FDN is not finding the FDN models in the TDock files. Have you selected the FDN cat at start-up under mod selection, or installed it as a fake patch?wolf33055 wrote:I need some help getting started

why can i not get it to buy advanced satalites, there are some in the next system, but no matter what i do it'll just not do it.

FDN will only buy wares that are used for production, Adv Sat are final products so FDN won't buy them. This was a decision I made so FDN would not kill off normal trading.

I've gotten everything installed correctly, but I'm having a spot of trouble. I have a weapon complex set up in Ore Belt, and I wanted to put in an FDN node and have my supply transports supply that instead for distribution. However, when I give the order to buy energy cells (haven't tried anything else, but I assume it would be the same), the transport just undocks from the node and sits outside it. Is there some kind of option that I need to set for it to work? The problem only occurs with purchasing resources, I have a separate fighter selling off my products and that works fine.
Edit: Ok, I got it to where my merchants will purchase items using the standard trading orders. Is there a way to set a maximum amount of goods to be stored in the node? Using energy cells again, I want to only stock 100k energy cells at a time maximum in the node, but my trader will continually go out and purchase more cells forever at this rate.

No, there is no max limit as far as other trade scripts go. Well after using your mod for the past 24 hours i must say i am very impressed, so thank you.
two quick questions
how do you remove a ware from a node, eg i was trying to get the node to buy advanced satalites and hence you can't i would liek to remove it.
how do you set the ships Supply Software, i can't find it hence my relay nodes do not work.

The ship supply is under the FDN Menu on the relay. You can access it via the via the station command menu, or select the Relay from the main FDN menu. As for removing the ware, I'll look at that in the update I'm doing now.

Can't say as I have any.
LA - My CPU is starting to cause problems to the point where pretty much the only game I can play right now is Guild Wars, the rest end up completely crashing my computer after a few minutes.
I have no idea when I will be able to get this fixed (no job and no spare $$) but I will try to keep up the support but won't be able to test anything

The wares won’t hit the actual Node; they will go straight to the station that requires them. It works like this:wolf33055 wrote:It looks like i have some sort of bug on mine

Option 1: The Station task will request the ware from the Node, if the Node has the ware it is passed to the station.
Option 2: If the Node cannot supply the station it will first check other Nodes within range, if it’s able to source the ware it’s then passed to the station.
Option 3: If the ware is not available from other Nodes, the Node will then try and buy the ware from NPC stations, if its able to source the ware it’s then passed to the station (it: doesn’t actually hit the Node, but is passed directly to the station)
Note: The Node that facilities the buying of wares for the station is the Node that the station is linked to, not any other Node within range. There are a couple of reasons for this:
I didn’t want to kill of in the game use of trade ships (FDN’s ability to buy wares is limited to wares used for production, it’s not an open buy anything process)
I didn’t want to increase the complexity/possessing resources the script takes.
It’s the station calls the ware, not the Node.
Is the station that requires the ware linked to the Node?
If the Node is not buying the wares for the station the production will stop as the station will not have the wares to start another cycle?
You can easily see if the plugin.FDN4.Station.Task is running on the station: Open the scrip editor and you will see an additional information option, select this and it will show any running scripts under the objects information screen.

Loved Guild Wars, not played for a long time, IGN Logain Abler or mainly Luther Paendrag, Necro SS all the way

Hahaha, I think I may have run into you a time or two, the name is familiar. and Savannah Heat Elementalist all the way (well when I play ele XD). Also Logain Abler is not found in GW

I am hoping to get it fixed soon >_>, when I go back to my parents house I have some spare parts I am going to grab and test just incase it isn't the CPU (been told it is the cpu, psu, gpu so I am gonna test what I can although atm cpu seems likely).

Ok i think i have worked it out
The reason it looked like it was doing nothing is because when it first buys eg crystals the powerplant does start to produce, but doesn't show it, no timer etc.
that and i was running out of to many things, so the chain just stopped.
just a few more questions.
What dictates the selling price, is it the price set fro the node to buy in at?
Can you change the number of production runs worth of material that a node sends to a station? i do not have any complexes.

The Node will keep between 1 & 2 * amount of wares required depending on where in the cycle it is. You can only set the amount for intermediate wares on Complexes.

Ok now i know i am not going mad, here is what happened
My node is in the same section as my solar power plant (which is linked to the node)
i have a trade ship with the home base set as the solar power plant, is has been told to buy crystals at the best price.
the node had been set to buy crystals, but not sell them. the counter was already reset.
the trade ship docked at the node, bought the last 4 crystals and dropped it off at the solar power plant.
the node did not register this, that it had sold anything, but the stores dropped by 4.
