Chill out, we get that you're dissapointed etc and as most in this thread have already expressed, the dissapointment is understandable, but it''s hardly the end of the world is it?

And well the title is completely subjective isn't, i mean looks better than what? a steamin pile of poo? wel in that case it would even be true from your perspective wouldn't it? From my perspective it looks (and flies) better than most space games, so it''s also true from my perspective

This is the pre-release thread for all things elite. This is not an Elite forum, so this thread is plenty. The thread title is the OP's choice - had you started the thread, you could have picked it's title.

Now, unless you fancy picking up a formal warning, you can either take part in this thread or not, your choice, but you're not going to continue breaking rule 9 without consequence.

This post doesn't need a reply. In fact, you'd be best not replying, just reading it.

I do care but I'm not asking for a refund because like you say - ED is shaping up to be a great game regardless of recent shenanigans.

And if this all forces Frontier to up their game further and be more proactive in discussing changes with their backers as they are supposed to then all well and good. A lot more social interactive features are top of my wish list.

I have noticed I have less enthusiasm for reading what their plans and visions are now, as I take it all with a large pinch of salt, my trust of their word is such.

I can't help but detect they are somewhat less bullish about planetary landings because filling it with flora, fauna and cities to their standard is difficult. I'm not holding my breath on that one but I'd settle for a lot less than that.

SC are doing cut scene transitions. Didn't Frontier only have planet landings on less colonised worlds?

I guess a lot depends on new sales. They have our money so now they need new sales. Pulling the recent stunt so close to release won't help. There's going to be so many angry meta-critic reviews.

I guess at the moment i'd give it 5/10 but expect it to be 7/10 on release.

If there is going to be a wipe after gamma (they are saying 'maybe' at the moment but with my new found cynicism i'm taking that to be 'yes, definitely but we know if we say this you won't take part in gamma') I might just get stuck into dragon age and wait to see what comes out on the 16th.

Nar, you could land anywhere, even in outdoor cities. Gravity may have been a factor but I cannot remember.

It's possible that you are thinking of MB4 mining machine-related stuff. I think using them was illegal near ports.

I'm mildly irritated that the game will require a permanent internet connection, as my internet is only semi reliable, but I'm moving house next week anyway, so I'll have a nice shiny (And faster than a geriatric tortoise wading through syrup) new internet connection... When I moved house last year I had to go without fibre internet for 2 hours until the virgin media guy arrived and hooked my PC up.

I had to rely on my 4G unlimited phone data connection until then.

Don't know if you noticed it but Germany is really unprogressive when thinking about internet and computer science overall. It just doesn't work out together with the German work-behaviour because something a business administrator cannot see, doesn't exists and so for is not worth investing. And computer science is very often just relaxing thinking and discussing about ideas and what to do next.

Anyway I am still waiting for ED, I didn't lost hope but I was prepared from beginning that everything is just an idea and most of it will just not work out (well). I can tell that by my experience on that field but that is not bad as we already have a solid foundation!
