interesting... There's a lot of vids from the GIC... for some unknown reason I thought there had only been one presentation that was shown over and over...

Nice to see new things!!!

Where?! :o
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

Just watched the Think vid. Was nice to get a good glimpse of the new UI, "My Missions, My Property, etc". Also a couple of missions, one of which caught my eye. "The Sol Incident" "The Mysterious Ship" , xenon ship perhaps? Can't wait to find out. Mission briefings are a welcome improvement too.

The new Terran stations look fantastic, saw a Buster flying through what could've been a Shipyard or Edock maybe. And the Terrans sure like their stations "Large", look forward to having a dogfight around one of those.

Play.com here I come.

Excellent work Egosoft

The former probably won't offer jump drive compatibility.
Perhaps if this is true the Terran capital ships Point-to-Point Jumpdrives will be brought in from XTM so that you don't need traditional gates? I'd love to see PtP make the game either way, even if they further increase the energy used (was double in XTM).

Waste of space that "My " prefix, as there are no "Their Missions" or "Their Property".

Never like using the "My" prefix, redundant most of the time. Hmm wonder if one can change the text...

myVariable, or is it?

I'm mostly interested in basic stuff being right :
- using the UI to move a ship to an empty position in space
- 20 M3+ fighters (player owned fighters) vs. 2 Pirate Falcons means 2 dead pirate Falcons 100% of the time.
- lvl25 UT not trying to fly though Xenon & Pirate space
- 3D stategic view of a sector
- An enermy that actively tries to hunt me down and hurt my resources
- After I kill 200 ships of one race then that race wakes up and actually does something about it
- Enhancements to the Player HQ especially in regard to gathering resources
- Military and civilian split in races
- Better way of handling friendly fire i.e. 1 stray BPAC shot that did 0.1% damage to you whilst dispatching that destroyer that was about to kill you doesn't really mean I'm an enermy does it?
- Oi stop firing GPPC at M5 fighters you numpty Carrier
- Being able to dismantle and relocate factories & player HQ
- Laser towers and defence structures that are up to the job

Some of it is definately on its way with X3:TC they (including testers) need to be careful though as expanding the universe and adding new stuff means addressing the gameplay issues/anoyances is even more important.

removal of roids and mini roids from main shipping areas would be a bloody good idea, the fact that common sense would dictate that with this amount of rocks in a sector its very hazardous to ships, yet no, they are all over the main routes, very badly thought out there
About the name - i was lost for a name on the forum and looking round, then a Bob Hope film came on, and i thought "that will do nicely"

i was born and raised argumentative i dont mean to offend ...... sorry

You can clear them yourself with the bonus pack. A caiman miner with 5 MDS's using "attack rocks" is effective at clearing sectors like Three Worlds, especially OOS. Although I usually just make it mine the rocks, which does have the same effect but is obviously alot slower.

True, I only hope if thats still the case, the AI has been improved to better plot avoidance courses and not dance around them for so long or even crash into them.

Seem's very odd that a game thats being launched in 4 weeks time has very little facts and info on the game!?

......perhaps there hiding the fact not much new content is added?

:? There has been announcement of a number of new features, several videos, and a dev blog giving some details. And given we've had 'build' and 'think' videos, I expect that we'll have a couple more videos ('fight' and 'trade') before release. How much info do you want?

theres lots of facts available about the game.

theres 3 trailers, some of them with voice overs with information. Theres several interviews and a game preview, and theres a demonstration at a games covention.

plus you have the blog from several developers each with additional information about the game

Has it been about a week generally between the BUILD videos and the THINK videos? If so maybe its one per week then after the last two it will probably be gold by then.

Closer to four weeks, actually :) ('Think' vid was announced on the 31st July)

I would expect that they will release vids for all four aspects prior to release though.

All TC info is either in the OP of this thread, or in the OP of the threads linked to from the OP of this thread. In one of those, the most it is narrowed down to is 'late September'.

Alot of people were batting around the notions a few months back that perhaps we would get modular ships, or maybe even an upgrade system that allows for greater customization and tweaking of components within your ships. Is any of that going to be put in?

BTW: Holy freaken Hell this looks good :D I can't wait until this is released, going to start saving my money for it now.

I would also like to say one thing: I find it hard to put support behind larger companies who wholeheartedly ignore the players of the game, perfering to view them as you would animals at a zoo, but Egosoft has proven to me countless times over that they have a deep seated appreciation for their modding community, and their player community as a whole, which speaks volumes to me on the character in the team behind it all. Thank you for all you have done ES team, I look forward to this release, and any subsequent releases in the future.

Not that we know. I'm very doubtful of the former idea also.
