I haven't played the latest patch but it sounds like interdictions need balancing. But even if interdicted it is possible to run. I quickly pick a direction away from the attacker, preferably one that forces a turn, hit afterburner and flight assist off, put full pips ino engines and keep hitting afterburner, while using rotation and thrusters for some lateral movement to throw off the aim.
Then as soon as you can, which is now 40 seconds, hit super cruise.
It also helps later on when you can afford it to slot shield boosters to top them up when you lose a ring.
At first I thought combat was insanely hard but once you start getting upgrades installed it gets a lot easier with practice. I generally practiced at nav points because there you generally get to pick your targets. Remember to turn off the Report Crimes options otherwise the police turn up quickly.
Inevitably you'll end up with the police after you. As soon as you see the comm message just run to the nearest base, pay the fine and cash your bounties.

With the executive producer posting this on the forum I'm pretty sure there will be a wipemuppetts wrote:They are not 100% depends what crops up with this build, if they do not need a wipe they will not from what I read.
I have already spent a good 20 hours getting used to the game, I just want to play for keeps now, so roll on the 16th for meForum poster
"I would rather have a guaranteed release wipe announced tomorrow than a "maybe", as I can then accordingly both allocate my playing time and adjust my ingame behaviour (testing vs playing)."

Muppets is right, In full context, Michael was being pushed for a Yes / No answer he maintained throughout the thread there may be a wipe before release not there definitely would be, he was repeatedly quite clear about that.

I don't think he is saying that there will be, but I think he is saying, play as though there will be a wipe then you won't be disappointed if there is one, where as, if you play not expecting one and there is, you will be pretty pissed off. In other words, he doesn't know if there is going to be one, but he thinks there is the possibility that there will be one.

probably way down the line in developement, i wouldn't expect to see it until maby 2 years from now if they ever allow us to walk around on cap ships in the first place (we will be walking around smaller ships as a confirmed expansion)ATTACK_HAMSTER wrote:Will players get to fly those things, or will they be part of events? It was awesome. But what we were not told was:theeclownbroze wrote:I just watched the live stream, it was alright until about the end where they showed capitol ship combat entering the instance, it was awesome it reminded me of how the ships in Halo exited hyperspace....
Were the three players talking to each other on an in game system?
Were they even grouped?
If so did the group form inside the game or outside?
Was the ship an in-game normal piece of emergent gameplay, or a static feature like the ship in Eranin or was it a Frontier injected live event?
If things like this can happen in emergent gameplay and if there are social facilities to enable an ad hoc set of players to form a wing to deal with it, then I will be impressed.
If these were just 3 guys on teamspeak or were in a group formed before logging in then not so much.
Given it was at the launch event which was a trumpet blowing one I suspect it was an active created thing like the war, group formed outside as current. Voice comms maybe internal. Otherwise they would have crowed about it more.
Sadly gamma is what is launching give or take a few fixes and there's not enough features yet to justify a launch.
It's a good game if you're an old space sim fan but months away from being ready to grab new gamers by the throat and wallet.

It sounded very much like the games in built voice coms, me and Richard (Rusti) Dabourne have traded insults via it a couple of times. It has that fadey, crackly effect, which I thought was awesome, teamspeak might be clearer but doesn't add to immersion the same way imho.SteveMill wrote: Voice comms maybe internal.
