Im sick of "new ships, sectors, greater economy, etc."

In every update, patch, mod i see only new ships, sectors........
Its fun for the first couple of minutes to explore the sectors and fly the ships but then it becomes ->

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!!!!!

I would like to see a totaly new addition like the existence of ship interiors and the ability to explore them(go in med bay, cargo bay, open doors etc.) Or maybe planet landings? Or mp  at least a LAN one.

Or "blowing up ship physics" like in freelancer (parts fall of, fire etc.)

there have been threads discussing multiplayer, planet landing and walking inside stations/ships, and by the looks of it, it's not going to happen.

I told you, I told you all and you wouldn't listen to me: they will release an expansion to enhance the current game and correct some of it's faults, not a new and wasteful game!!!

The title says much about the plot and confirms my anticipation: after the uncertain end of X3-Reunion, the Terrans ruled by a sick totalitarian regime will try their best to eliminate the Xenon, to revenge for the 700 years of isolation and regress of Earth, they will take over and make war with everyone that stands in their way, including the falling Argon Federation(I expect a civil war). I think the Ancients will get involved for this time, to save the weakened Xenon and to punish the human species for defying their master plan.

Well, I'm happy about this release, we'll see further.

Interesting news, I REALLY hope they'll overhaul the interface/menus for this new one. It was a shame to see such a detailed game-world basically crippled by such a poorly implemented control system (I'm not referring to the ship controls here, but rather... everything else. Remotely controlling - and even just checking up on - my traders/fighters was ridiculously fiddly).

Oh, and please don't skimp on the translation and voice acting this time. They really are important ;)

Also, I'm hoping that if this is indeed the final instalment in the story that we'll see egosoft go back to the drawing board and maybe come back with a less clichéd universe... the standard trader race/mechanical race/warrior race/insular race/humans in the middle of it all formula just doesn't cut it imo.

Egosoft's design and artwork talent + a more mature and original story and/or setting = the ideal space sim.

Given that Egosoft stated openly some time ago that their plan was an expansion, not a new game, it's hardly like you were the Beholder Of Truth, is it? :P

If it has a new 3D RTS style sector map (like everyone wants) I'm in.

If it is just a story expansion, not interested sorry fella's game engine changes are mandatory for an X3 expansion in my view.

We have all been into the X series for many years, it'll be a shame to see it go, but maybe after its gone they will finally start work on the OU. It was always said that they had too many other things going on to take time to do it, so maybe now they will. If we lose the X universe completely, it will be a terrible waste of a Brilliant idea, one that was around with a dedicated fan base longer than a lot of so called big games, and with great detail that many games cant match, it is great to see a new game again, but I'll be sorry to see the series end.

But one question remains: how did that one game shop know the name terran conflict? it's been months now since somebody spotted that name on their web page and wrote about it in a thread. :D
lucky guess?

BIGGER sectors (we do have SETA), fixed (Split Fire, ie) planetary positions, a return of true Nebulas, completion of some things noticed in scripts/texts/etc that looked interesting.

Lots of things for a wish list. Just nobody will know what (cept maybe the betatesters) until it goes live.

So empty-looking space with no visual sign of being inside a nebula then? (that's how it'd be in a "true" nebula afterall).

Engine changes are not only un-neccesary (afterall, not everyone can run it at full-whack yet... there's lots more oomph to be had from that engine), but changing the engine would make it a new game in my opinion.

Bear in mind though, lots of places would have bundled up Bala Gi, called it an expansion and charged you for it - so I'm expecting lots more from this.

I'd say a publisher leak myself.

Actually I'd say that's the one thing that's ruled out! We don't call the US Civil War the "American conflict". The name implies the Terrans will be fighting someone in the X-Universe - perhaps everyone.

Some kind of fleet software allowing to easily manage a lot of fighter (equipment, order, including turret order) would be great for carrier. I find them quite useless ATM

That's why I hate M1s. M2>M1. So yeah, that'd be kinda useful

Actually, for me, more in the line of X2 type nebula's (but updated and cooler looking). And neb's that can do various things to a ship (shield popper, hull eater, sensor nuller, etc.).

These sectors with all around visual reduction is just plain silly. Especially when you can see the planets, moons, stars though you are SUPPOSEDLY inside a sight reducing neb.

This is probably not the thread for such discussion, but I agree fully with Jakesnake here. Definitely X2 style nebulas were much nicer imho.

Also, the lack of hull eating neb's in X3 was a disappointment for me. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard putting them back in.

Have you heard the good news my son?
Yes....there's going to be another X-uni installment - looking forward to it!
(around about March 09 :P )

I got the feeling that these got chucked 'cos everyone was complaining they were the bane of their game.

My wish would be a more immersive & extensive plot expansion (with much more believable interactive characters).
especially as this is to be a large 'standalone expansion' ;), I hope the MD aspect lives up to it's potential.

I wonder if we will get to cause different endings, ie a 'ride off into the sunset' versus 'total Earth domination/destruction' ?

To the guys that complained about the interface and manual:

I never had a problem with the interface, there is just so much depth to the game that I was able to forgive a simplified UI not being included. Helped me remained immersed in the complicated environment. Who says space travel is supposed to be simple? Plus it keeps the amount of fender benders in space down to a minimum by keeping out those not qualified to fly.

As for the manual, who needs a manual when we have excellent contributors to this board that put in nearly obsessive work creating extremely detailed "How-to" guides and spread sheets? For many, it would seem, this is almost as fun as the game. Why take away that aspect from that particular community with a manual the size of a dictionary?

EgoSoft, keep up the excellent work, and continue to make complicated "adult" games that actually require discovery and thought to play.

P.S. Xenon_Destroyer: I was absolutely kidding in my post on page 3 concerning X4! I know you guys are stressed anough without me adding to it by asking inane questions regarding possible future products. Just trying to tweak the masses a teensy little bit in a fun way.
