it has to go link for each image link

Here's mine:

But, somehow, I still prefer my own selfmade signature

For now I think I'll go with the following:
(though it's not as readable as I'd hoped)

Any advice I may offer is predicated on my understanding of X3TC unless it has been specified it's something else under discussion. In which case my advice is probably based on my understanding of X3TC because it's been some time since I last played X3R, & I can't claim to have played anything earlier.

You could try GIMP. It's free and pretty powerful, but the user interface is, um, complicated.JoeVN09 wrote:Are any of those free?Freya Nocturne wrote:Programs I'd recommend are Photoshop (Elements 7 & CS3), Corel Painter IX and Paint Tool Sai.I was thinking of doing up your blank template with my own company logo. Thanks again for some great work!

GIMP rocks, although I've only ever used it under Ubuntu, not sure there is a Windows equivalent?

Great idea. Even tho it's sad that the graphics look very munchy. I guess because of the Jpeg compression. For such stuff, especially when there are small fonts on the graphic, I'd recommend using PNG since they offer losless compression and you'd get it way more crisp and beautiful.

using anything other then JPG would breach the forum rules about file size of signatures and display icons. JPG gives the best quality for file size./root wrote:Great idea. I'm an artist, I know what I'm doing when it comes to file type.

Oops.. think I've missed something there. What maximum filesize do the forum rules state being ok? Think I'll go looking. My current signature is ~90kb.
But well, tbh, I don't see any sense in limiting the filesize when the file itself is placed on another server and not the forum's server.
Btw: I'm a web developer, and I tell you it's nuts using jpeg for graphics containing text or thin lined details, because the quality setting you'd need to show them correctly would produce a filesize equal or even higher than the losless png compression
If our graphic guys come to me with a draft version of a website ready for production and it's a jpeg graphic, I tell them to go home and fetch a png version. Otherwise my department would be unable to create a 1:1 HTML template.
You show your vacation photos as jpeg to the family - okay. But for anything web related with any demand of precision.. jpeg sux.
Don't get me wrong - your graphics are GREAT! I love them! Wonderful art! It's just a drop of bitternes, that I can't even read what's written on it, because it's so munchy.
Okay, the rules argument strikes me down here - I'll look that one up. Of course we won't use bmp here, but png is common web standard. We live in times of DSL, not ISDN
-- edit: Found it.
We have 15 posts per page. That's a maximum of 750kb for avatar and signature - provided there are 15 different posters on one page _and_ they all have max images. That's not too much if you have a good internet connection - and otherwise you could just turn the switch to not show signature images. Well, nuff said.
But I'm not here to complain about rules. Sorry
I'm here because I like your work. Nice one.

What a weird rule. Well then - it's back to "no signature" for me in this case, because I can't see the sense in having a signature if nobody is able to read it.Signatures should total no larger than 600 pixels wide and 150 pixels high, including all images and text. This means you can have up to 8 lines of text maximum or an image up to 150 pixels high, but not both. Avatars are limited to 80 x 80 pixels. The total combined size for both signature and avatar should not exceed 50kb.
