version 1.30, it surpassed my wildest dreams. Thanks for that. :)

I like the concept of the tunnel too, but not sure if it would be possible on ships like the Arawn though.

Version update:
1.31 Starting position fix for the player
1.30 Landing platform with Skunk is back, position fixes on all ships for better view

Shortened the tunnel, fixed L/XL landing platform locations for better view.

Capitalshipbridges in Action in Action ("little" fight is ongoing in the background)


THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL NOW. Is there a way it could get even better?
I have played X2 (and no game in between) as a little kid and I loved sitting on my Argon Titan on this red bridge and my imaginary did the rest of walking around and... now I am crying. :cry: I shouldn't be happy about a virtual game so much but this was one of my childhood fantasies.

I think I am going cuddle my boyfriend and/or pillow (who/what cross's my path first) now and just be happy for the next 30minutes or so...

Thanks for the video! That looks fantastic with the action and the dudes in the chairs :)

Suggestion (not sure if possible):
Adddition of Hull and Shield status for ships we are stood on to the HUD. Even though I was watching a video, I was catching myself wondering if it would die around 'me' :)

Would it be feasable to place the bridge within a copy of the landing pad and hide the landing pad? I may not have explained that very well.

The idea was that maybe that could provide some of the dynamic shadows that I think Linofett mentioned Egosoft would wish for a bridge. I guess that assumes that shadows could be modelled around your structures and only with window light but dunno if that is possible.

@Tamina - nice video! Although is it possible to play with such low FPS? Also it seems you got stuck in 2:40. Sometimes it happens, jumping/crouching usually helps. I don't know what is wrong here. Maybe I messed up a model somehow in the Blender.

Already on my mind. I can show these values right now as the Balance is shown in the Tamina's video, but I want something more immersive. Like see-through hologram in front of the Captain's chairs. Something like this:

(fair enough with the shadows! They are not much of a concern to me compared to the added fun of having a bridge)

I agree with you 100% Sparky, just having the bridge (and now tunnel) makes it like a whole new game, so what if we missing some correct shadows, I really don't care :)

Indeed. This mod surely adds another layer of immersion to XR. Very well done (yet again)!

There is a circular room on some stations called "Trade District " with huge computer screens and Windows all around / lower ceiling ...which would make an excellent bridge mesh...
This is a must have mod ,thank you very much ....

Yeah, that would be pretty. Would it be possible to have any of the existing screens displaying useful information?

Thanks :D Well I am waiting for my new computer to arrive the next days, meanwhile I am playing on my laptop. :)
With Fraps recording meanwhile the FPS are really unstable, yes, however the last updates improved performance a lot.

I am getting stuck at this position everytime when I am crouching and walking under the fence, doesn't matter if my ship is moving or not :/

So yeah this is rad, I feel perfectly happy just trading in my plot Rahanas, having a cool bridge gives the game a completely different tempo.

Tunnel is awesome, creates actual space on a ship, way more immersion.

What do you guys think about instead of a landing platform to have garage/hangar where Skunk will be parked and some other ships could be placed? That way no external view will be possible from this garage, but it will be huge space inside the ship. Maybe this could help with better immersion? Now it is little awkward to land on top of the capital.

I am talking about this place:

This could be only for largest ships, e.g Arawn, Fulmekron, Olmekron - for those which actually could have such huge place inside. For smaller ships Landing Platform is ok.

yes, I like the look of that, but maybe silly on some of the smaller ships ie Fedhelm.

It's also occurred to me that you are changing things that are dependent on personal choice. Since you have already progressed through several versions could you offer players a choice of which bridge they install?

Nevertheless 'Excellent' work!
