The west clings on to the old Arab order at its peril
Egypt's regime still holds out - the powerful espionage chief, nowadays the vice president of the Egypt, stated today that there will be "no ending of the regime" and no immediate departure for President Hosni Mubarak.
More directly he also stated that unless the talks produce results:
New video showing violent clashes between pro-democracy protesters and supporters of Hosni Mubarak has been obtained by Al Jazeera.Suleiman warned that the alternative to dialogue "is that a coup happens, which would mean uncalculated and hasty steps, including lots of irrationalities."
So the regime's plans for the future as I see it:
Regime stays (no surprise) and egypt remains the real life version of Tropico.
Hosni Mubarak may depart with his fortune sometimes in the undefined future and Suleiman may be maneuvering for the post of dictator / president (?).
