Nanook, I believe your tips are quite usefull, though it is too late for me to try them. But have a look at this, don't you think it could be better if instead of selling the merc and buying a manta you buy a spp? That's what i did, after stripping off the express you get almost 400K thats enough to buy a spp, transport it and supply it with a modest amount of crystals just enough to make it run. Furthermore you still have the money to repair your merc at least to an acceptable extend. I let my merc collect crystals and then sell the e-cells.
I think that establishng your own factory in the very beginning of the game could prove both profitable and exciting.
Hope to see you opinions 'bout that

You can do this, but it just takes longer to start earning cash. No factory is an instant money maker. With only a few hundred thousand credits to work with, you're not going to be able to do very much. The only way for your method to work is to use SETA over long periods to get your factory working. I don't use SETA to make money, ever. I prefer to maximize my gameplay by being hands-on all the time. It's just my style of gaming, and thus my tips are oriented towards those players who feel the same way. If you don't use SETA, you'll make money much faster at the start by trading or capturing than you will with a factory. Factories are generally best for long term, hands-off earnings, once you've established yourself and have some spare credits.indever wrote:Nanook, I believe your tips are quite usefull, though it is too late for me to try them. Hello
Call me a newb - seriously new, but I'm having a spot of bother with this bit:
"After you land at TerraCorp HQ near the end of the second mission, strip and sell all equipment from the Express you were loaned"
How do I strip and sell the bit's from the express?
Ta for ur help
Edit: Figured it out - just hit left on the product to sell it - just haven't had enough (any) time with this game

I am having some problems:
1. I flew to Kingdom End and there is no ship called a Boron Mako. The ships that were on sale were far more expensive than my cash (399k). What alternatives do you recommend?
2. How do you sell the Mercury? If trade with the station where you get it from, there is no way to sell it.
Thanks...

wow, you were browsing the depths of the forum (you brave person you
)
1). If you cant find the Mako in the shipyard, try the pier/warf instead, its definatly sold in one of them, i just cant remember which.
2). Dock it at the shipyard, get into a different ship, then choose to trade with the station, you cant sell the ship your currently in.

The Mako can be purchased from the Boron dry dock in Kingdoms End. You can also sell your mercury here or at the Boron shipyard if you wish.Lugger wrote:I am having some problems:

Ok I shall head back over to Kingdoms End and take a look. If I travel there in my current fighter I will be able to sell that and buy myself a new one (which is the the whole idea)
That still leaves that junky old Mercury sitting back at Terracorp HQ which cannot be sold from there. I guess I just have to leave it in place forevermore until it rots to pieces a few thousand years.

No, just tell it to fly to the shipyard in Argon Prime. You don't have to fly it there yourself.Lugger wrote:Ok I shall head back over to Kingdoms End and take a look. If I travel there in my current fighter I will be able to sell that and buy myself a new one (which is the the whole idea)

Now, follow all these tips, and buy a few stations after getting some sort of Corvette, like the Osprey. Capture a few Xenon K's and sell them. Than buy an albatrose and a few novas and continue the game!
Now you all play nice and have fun.

I did all this just before going to do that silly mission with picking up Soyha and getting shot at! Interesting enough, those pirate ships DO NOT attack while you are inside the Albatrose!
Now you all play nice and have fun.

It's well known that the pirate ships only attack the Express. It's why a lot players bring another ship to the party to capture the super pirates. They dock the Express and jump into another ship so they can take them on one at a time.

Nice bunch of tips.
I didn't strip the Express. Kinda felt dirty, although I knew you could do it. I just think that Julian has shown signs of loyalty to those that are good to him (like his friend Brett at the beginning).
I'm only about 3 hours into the game but am enjoying it immensely.
Thanks for the tips guys,
Blum
