Re: Trump
Twitter just threated the orange one with a perma ban if he doesn't remove some of his tweets. Sadly, this will probably do more to curb him than any legislative body will at this time.

Re: Trump
Just noticed they've deleted several of his tweets, explaining they violated Twitter rules... - I don't doubt that come the 20th he'll be removed, regardless.
Can you imagine his blood pressure now... You reap what you sow, and he's in for one bumper harvest.
*edit* Oh, he's suspended for 12 hours... LOL, he'll die...

Re: Trump
You know something I'm taking away from this? I played Fallout 3 a long time ago and thought it was ridiculous that I could use a simple rifle to storm the waves of supermutants and get into the US Capitol building...
I just assumed it was a fortress ??? This makes America look like a complete joke, and it wont be forgotten. The storming of the Reichstag was a culmination of WW2 and took the combined might of multiple superpowers to storm. The US Capitol can apparently be stormed by a few cross-eyed hicks (master race right) and the cops just pushed them a bit and then let them in (if they were black it would have been different right). Apparently the world isnt as it seems.

Honestly I dont think his blood pressure fluctuates at all. He is an old psychopath with NPD and just doesnt care anymore.

Re: Trump
It's mind boggling why anyone would want to risk their lives or freedom for Trump. He doesn't know any of their names, he doesn't want to know. He doesn't give a damn about anyone whose last name isn't Trump and first name isn't Donald and doesn't have a suffix. He sure as hell won't be paying for their bail money or court costs. I doubt he'll even toss them some commissary cash to buy a bar of soap.
Now both the house and senate have rejected the objection to the Arizona electoral votes, overwhelmingly in both cases. They can finally move forward with the counting of the votes. Supposedly some of the republican senators that indicated they will object have changed their mind following the riot in the capitol. Hopefully this will be over without any further interruptions.

Re: Trump
Feeling nostalgic, I dropped back to the beginning of this thread, and some interesting posts start on page 2.
I cannot wait until this thread slides down the forum, and he's either consigned to history or a prison cell. - I do feel, considering the length of this thread and the strain it puts on the poor Egosoft servers, a new thread should start on the 20th.
With four people dead last night and a number injured, can Trump be held legally held responsible for the actions of his supporters? It does appear it could be argued he incited them to act.
And I noted that there were still objections to the ratification of some state votes (recently Pennsylvania.) - Are some people still trying use this for personal political gain over the good of the country they swore to serve?

Re: Trump
I have no words.
I was expecting some extreme actions from Trump's supporters and they delivered like the brainless ghouls they are.
Some countermeasures have to be built into US' Constitution as soon as possible, to avoid something like this to happen again. Because it will happen again, Trump lost just because he stretched too far with his narcissism and "called to vote" a lot of people who wasn't going to vote, just to vote against him. My impression is that, if he were just a bit less crazy, he would have won his second mandate.

Yep... ol' Rudy Colludy, world's greatest lawyer.
And it's finally over. There's no more legal challenges, no more procedural bs to try to abuse. Trump has, again, been certified the loser. So unless he baracades himself in the Whitehouse, there's not a thing he can do to stay there past noon ET on the 20th.

Lets wait and see. Trump may go but the polarization of the society and post-truth politics and ideologies remain. Trump for me was never the cause, he is symptom of existing disease. That is a problem that needs dealing with in a post-trump America. Or you will get Trump 2.0 in 4 or 8 years. IMHO

Re: Trump
I'd not appreciated even a convicted criminal can run for president, and I now understand it takes being specifically barred from running for public office to stop you, assuming you qualify otherwise.
As I remember, many republicans didn't want him to be nominated last time, and I wonder if they have some party mechanism to stop him running as one of their own.
Perhaps he'll form his own party...
I see it as unlikely he'll run again, especially if he's barred from Twitter permanently.

Re: Trump
I think a lot are to be blamed for what happened yesterday. First and foremost Trump himself. Then the GOP for not gagging Trump, and not seeing him as a threat to incite violence. There also how did the rioters get close to the capital hill building? and why did it take so long for the national guard to get there?
A huge list of errors. The GOP really need to take a good long hard look at themselves. And there are over 120 republicans that still objected to the certificates, they I think are named and shamed on another site.
its good that Biden will become the next president. But there is still a growing danger I think of more violence to follow. Sure DC will be in lockdown until the 21. not sure if that will do enough, or if it will spread to other states?
There been calls for the 25th amendment, but that isn't that clear, and only really useful for a president that will concede. Not to one that will continue to fight. So the chances of using that is slim. there is impeachment, might have a slightly higher chance. But to me, Trump should be held accountable. He been gaslighting, even if he doesn't say, do this, do that, he still brought those people to DC, fed them lies and deceit. So people believed him. And considering a few were armed. It should have been a no brainer, those rioters had more on their minds then just a peaceful march.
I'm sure there will be a full investigation, But to me, I still fear what Trump might still do, he probably got pressured into his last speech when he said there will be a transfer of power. But it didn't condemn the violence, not once. And to call those rioters special people, just shows he wanted that to happen.
The GOP needs to disown him, and a full investigation needs to happen. But the US I don't think is out of the woods yet, oh no.

VIdeo of the shooting: https://twitter.com/1stacyphillips/stat ... 7411806211
Seems the trump protestors were between official police and the secret service agents behind a barricaded door, the girl in question, a trump protester climbed onto the broken window and got shot by said secret service or building security.

I suspect that within the year, the US will make it law that all Presidential candidates will legally have to divulge their tax records, so we'll be free of the Trump family making a run for a couple of generations.

Re: Trump
Major changes need to be done, not just divulging tax returns. Even the 25th amendment needs reform. And should include removing a president from office, if he / she incites violence. or is just mentally unfit. basically making it easier to remove a president if they have done wrong. As the way it stands, its very hard to remove a said president. a lot needs to change. And I think America needs to look at itself and ask what direction they want to head. that also includes the GOP, as they helped enabled Trump, and allowed him to get this far, without much of a way of obstruction. The GOP stat on their hands and did nothing..Golden_Gonads wrote: ↑Thu, 7. They are getting what they sowed. Big questions need to be asked. Otherwise this will happen again, and it will be far worse.

And she said this on twitter.
Just hours before the violence, Babbit tweeted:
Of though her death is a sadness, (and 3 others) but still, what they did was totally and utterly wrong.“Nothing will stop us… they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours… dark to light!”

Re: Trump
Small update, some of Trump's senior officials have resigned. and maybe more to follow.
‘I can’t stay here’ — Mick Mulvaney resigns from Trump administration, expects others to follow

I personally think they should hang their head in shame. They too have a lot to answer for.
