Well, at least I can say that I'm the best in my wing.

I think it's more what it comes wrapped around. Your average planet has a fair degree of stopping power.Limbo365 wrote:Youd think a ship with enough shielding to stop Several thermonuclear weapons would be able to withstand one silly little atmosphere.Mockingbird-UK wrote:Hurrah!

67 - You Want It Where?!?
Well it's a thought, but I'm fairly sure going after that Python is an operation that is pretty likely to result in some substantial casualties unless it's done right, so for now I've put that one on hold while I contemplate..
Meantime then, back to PTNI, as my standing with the Teladi is quite high these days and the NMMC Corporation would quite like me to come work for them. Seems a pretty sweet deal to me so far, just basic product acquisition missions for which I task 'Mockingbird'. The amounts aren't substantial, but the pay is pretty decent considering the minimal effort involved as I've got a lot of what they want kicking around on my Elephant already for one reason or another, or can easily source it from the PTNI area. If this is all they want me to do then I'm quite happy to be a corporate gopher, pays well enough anyway.
Down in my manufacturing sectors I've invested in a ten-strong mining fleet that shipped down all the way from Ianamus Zura and managed not to get offed by anything on the way, (which is always nice) and I've currently got them scouring the sector for all the mineral debris they can hoover up. Anything they collect that I can't directly utilise in the manufacturing complexes I'll load up on my Elephant and ship out to the Paranid sectors in the vicinity and offload at a profit, or even further away if the need is there.
Other than that, haven't really accomplished a whole lot today as spent most of it supervising 'Bloody Mary' while he tows asteroids around into a position I find pleasing to the eye. It all links quite nicely so far..

.. Still got more to add of course so we'll have to see how the rest fits together.
I'm not one hundred percent for certain, but I'm starting to get this vague suspicion that my 'Left a bit.. left a bit.. right a touch.. back a smidge. Actually no, I don't like it there. Can you put it back where it was?' is causing a certain degree of consternation over on 'Bloody Marys' flight deck. It's something about the mottled purple face and clenched teeth on the comms channel that's making me wonder..

We are all explorers of the deepest reaches of space.
We don't just watch space on our monitors and listen to the sounds in it:
We, all of us, each and every one of us, owns, to a man, as many operational Space Shuttles as NASA does.
Yes, we're all that awesome. Give yourself a hug.

You can use a key- 8 on the numpad I think- To align a factory straight on top of any existing object. After that, it's quite easy.Idleking wrote:N-S, considering the pictures of your "complex-rows" of factories, is the placement and orientation of the respective factories done by a script?
I can't imagine getting this done by hand....

Num5 aligns the factory to the closest object. Using the Up/Down keys you can pick an object from the sector map to be the alignment target. I usually Target my previous factory in the chain and use F3 to get an external view of that station. Using these methods I can get my stations mere cm apart, usually without some other bit touching and clanging.Lord of Nothing wrote:You can use a key- 8 on the numpad I think- To align a factory straight on top of any existing object. Hi N-S, been trolling this thread for weeks. Your story is very good and this is like a great manual to understand the X universe.
I have been eager to join your adventure and today i saw an idle Skate Prototype needed a pilot.
Pilot - tidurlagi
Race - Boron
Ship - Skate Prototype "Skate n Kill"
Loadout - 4x HEPT and/or 4x PRG, PAC for other turret
Missiles - Tempests, 30% probability
Purpose - Fighter/Bomber
Looks like there is no smell of war here, so lets shoot some debris.

That's why you don't plan for all things to go well...kerDajan wrote:Woah! Careful using this as a manual - no-one has the 'slugs luck!

I began using the rough ideas behind N-S' actions in my recent game, however having a backup plan or two up my sleeve. Works like a charm, most of the time - and when it doesn't, well, the first backup plan is yet to fail

Well, i figure if everyone and their mother is signing up, i may as well add my total lack of TC knowledge and chuck my name in as well
Pilot - Maskell, Jovi (honestly, that's my actual name, it gets weird seeing your first name repeated in the game quite a bit as a last name)
Race - Argon
Ship - Peagasus Raider
Loadout - 4x Alpha IRE
Missiles - Wasps, maybe, 10% probability
Purpose - Scout
What can i say, i like my ships fast , it means i can run away from novas and falcons, but i can still kill the small stuff, with a bit of luck and some good flying (i highly suspect I'll last 2 seconds if i get caught in OOS combat
)

Also reporting for duty Sir (Clicks heels, sharp salute)
Any of those spare ships will do, with a loadout I like to call "Gillette" (the best that man can get)
Ship to be named after one of the greatest men that every lived, who sadly shuffled off this mortal coil last week.

The figure raised his head out of a pool space fuel.
Why was he on the bridge of an elephant?
Why was the collision alarm going off...again.
Hazily, he remembered speaking to a man who refused to come into focus, despite switching between eyes. He remembered a brag that he could put a any station, anywhere, innsssh perfect. He also vaguely remembered a problem about gamblers but the thought refused to solidify.
But it was a job and any job was a good job. Although his last thought as he passed out again was that this was going to end badly.

oh thank the priest king, i was starting to panic, a lack of IREs would have totally put me off TCDoc Quixotic wrote:There are IRE's, but the various variants have been removed. An IRE is an IRE is an IRE: there are no differences in rate of fire, damage or cost.
