@ AJK, that's absolutely no good. Normally I'd tell you to reject reality and substitute your own, but some RL issues are difficult to dispel that way
hope you get better soon!
@ Fiksal,
Now here's a thought for everyone. If C3 plans to hold a sector hostage with the Omega, which sector shall it be?...
Danna's Chance, perhaps?
Also, I wonder if the Xenon or the Kha'ak might also have interest in the Omega. The Xenon, given that they were present in Blue Lagoon when the artifact was discovered, most likely have some minor information about it. And the Kha'ak always have kna'ack (
) for showing up where people would really rather they didn't.

@ Fiksal,

Brilliant, I'll begin composing the lead-in to T'ach's and Marcus's meeting and I'll PM it to you. I'm thinking that Marcus might have some minor trust issues with T'ach based on past experience, and T'ach might have to dispel those issues. (for now
)
They'll most likely be discussing a partnership in the employ of the Baron... their first task will probably be to pilfer more Gencore technology. Possibly something that could protect from the Omega.

Why would C3 hold a pirate sector hostage? I'm thinking they probably don't know a certain piratical bigwig lives there
If they were going to hold anywhere hostage, it'd be one of the major races' core sectors or Omicron Lyrae, perhaps.
The Xenon would most definitely have an interest, if they knew of it's existence. I mean, most of the planets in the game that are just molten lumps of lava are because of some cataclysmis Xenon weapon test or other. Stands to reason, in my eyes

say they were meant to match a summer temperature of 30 C,
0001 1110
'accidently flip' a bit:
1001 1110
= 158 C
that's what we call an "ops"

As C3 will feature in my next post, I shall give a faction creation sheet here.
Computation Corporation Conglomerate
However, this name is often abbreviated to 'C3' for obvious reasons.
Location:
The Head Office is located in Argon Prime, planetside. However, they own manufactories all over the Universe, and several other Offices in various other sectors.
Leadership:
Company direction is provided by an elected Board of Directors. However, a new Board has been recently voted in, and seem determined to hold onto the position. Presumably, this will entail restructuring C3 so that there are no more elections as to the management of the company. The lesser Offices each have their own Regional Manager, and stations and manufactories are usually handled by a Section Manager. However, the leadership of the Board is absolute - if a C3 employee is told to do something by the Board, it must be done.
Ideology/Race:
Mostly of Argon extraction, although there are a fair few Teladi on the payroll. The Board is purely Argon, but many of the individual Directors employ Teladi as advisors and aides.
As far as an ideology goes, they are purely capitalistic, and highly competetive. As a result, they have achieved a position in which Gencore is their only siginificant rival, and the economic battle that has raged between them is the stuff of legend at most stock exchanges.
Military:
None to speak of. At least, that's what the Board says. But there are the obligatory station defence fighter wings, and C3 has more than enough money to hire an entire fleet of mercenaries if they should so wish.
They also get a number of defence contracts from the Argon and Teladi governments, so the manufacturing and command capability is there, if C3 did want to field a navy of its own.
Also, C3 are willing to do almost anything to get one over on Gencore.
Brief History:
Originally set up as a rich man's hobby to make even more money in the late 750's, it grew and grew to the point where most other privately-owned companies gave up trying to compete, and went for niches in individual sectors. One such company that refused to be cowed from the offset was Gencore Technologies (later to become the Gencore Tech Alliance after a series of mergers), and the rivalry has continued unabated ever since. For nearly five jazuras the two companies have been neck-and-neck, basically unable to pull ahead of one another. However, C3 recently came across a rather interesting piece of imagination, which they will no doubt use to try and secure their economic interests in the Universe for a long time to come.
