I should look past repeatedly times here. I the cockpits likewise missed and are genuinly inspired by your Mod. :wink:

There was for about a day an image on this or the miniHUD thread which showed a hint of the 1.3 to come, the sector icons were all coloured and the likes of the targeting markers were yellow and red instead of just red for enemys, this would help see where you were aiming. Naturally this image has gone and i cant find it again :( But i'v seen it and its a hint of whats to come and i really hope that Galaxy pulls it off cause i'd SO like the miniHUD like that, easier to see and i am sure alot better on the frame rate than the standard HUD.

Hi,

Thanks for the mod, it looks a lot better :)

But, I have had to stop using it after around an hour or so. I had a fight with a few pirates, docked and saved. I then used autopilot to fly to the next sector. Just as my ship went through the gate, the screen went black as usual while loading the next sector. Then, an image of just the cockpit flashed on screen for a fraction of a second and the screen went black again. I could hear that the game had started again in the new sector, but the screen remained black. All the menu sounds worked, but no display. I ended up using task manager to quit the game.

Any ideas what might cause this? I reluctantly removed the mod and everything works fine again. I am not using any other mods atm.

Btw, in case it matters my system specs are:
Win2k SP4
Athlon XP3000+ Barton 400
1Gb DDR 400 RAM
GeForce 6800GT 256Mb RAM
Soundblaster Audigy I

will cockpits work?
is there a procedure before installing 1.3 ie remove callback stuff

I doubt the patch removes any files that have been added by yourself, namely scripts and mods. There was no mention of anything cockpit related in the patch info either, so I'm guessing the mod will still work fine.

By the sound of it, the 1.3 patch by Ego has changed some things in tships.

I think this mod will have to be updated to keep the fixes/additions in the new X3 v.1.3 patch.
Try not to let your mind wander... It is too small to be out by itself.

yes but my theory is that ego may have added the unused models....which might mean the cokpt callback mod wont work or cause errors if you are in one of those ships???

ie osprey for instance.....guess im gonna have to take a chance and go for it :o or maybe not....gamblin and me dont mix :roll:


ooooh we posted at same time, i knew there was a chance my theory had some weight :P even though really i know absolutely nothing :oops:

so would the procedure be

1. start game, disable mod, quit game
2. install version 1.3 (leaving callback files in place)
3. start game , do not start mod.....continue until galaxy113 makes his appearannce???

basically it is only mod/script thingy i have installed so far as i was waiting for 1.3 before adding the others.

It works fine with my game just the textures on te cockpit itself have turned black.

have u tried a osprey or the discoverer models or any new ones that have been added, if there even are any?

I'm downloading the 1.3 patch right now, then I'm going to check out myself if the cockpit are working. And yes, the 1.3 patch very much changes the tShips file, heck they added a Caiman Miner! They also put back the Disco and Osprey, tell me how they could do that without changing the tShips?

Removed as not sure if it was cockpit callback or a problem with the Argon M6 graphics :s

Yep they will, the mod makes every black, oh well.

And I found something very.... shocking. Either Egosoft is preparing itself for new cockpits, or they are giving us a hand. They have created a new folder in each race's folder named "cockpits" which have files already hooked up to the tShips and each file consists of the following:
