Here are some suggestions I have for the upcoming patch then!

Generic Missions:

Sell Sector Information - an NPC is looking to buy sector information and is wiling to pay X amount of credits per sector. Player has the choice to sell the sector information for the asked price, or "try" and make a deal with the npc, by asking for 25% or 50% higher price. Asking for higher price could also backfire and the whole deal would be lost, as the NPC looses interest

Buy Abandoned Ship Coordinates - an NPC offers to sell coordinates for abandoned ship in a random sector. The price can be miniscule or outrageous, but the npc doesn't let the player know what kind of ship there is. The whole "deal" could also turn out to be a lie, as the npc just wanted some easy cash. The coordinates and sector name would be given in Message. Ships that could be abandoned this way could be anything - from M5 scouts to battle-damaged M0s (Hey, it's war out there, not every ship explodes, amirite?)

Repair NPC Ship - an NPC is in desperate need of help, as traversing through a xenon sector turned out to be almost lethal. The npc offers a fixed amount of money in exchange for fixing their ship. The ship could be fixed either by repair laser or by towing it to a shipyard. Player's reputation could determine the amount of ships needing repair so there could often be more than one in desperate need for repairs. With high reputation, there would be no time limit for this action. Player wouldn't be able to pilot the ships, as the ships would function the way a hired TL functions.

Now, some of the other ideas that I've had was to offer some of your ships as "Rentals". By this I mean that when player's reputation is high enough, they can offer to rent their ships to NPCs. Player gets paid per gate or per hour (In-game). Additional item called "Ship Insurance Software" could be purchased and installed on any ship that player wants to offer for rent. Having this item installed gets the player compensation reward if the player's ship gets destroyed while being rented to a NPC. Player would also be able to restrict rental ships to several sectors, or just to safe sectors. On rare occasion, a NPC may want to offer to buy the rental ship, saying how they fell in love with this specific model. The player has the option to sell the rental ship for 110% of it's value to the npc.

Also, lottery. I mean we have stocks market but not lottery? D:

If we're updating missions - fix the 'return stolen ship' ones, stolen fighters should *always* bail at some point. I've had some down to 1% and gave up trying to get them to bail, now I just don't bother. However the idea that you and your marines could be a mercenary police force, capturing stolen ships, is a great one. Could also be a capture instead of assassinate mission for those escaped crooks (or double reward if you bring him in alive - ie board his ship and bring 1 criminal cargo back in handcuffs).

And up the time limit for missions, so they can be done at my leisure (well, to a reasonable point) rather than having to immediately rush and try to achieve it. This goes double for the times that just aren't sufficient to complete the mission at all.

Maybe we could have some pirate missions - capture ship, capture freight, escort pirate wing on a raid, deliver contraband.

I'm aware of that. I'm not doing that for thousands of lasertowers. The object of "suggested fixes" is to reduce the tedious stuff, not increase it.

That would all be nice, but I thinks we're getting a small patch, not a major overhaul.

Making the game open source would be awesome though!

Hover over equipment and press your information button... default I if I remember right. You know, it even shows i on the items, in case of equipment it will give commands that equipment enables.

I realize it doesn't explain what commands do exactly... but half the fun of X series is exploring. So use it and find out. Tho it wouldn't kill anyone to explain the vague commands a bit.

If I walk into a computer store and tell the clerk I want a gaming computer I'm not just going to buy the one he says is blazing fast and will play everything. I'm going to look over the product and inspect, cpu, graphics, memory, hard drive, etc. Well in X3 your stuck buying something without really knowing what it is.
Wow, I see what you meant now and feel like a complete idiot lol.

I guess I never scrolled down far enough in the information panel to see that the game does in fact tell you exactly what the items do

It just lists commands lol. Doesn't say what they precisely do. If I had to fault anything is lack of proper manual... we never once had a manual that was worth looking at. Then again... shoving everything relevant for AP for instance, into a manual... would make for one interesting series of novels, would probably look something like "Manual XLXIII - Tractor beam for dummies".

How many people that played the living hell out of X games even know that you can customize your own turret commands... as in change priorities or add/remove commands. Works wonders with cap ships forcing big guns to shoot at big ships instead of making pretty light show. How many people know that -1 in number of runs will loop the trade? I didn't till like... ughh... LONG TIME.

Nobody ever tells you that asteroids will respawn as long as you don't strap a mine to them... Actually, here is another wish. If a mine gets destroyed/self destructs/etc allow respawn of original asteroid :P So I can finally stop being overly protective of mines with high yields. Nothing worse then losing a 50 yield silicon mine to some asshole xenon invasion and not realizing it for a few days.

Was standing up several groups of ships last night, and thought this:

- It would be great, when on the Properties Screen or Sector Map, to be able to SHIFT-Click to select multiple ships to give orders like Add To Wing or Dock At or Follow.

I don't know if it's an easy fix, but it would really help prevent a lot of carpal tunnel syndrome!

A small edition I would like to see, should be easy to implement as the code already exists in the game. I would like the ability to 'switch on' fluid or AI pricing for my stations. e.g.. When my SPP XL stockpile increases the price automatically decreases, then increases again as stockpile runs low. This is exactly like AI station pricing runs now.

I believe you can do this already. Look under Station commands? Not exactly sure ... can't remember exactly, but I have done this a long time ago, and it did work for me at the time.

Someone else may know more about it.
I'd like to shoot you in the butt with a EBC gun, hide in the asteroids and laugh at what I done, put a blood blister upon each bun, I'd like to shoot you in the butt with a EBC gun.

didn't read all of this, so maybe i'm just repeating, but, whatever.

-feasable-

Bring back Corporation missions in AP, maybe after the war has ended. I greatly enjoyed them in TC, but now i stik to AP.

A Selling / Buying / Profit overview for ships n stations. there are scripts out there that do it, so shouldn't be a major issue. before i picked up X3:R i didnt even know i'm that picky on creditssss, but there you have it.

More functionality to player owned ED n Trading Stations.

-exotic stuff-

Something like a Warehouse-Station. Should be Cheap, Store as much as n TS, thats it. Comes in S, M, L, XL and is possible to put into complexes.

Separate Buyying / selling Price Settings.

Better KI. (incorporate Bounce)

Free Argon Cahoona-Meatsteak-Burgers when you spent at least 1000 C at your Local Trading Stations, can be Tradet for a 5 c discount. Dinks cost extra. :D

thats it. keep X going

To the developer:

Is there an estimated release date of this patch? Thank you!
I live in my Vidar.

Laser hit efficiency: 97% @190,499 shots
Missile hit efficiency: 97% @4,204 missiles fired

Two words "Engine Trails" especially for capitals cos when there not there there just no visual sense of movement is so much better when you see the engine glow when it moving similar to the rebalanced mod

also a window that keeps a running log of trader mark 3 profit or loss also taking into account the equipment it buys for itself as well

and my final one TC plots in AP so we can go from start to finish in the X3 Campaign possibly adding in a small plot between the two to link them like helping argon finding albion systems and to help Saya kho to get into the earth torus

Help this treacherous bitch to destroy the Torus while it was defending the earth against an ongoing Xenon invasion? Never!

May be pretty simple but do the same thing you did with Rebirth, allow for achievements with the Modified flag.

Sure some people will cheat but I'm pretty sure you can use outside programs to get the achievements too if they really wanted them.

Very fine.

To select every sector manually to find our what's the best price or quantity of a item is quite boring and does not make fun.
So, would really like you could have a list like usual but over ALL sectors (if there is a advanced satellite deployed and you have best buy software)

Could you equip factories with some gun (or missle) turrets as an upgrade? Just a few types would do it. And factory repair needed!

LT are too cheap - OR - LBC are too expensive.....
After more than 10 days DID you have to be mad!

I'd like my second/right mouse button to do something in the sector map and to be able to group units quickly via left mouse button band-box selection in both the sector map, the object list to its right and the property UI menu. I'd also prefer to control the cursor location with the mouse and not the numpad arrows as its very slooow.

Hopefully any work done with Lua has potential for re-use in the XR engine too.
