Just the SRM one....the Jobs contained in the EES is there for vanilla users.....ie you want to use EES but are not running either SRM or the Xtra pack.

It does say this in the ''read me'' contained in the download

People don't read them. Why spend five minutes reading the documentation when you can waste five hours waiting for someone to respond to a forum post? It may not make sense to us, but I'm sure there's some logic in there somewhere.

(Obsolete) EES Configuration Tool v1.1 (release notes)

I have included a sample configuration file and updated EES scripts with this version. No significant functional changes in this release.

Updated EES scripts now support seperate exclusion bit masks for missiles and lasers.

I have not had a chance to look into it myself, but then again I have not witnessed the issue personally. I run EES with AWRM and Cadius's pack so there are at least 3 weapons mountable on any given ship.

In doing my recent update to the EES scripts I can see no reason why M5s should not spawn with any weapons. My guess is it is something todo with your configuration.

The new EES scripts (included with my Config Tool) are a little more permissive (errors are treated as warnings and only reported once per load - the error logic is such that only a maximum of 1 error will be reported per entry with some errors taking precedence over others in a reasonably logical manner).

I would suggest downloading my EES Tool, install the included EES scripts and then use my tool to import your configuration, re-export it in the new format and re-run your test with the fully updated kit and kabudle.

If there is no improvement then a clean install (if that has not already been tried) is recommended.

Finally, failing that you could always run with my AWRM mod (like I am) as I have not witnessed the issues you are describing.

EDIT: Ok, I have a long shot idea on what might be causing the issue but it is a real long shot. If you are still experiencing the problem with my latest EES scripts then you may want to try this (Obsolete) alternate script file. It has a small change to prevent sorting of the laser lists if there is only 1 entry.

I have noticed two downloads of my Tool and alternate script... Has anyone any feedback on the results? Did it or did it not fix it?

I tested it and so far it seems to have solved the problem.

Ok, in that case there is probably a similar bug with missiles since everything points to a bug with the MCSI array sorting command. I will update the script set and include it with v1.2 of my EES Configuration Tool.

Yeah, I meant to try that out, but I didn't get the chance. Sorry. I'll try to confirm Varek's report soon. Within the next day or so. I've got to update the Xtra version, as well. Hopefully, before the next SRM comes out.

I am just trying to bottom out some of the behaviour in my EES Tool... hopefully should have a new release with an updated set of EES scripts later this week (Completed).

[ external image ] EES Configuration Tool v2.0 (release notes)

I have included a sample configuration file and updated EES scripts with this version. The main changes for this release are addition of priority list cloning and dialog based editing of priorities lists (multiple select drag-and-drop interface).

Included EES scripts support seperate exclusion bit masks for missiles and lasers and also should now spawn lasers and missiles as intended in all circumstances.

EES can be used as-is with Vanilla but I would recommend using the patch included with my EES Config Tool v2.0.

Xtra/SRM Job files are designed to be used with those mods.

Why on Earth would you want to your X-tra/SRM jobs in vanilla? Those jobs add ships from those mods, so no mods no ships, it makes no sense to install X-tra jobs on vanilla.

As Mr. Who rightly says - No, because those job files require either SRM or Xtra Jobs as appropriate.

If what you are looking for is either the Unleashed or no-civs options then there are vanilla options (but not in this thread to the best of my knowledge).

I just want to add the flavor of the pirates patrol that have this jobs to a vanilla game. In other words have more action. Ty anyway.

In that case you probably need to look here.

Would it be possible to improve the loadout of the sector police? As it stands they use only M4's and M5's with M5's being the predominant choice. Being a police force they should at least have some better equipment than the space equivilent of sticks a rocks. Especially with mods like IR, MBR, and RRF. With IR the pirates are way more active than in vanilla and with SRM installed too, it gets even worse. Pirate Titan's, Oh my.

Improving the loadout of a just subsection of a race would require ammendment to the jobs/scripts that spawn the members of said sub-group.

The best you can do without such changes is to adopt a weapons mod with an appropriate EES configuration (my AWRM mod may fit into that category)

I think he's referring to the ships themselves not the weapons...

I'm sure thats something that can be easily changed in jobs and I'm sure Vkerinav can oblige.

Maybe the police should have a few M3s and M6s, but nothing bigger. The Police should not have the same kind of resources as the military.
