Also seems to show a flashing landing pad the perspective is approaching. Manual landings maybe? Yay! Excellent news about exploration being present.

Take from that what you will.

If you look carefully, those are external shots (note the roids in the second one). But at the very least there is a lot of detail on those stations.

Haha, we pulled the same two shots. Link, Link I'm dieing to know what (if anything) that little crane does. :)

In the teaser trailer we only get to see a few stations, which had me worried, but after watching Maxxlers vid I stated to notice more stations in the background. This one real close to a sun peaked my interest. Also there's this station, and I think this is a close up shot of the same station.

Something else I found that is interesting is this shot shows a ship firing its guns, I've circled the guns in green, the projectile in red and what could be missile tubes (?) in blue. I think this is a different shot of the same ship.

Betty will be that unlikely female companion; as the ship's computer she will have a visual interface through which you issue commands. Calling it now.

part 2 thanks to Maxxler
Not only that ,but I use goolge translate to understand what you guys are talking there ....and damn ,some stuffs have no english translation  I had to translate german to russian to french and finally to english and I got "The ship if many in sea" ...WTF

EDIT (after I "think" watched the vid ):

Can't beleive you guys understand eachother.I have no idea about what Bernd's talking there

EDIT (yes ,again :P ) .Bernd has a X Rebirth T-Shirt ...I want one
Guess you got something like this, link I actually found a long time ago on one of the forums :P

Considering the date for the game to beout, I prefer not to think too much about it and simply watch every possible news about it to keep a hold on my patience, the end of the year is still a long time away.

Instead I find it better to complete any game on stand by, free space in social life for the end of the year to go on a pilgimmage once the X universe comes back.
there was also this Link u could find in the German XR thread :-D

I will go to a nice city in eastern Poland for two days. If there isn't anybody who writes a translation for the 10 min video, I think Iwould do the job when I'm back.

@XENON_SLAYER: maybe you want to update your first post with this current version of the Q&A Video

Those look like complex tubes.

Or some other kind of station superstructure.

Look at the video again. At 0:22 you see very similar structures at the bottom of the screen. It's a ship flying just above a station. I'd say the shapes in that blurry screenshot of yours are the same station from 0:22, just viewed from further inside its structure.

I'd draw more attention to how the AI handles flight. There are only split-second shots, but if you look closely they maneuver quite differently from how they did in previous games. Not only considering collisions, but even in how they turn.
I also recognized totally different maneuvering patterns...seems like the AI is using the horizontal and vertical steering boosters to gain a different level upwards or sideways...from previous x titles we knew them as flying nose forward and turn around to achieve that.
could be quite interesting to have some dogfights with super intelligent xenons or something^^

again: what bern reveals of the game so far is absolutely awesome...how he describes interactivity with station and their different points of interest sounds so great....

Considering how high the standards are for Tc and XTC, I wonder what 3d card or how much ram we'll need for this new one? Just saying that it'll run well on the same setup as we have now will satisfy me..lol.

Thanks for all the germans helping out us english speaking folk. Means a lot to me and others I'm sure.

That stupid bubble wrap game. I spent 5 minutes on that and did a few sheets and realized that perhaps there was no point to the game.

I am especially looking forward to the exploration aspect and the ship modules.

I hope we get fully upgradable ships. Don't forget we already have ship extensions and they already get damaged in fights.

But what if we could upgrade the ship itself? Maybe change the engines for more speed but less acceleration, or the energy capacitors for lower capacity shields and weapons, but a much faster recharge rate? What if all upgrades had power requirements that meant you had to be careful about energy management or turn off unnecessary functions to allow more energy for the shields and weapons in a fight?

So, modules are in.

Now question is, are we gonna have a standard ship like we have now and customize from there, or can we go all out and fit, say, a corvette generator into a TS, having like a space empires "tonnage" limit.

Heat sinks from MW2 will be back? =P

It would be very cool to be able to modify and build ships to your liking...and have it complex and complicated enough that to build the ultimate M3 with chucknorrisonspeedium(tm) hull plating and antimatter drive, you'd need to pour ridiculous amounts of money to a factory for a long time to produce the absolutely best possible parts. =P

Somehow, I don't think we'll see ships as modular as your thinking. Could you imagine how long it would take to set up test ships with EVERY possibility on them to make sure they worked? Nearly imposable, but I do believe they may be saying something like 'subsystems targeting' that a lot of people asked for before, so we can attack capitol ships and destroy shields, and turrets first, something like that.

Then the next possibility might be modular damage, we have that partially now when your ship gets below maybe 40% shields things start failing, but to upgrade that, maybe the npc ships will get the same deal now, they never did before, they either had all weapons or were dead, they never had weapon fail during battle like we did, but a few people I talked to swore that Ion Disruptor, if you could hold it on something long enough, would disable weapons, but I have NoT seen it. If that's true then we could capture ships this way, taking out their turrets and engines and shields before having to destroy them if they didn't surrender.

The catch is it takes ages and you can't choose the order in which components are targeted :)

Well, any game with a character with equipment with different attributes needs exactly the same kind of testing, it's just not a <character class> wearing a <clothing item> and wielding a <weapon>, but a <ship type> with <armor etc. modules> equipped with <weapons>.

Eh, what would there be to test? All that's happening is converting cargounits to (additional) shield generators / shieldbays / lasergenerators / turrets / engines(just a few I can think of)

All that would be needed to be done is to tweak the numbers, and it could be an additional way to add race flavor:

Split love weaponry and speed, so cargo used is much less than other races to install the same thing, but shields are despised so they take more room to fit.

Boron like shielding, so they can cram more into what they have. They despise weaponry, so that costs more.

Teladi, loving shielding and weaponry(due to huge ship design), get more of a discount than the Boron(shield) and Split(weaponry)

Paranid are shield and turret heavy, so they get a discount on those.

Argon, being "middle of the road", don't get a discount.

Terrans get a slight discount on everything.

In shot one, there's a HUGE station looking thing in the background / lurking in the fog.

In shot two its not there anymore.
