Could you please put some work to property menu? Having larger fleet and having to manage it in this game drives us crazy...

Add more filters, reduce wasted space (like headers and blank line separators) add more tabs.

I use property menu all the time while playing in mid and late game, having it improved would be far better than getting more missions or ships. It probably wouldn't need as much work either...

So, PLEASE Egosoft PLEASE PLEASE improve the property screen in 2.0.

Managing your fleet through current propery menu is the worst thing in this game right now...

It's a little too late to suggest this for 2.0, and this isn't the best place to be suggesting it - if you want the devs to see it, post in the devnet ideas forum. (You need level 3 access to see that forum, which you can get by filling the details at the bottom of your profile.)

since there will be aldrin missions, is there confirmation that the issues with docking, economy, and EEMP's in the system have been addressed, particularly docking?

**Hug** (ok I'm a guy and I think you're a guy as well so that kind of gross, but that statement warrant a hug regardless)

Since I'm planning on to continue my Terrain plot game, I'll take your word for it. I'm not really far (as in hours) so I was planning to put the game on hold and start again once 2.0 is out, but since it's compatible I'll just continue playing, amassing my wealth and armada while waiting. :)

Although if it turns out not the case, I hope you will understand accidents would not come from an unexpected source

But April? Damn that's still sometime away, I guess the good things is it's only 1 months away from summer.

Some on here for reasons stated, prefer to play without doing the plot or not completing it.

The latter is where I am with X3R,simply because of that stupid race through or near those rings....one day I'll go back to it..maybe.

X2 I completed and went on to expand my empire. It was not stagnant for me,and I was disappointed when I could not continue my saved game in X3R.(similar R-TC)

As for TC...The plots are easier to get into, some are tedious or demanding of both time and effort.
Now in real life,I avoid confrontation and fighting as much as I can,but in X3 etc., it is just part of a game which hones my reaction times and I get some sense of satisfaction from major battles, even if I have had to reload often, just to complete a combat mission.

So having to complete this or that mission in order to do another mission is no different than following the story-line. You can't chase the guy in X3R who steals the crystal , before you have done the previous parts of the story-line.

That's my take on it,anyway. And as I have done a lot of the betas and also the RC1, I can tell you that the rewards at the end are worth the effort.Although halfway through I was slightly dis-enchanted,admittedly.(Thanks to the L3 player who spurd me on to finish it.)

Yes ,the one ship everyone here refers to as being a disappointment...well yes, maybe.it depends if you want another variation on existing ships. But later in the plot there are other ships as rewards. But I'll let you find out what they are the way I did ,or you can just wait for the update.

So thank you Egosoft for letting us have a preview to test and bringing the updates so soon.

No, it has not been removed. The DVD version of the game uses TAGES too, but it uses the disk-check version so there is no activation, if that's what you are concerned about.
Thanks. Guess I'll have to put off from playing X3:TC anymore for now. TAGES is making my system go haywire, and also trashed 3 DVD drives (2 Pioneer and 1 LG Lightscribe). At first I thought it was that my DVD drive just gave up the ghost, but after replacing it twice I had the same problem.

A few weeks later, a friend of mine started having similar problems when he bought X3:TC. His was a NEC.

Anyway, I'm looking forward for this expansion still, the X series to me is *almost* the perfect game. Thank you Egosoft :)

I have noticed that with the copy protection system sometimes my system freezes or it wont play X3 cd sometimes other cd's. This is simply sorted out by ejecting the disk and puttting it back in.

A pain the the bum but it sorts out the freezes and non cd working.

Yes. That's fine, except the requirements for the 'good stuff' are that you must have completed the Terran, Goner, OFF plots and got the first set of gates aligned.

The Bala Gi missions didn't go to that extent in X3R and quite frankly, being a non-fighter, the requirement to Fight, fight, fight and do yet more fighting in order to do the new missions to is quite simply a turn off. And it makes me quite sad that the game is going down this route.

The game is just reflecting History.

The world's national boundaries,as we know them today, did not occur without conflict. We still have border conflicts today in some parts of the world.

Yes. from a moralistic point of view,I sort of agree with you. That is why I do not play Grand Theft Auto, for example. But different people draw the line in different places.

With me,in X3TC,I have stopped doing assassination missions except for when it is part of the plot sequence.Maybe if assassination was in every part of every mission,I too would stop doing the plots.

Being an L5 is free, for that matter--you just have to sign an NDA and send it off to Egosoft to get to that level.

I'm dissapointed that a patch that has some fixes in it lots of us have been waiting for is tied into the media event of a dvd release in a new territory.

Is there going to be an interim 1.5 patch?

I would like a Campaign. Where you could WIN sectors and actually DO SOMETHING with all those factories! (Or MULTIPLAYER?)

You could only buy ONE sector, and it came FAR TOO EARLY for me, I hadn't 6,000 let a one 60,000,000!

I was hoping the X-universe (after about 4 attempts at it now) would finally include a CAMPAIGN!

This would "breath life" and *PURPOSE* into an otherwise *dead* universe.

BTY: What on earth (or off it) do people actually do who do NOT play the story missions?

is it a used as a:-

1. Virtual Dolls House?
2. Sandbox?

I find not enough customisation for (1) and not enough interactivity for (2).

The high expectation set by OBLIVION, and the standard of modding there, leaves me wondering if X3 was even conceived as an RPG at all ...
CPU: Higgs-Boson w/Heisenberg compensator. (All errors fully concurrent, re-entrant, and recurring.)
GFX: Creditcard Hologram w/reality check bypass inhibitor (disabled)
SFX: Verbose Gargleblaster
HD: Unknown. (Unable to access since I turned on encryption.)

Whatever gave you the idea it was conceived as an RPG?? It's a space trading/combat sim. And it is basically a sandbox. If you're not good at setting your own goals, then you won't like the X games. As for the plot, it IS the 'campaign', but it's generally regarded as just a tutorial or an expanded set of missions to give the game a backstory. In TC, there are several such 'campaigns' that you can play through, some simultaneously if you wish.

But if you want a real campaign, make up your own. Make it your 'life's' work to wipe out the Terrans, finishing the job the Terraformers couldn't. Or maybe send the arrogant Paranid back to the stone age. Or maybe just become the richest, most powerful mogul in X-Universe history, making your mama proud.

So yeah, number 2 in your list is the correct answer. :P
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

X4 is a journey, not a destination. Have fun on your travels.
