I have run into a bug with 1.50.

On my original install, I had begun to put mods in, and began working through the cycle of what works together well, and had everything going well, until I ran into one thing. The 1st time I tried the ECS system, and donated money to the guild, the game would lock up shortly after. Only way out was to kill in the task manager.

After trying everything I could think of, and pulling out other mods, I still had the same problem. Since I am new at putting mods into x3tc, I figured I had gone wrong somewhere, so finally backed all the way up. Completely cleaned my system of x3tc, and reinstalled it. Created a second install of the game, to use for testing this time.

On my test install, I started the game, and completed the first Terran escort mission, and created a clean save. Then, I installed only the PG3 mod, and created a seperate save after that. Worked my way over to the US by PTNI, and went in to the PG base there, and tried the com system. Gave a measly 1k as a donation, and then landed at the base. Game locked up on autosave. Can repeat this as many times as I want. 1st clean save (no PG) and can go anywhere and save. 2nd save (after PG installed), and can go anywhere and save anywhere, and the game runs fine. As soon as I donate through the ECS, the game will lock up in flight sometimes, and lock up everytime if I land anywhere.

I am going to leave the test install as is, so if there is anything you need to help track this down, just say the word. I will play vanilla for now, and create a new test install to try other mods.

Seen the same issue as well.

It happened in my game on Vista, then remained after I moved to a new install on Windows 7

Hadn't reported it as there are various other scripts installed that I wanted to rule out first

After I make a donation to the pirate guild, this script is causing a complete lockup when I try to look at my pilot statistics page. Does this script change the pilot stats page at all?

EDIT: Tested script further and then gave up and uninstalled.

Looks like the hang only occurs after I donate and the pirate guild makes use of the credits I gave them. At least that's what I assume is happening, it runs fine up until the point I give them credits.

I'm running 2.5 X3TC, with several scripts, probably too many to mention. Nothing that alters the relations between myself and the pirates though and absolutely no scripts that cause my game to hang or crash. In fact, this is my first script based crash in the history of playing X3TC, even my own flawed creations.

Thanks for the reports, I probably already have fixed the lockup bug in 1.51 but i will double check. Version 1.51 should be available around this week (will also include a "Hack a Station" option to the Bases).

Wealthy Pirate Bases in pirate owned sectors can build those stations. Pleasure domes' goal is to allow the player to sell illegal wares easily (and to play blackjack through ECS). You can't sell wastes anywhere.

I'm glad to hear that you may have tracked down the bug.
I'm very interested in this script.

Pirate Guild development is basically finished. Versions 1.5x will probably only correct remaining bugs and balance the economy.

I will handle the Yakis in a separate plugin called Yaki Armada. It won't be a plugin as big as PG, though. And it will basically works the same as the X3R version was. I am working on it, but i can't give a release date yet.

EDIT: Oh and detailed online documentation about the plugin is now available.

Version 1.51 is now available.

The game crashing bug when the player decide to donate money to a pirate base has been removed. Some other (minor) bugs have been corrected.

The only new feature is the Station Hacking menu in Pirate Bases, available to members of the guild only.

Included documentation has been updated to match the online one.

Enjoy.

The documentation in the download states that it is still 1.5, not 1.51.
Is the readme and documentation changed in the zip file with 1.51?

Setup the new plugin this mornin, and so far, everything is working perfectly! Thank you for the update, and the hard work. This plugin, in particular, brings a whole new, missing element, into the game!

Looking forward to Yaki Armada!

I am hoping that the OWP plugin, being discussed on another thread will fit into this as well, seeing where that one goes!

Download link on the website you mean ? Yeah i've not updated it yet, and i probably won't until a dynamic version is installed. However included "readme" file is up to date in the archive. The full documentation has changed (it's a copy of the new online doc instead of a somewhat updated version of PG2 doc).

I downloaded the archive from this site yesterday and it contained only the 1.5 version. I download it today and it contains the 1.51 version. No idea why that is. I cleared my cache just to be safe.

Using the new version now and the freeze bug is no more, nice work.
This script is very nice and adds quite a bit of life to the pirate faction, I am pleased.

I have a couple questions though. I'm a member of the guild and the pirates keep choosing to perform raids on sectors I own.
It's kind of funny when they ask me if I want to join in on a raid on a "player" sector.
I end up jumping in all my M2s and killing them all.

So here's my questions:
Is there a way to stop them from choosing to raid me when we are not enemies?
Does killing a pirate guild raid group damage my reputation with them?
Do I get any bonus credits from killing them in a sector I own?

Glad there's no freeze anymore. Especially for something as trivial as the donation system :s.

That's not something that should happen at all. Target selection mechanism is fairly complicated but it has been designed so only "red" pirate bases are authorized to attack player's assets. There's one exception to this rule: if you have been selected as the "worst foe" of the guild (see online doc), it's quite (read: too) easy to become the "worst foe" when the plugin starts as you only need to kill a few PG ships to do so. But anyway:

1) When they attack "your" sector, who is the real sector owner ?

2) Do those raiding parties turn red on YOU and directly target YOUR assets in the said sector ?

3) Is the homebase (pirate base) of the raiding party your enemy ? As you can be a friend to the guild and still be at "war" with a local PB. Turning a PB red is quite easy, you only need a single patrol ship with wrong friend/foe settings coming across a PG ship to do so.
Does killing a pirate guild raid group damage my reputation with them?
Killing any Pirate Guild ship will damage your reputation and will turn its homebase red on you, triggering additional raids against your assets. To turn back blue a PB, you'll have to directly contact it and pay a fine. You can also destroy it before it gets too big, but expect repercussions :)
Do I get any bonus credits from killing them in a sector I own?
For the destruction of any PG ship, anywhere, you will gain the following:

+ The usual standard reward given by the game if any
+ "Galactic Police" reward for the destruction of a PG asset (good money depending on destroyed ship class)
+ "Bounty" reward if the destroyed ship is a pirate veteran. See online documentation about reward system.

All the pirate bases in the universe are blue to me.
The pirates post a raid happening on a "player" sector.
I have sector takeover from the STO script by trickmov.
The sector fills with red pirate guild ships I have to destroy.
They attack my assets when I am a member of the guild and not a worst enemy.

My global friend/foe has pirates set to "friendly".
They on turn red because I have show hostile enabled.
They are specifically targeting my assets, stations, satellites, and ships.

One other thing, when you capture a bounty hunter's ship, it doesn't count as killing him for the mission. You just end up with a ship with a flashing name.

Ok, thanks for the report, i will give it a check this weekend and post the fix for both issues.

The hostility of the pirate seems to be caused by the fact that you really own the sector. So you become a "legit" target for the guild AI. Nothing heavy to fix, i will publish a patch probably tomorrow.

I forgot to intercept the ship's capture. Will do, and check the capture with other potential mission targets. The flashing effect should disappear after a (long) while, i'll change that so it's immediate when ownership is altered.

Hello!
Thinking of using PG and have one question: if I've got a mission from a station to protect or kill some pirates - is that has any relation to PG and its attitude to me, i.e. my rank in PG and so on ...?
coool game :)
