I have impression that Terran modules and stations are more armed than other races:

Asgard Battleship in action (one-shot HOP Odysseus):

Add fighters to storage capacity (e.g. these 4 shields tank fighters from PIO faction) and you have unstoppable monster :)

Effect on the station in that video was quite remarkable too. Had a feeling Asgard might be quite good for demolition duties. However did not expect 1/3 of that station's hull to be gone after the first shot. Can't wait to try that for myself.

Those beam weapons though 🙈 Barely hitting any target and dealing nearly no damage. 🙈

Can't wait to test how good it fares against a bunch of fighters - my fighters to be precise 😁

I came back to X4 recently and instantly installed VRO to 'fix' the turrets.

I love turrets now. :)

Still a bit better than other factions beam - just weak, instead of plain useless.
I think they are anti S/M weapons and Large Bolt are anti M/L weapons.

They're not that much more powerful (Terran L Beam 105MW vs. 88MW for the rest). Anyway, main point (as far as I'm concerned) of installing L Beams on destroyers is to keep evasive targets under continuous fire & prevent shield regen, so when conventional turrets (I generally use M Bolts) sporadically hit them they don't have to start from scratch every time. This approach has worked sufficiently well for my Behemoths that they don't need fighter support to rapidly dispose of S & M size targets, whereas they did when they were relying entirely on M Bolts for anti-fighter defences. Think a similar approach should work for the Asgard, though in that case I'll probably be using a 50/50 mix of L Beam + L Bolt, due to the paucity of M turrets on the ship.

Just to clarify, if you're talking about the shots from the external camera view between 3:35 and 3:45 in the video, those beams firing downwards are shooting at a smaller target that you can't see at that range. Its target box appears, very briefly, at the start of the external camera view sequence.

I like the sound of Terran beams.

The thing that really bother's me is S/M ship beams (Meson Stream) from Captain Collins video overheat from just one shot - due to that I absolutely hate Boson Lance and Mass Driver as it makes them plain unusable (bettter use Plasma which deals more dammage and you can make 3 shots before overheat).

Im not sure why he loaded it with beams on that video and not bolts, or at least ide like to see someone make a video of it with bolts, because i think they will be better against pretty much anything? That cerberus took quite a while to die and was getting hit by like 6 at one point. (Also noticed the cerberus was missing the asgard).

In some preview video's I noticed that in order to make Terran medical supplies you need Ice but no water?
is this intentional or did you forget about the Water that needs to be extraced from ice?

It's probably just streamlined for the terrans..no need to build an entire structure just to melt ice and run it through my fridge filter.

Probably... the sound effects in general are a huge letdown after the masterful sound in the last game. Surely it's easy for them to port over the sound effects that would fit well... ? :sceptic:

Terran sectors:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfENfvK_9To

Sol feels empty and somewhat devoid of resources (only Asteroid Belt & Oort cloud for minerals, and Mercury, Titan and Neptune for gases).
Also backgrounds and planets looks strangely worse than in X3:TC

What? My first and only thought was: Stunning. 🤗

TC planets/backgrounds look pretty good. They look like how the planets in our solar system look, there is not really much to improve here 😄 However, in CoH the planets seem much bigger and more detailed.

I get it, it is your subjective opinnion as is mine but I am just surprised because I have absolutly nothing bad to say 😃

This was my reaction as well. I think they look worse because X4's current Vulkan shaders just aren't up to non-VR game expectations yet (overall). I bet if the planet assets were loaded into XR 4.3 with those beautiful shaders (many of which might be usable now in latest Vulkan with HLSL, but I'm no expert), they'd look much better. I desperately hope COH sells well and Egosoft can bring in some great shaders/effects pro, at least part-time, at least to see about porting the amazing XR shaders into X4/Vulkan. Something has been off about these since release. Some have called it a "plastic-y" look on ship and station hulls. That sounds right to me. Another way to describe what's probably the same issue: most ship and station surfaces look washed out and just far too well-lit given the light sources present. It can be subtle but has a massive detrimental effect on X4's visuals. It's the main reason I have barely played for many months. I can post examples if helpful.

The Sol sector looks worse than X3:TC not only due to shader, but also due to placement and background:
- all sectors are just planet + bog generic starfield - they looks closer to reality, but also much more boring.

- Mercury at first look doesn't seem any different than Moon.
- Venus is kinda OK, but there should be more accent on how thick and violent it's atmosphere is - maybe some strorms and cloud animation like we seen in X-Rebirth?
- Earth also feel really generic - in X3:TC we were closer to orbit and we had imposing Torus.
- Moon - again bog generic and in some distance to the Moon - in X3:TC we were much closer, nearly above Moon (just like in one of Teladi secotrs in X4) with a good view of the Earth in the distance.
- Mars - due to the shader and light it feels much darker than in X3
- Asteroid Belt - I think it's the only sector which kinda looks better than in X3. Thanks to dust field background.
- Jupiter - looks less detailed surface than in X3 - looks at the cloud composition. Coud\ld be much better if we would add it's moons to make background more complex.
- Saturn - kinda OK, the rign do the job.
- Titan - same as Venus.
- Uranus - the surface is bland, but the rign pull the sector up.
- Neptune - same as Uranus
- Pluto - the only planet where dark shader works in the right way
- Oot Cloud - kinda close to asteroid Belt, but Belt seem to be better.

Segaris sectors are OK, but the background Nebula in Brennas Triumph looks ugly stretched and low detail than in both XR and X3:TC , it almost looks like we're back to X-BTF :gruebel:

X3 AP solar system tour for reference: https://youtu.be/o3HpkxxO854?t=470

Personally I think X4 looks fine (though I was hoping to be able to mine the various planetary rings).

Now I see what are we missing - Milky Way in the background - we can see it from Earth, so we should also see it from space.
X3 has it, albeit in strange form of orange dust in the background.
